Yes they are for decoration, most 31 day clocks have fake weights

Wish the chimes were spaced out in these clocks. They all seem to chime too fast imo. Thanks

I just picked one up- it seems like it keeps slowing down- darn it!

If its slowing down, adjust the speed by turning the bottom nut on the pendulum. Up is fast and down is slow.

If you have an antique clock, there should be a button on the bottom of the movement to advance the striking until it strikes the correct hour, rather than moving a hour hand. Only some antique clocks have that feature.
