I think they care about both and these younger players want to make their mark on the league. It’s new guard vs old guard. I love it.

Its literally the money. Every player has said they wanna win the money for the guys who need it like the rookies and 2-way players. And they are playing hard for it.

​@@wicklyfe8316The money is a huge incentive but it's also the competition. Especially for lesser teams who can't win the chip. In 10 years time, this tournament will be looked back as an accomplishment just like the new ECF/WCF MVPs imo.

Problem is neither of them is a really good scorer so they’d have to try to get them even more easy baskets through lobs dump offs or pocket passes and then it would become a little too predictable maybe

Both... I think the NBA wants teams to REALLY build this in season tournament and to do that it needs prestige and to draw attention. Half these players and whatever don't know what's going on but they're competitive and either want the trophy, money, bragging rights, some combination of those three or all three. Kudos to the NBA for having the guts to try this out. It's no Champions League yet, but with enough time and trial and error it can get there possibly.
