The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang from January 5 to 12, 2021. To conclude the congress, "The Internationale" was solemnly played.
@@Imaweaverboy we have always been taught not to sing the national anthem inside closed halls here in India. I thought the same is followed elsewhere in the world.
My favorite interpretations of the Internationale are the Chinese and DPR Korean versions. The Chinese version sounds the strongest and most determined, and the DPR Korean version sounds the most optimistic and uplifting.
DPRK's Internationale being optimistic and uplifting has to be the most ironic thing lmao. The fact the last Totalitarian Nation has the most uplifting version of a song calling for revolution and to unite is pretty funny.
@@jonathaslopes8038 the plandemic is not communist. The plandemic was caused by Bill Gates, by the World Economic Forum, by the Great Reset, and by all the megacorporations of the U.S. and Europe. Those megacorporations are as "dangerous" as Chinese or Russian megacorporations, but remember how China treats CEO´s like Jack Ma, China allows people getting rich and allows private property but avoids them getting too powerful. Communism and a revolution by the people is what we need to stop them.
Thank you so much for uploading and taking the time to translate every session of the congress. I truly appreciate it. I have an unhealthy obsession for North Korean affairs and understanding all this is a real privilege. Thank you so much Phuong. ❤

As an American, there is almost never a time where we are shown a true, genuine picture of the DPRK. Even after I began learning Marxism, American propaganda about the North affected how I saw it, and I often dismissed the country as false or somehow wrong simply for existing. This video was my first time seeing North Korea not covered in a veil of American news and narrative, and it helped me break out of that thought process and understand the DPRK better. Thank you for uploading this video.
Cheer up comrade. The contradictions of capital make Socialism an inevitably. The ruling class will be tossed into the dustbin of history as the the worlds proletariat rejoice in their victory
Socialist States have a "collective soft power", the song of Internationale is an example, it shows to the world about our value and determination. On the other hand, the behave and political reality of a single socialist state also affect the image of entire socialist world.
I remember a few years ago on my alt account I commented something along the lines of "the internationale should be sung by the workers of a nation, not observed by a room of oligarchs" and I am honestly so goddamn embarrassed by it. I was an anarchist way back when, and I really drank the koolaid of ideology. So many leftists are dragged down this path of anti-socialism simply because of the widespread disinformation and xenophobia utilised by capitalist media. Now that I've shaken off these prejudices I can really appreciate not only this beautiful piece of music, but the Korean socialist experiment as a whole. Thank you for sharing this, comrade. Long live the DPRK! Long live the worker's revolution
@ S Why do you believe this BS? How can you be so gullible and let the Western media wash your brain? DPRK is much more democratic than any capitalist country, in the true sense of democracy, not in the sense of Western fake democracies.
@@somebodyontheinternet7743 Read the Constitution. In the DPRK, there is a different form of democracy than the Western, capitalist fake democracies, where people are led to believe that putting a cross on the ballot every few years is "democracy. In truth, you can only vote for which puppet of the capitalist exploiters is in government. In the DPRK, there is democratic centralism, which ensures that people have a real stake in political life and decision-making through people's committees at all levels. www.korean-books.com.kp/KBMbooks/en/book/politics/00000450.pdf
It is true that there is no Marxism in the DPRK, they have left it behind since the 70s. That is why the DPRK still exists and did not go under with the marxist states in the early 90s
@@PhuongDPRKDaily China, Vietnam, Cuba and Laos never left marxism behind yet they are still around. I suspect this has more to do with overreliance on the USSR than ideology.

@@ajcyrilldy I visited once with the local Korea-My country friendship group, we drove around the countryside in a rented minivan, you literally just need to go there and see for yourself.
Even if you hate North Korea, you gotta give it to them, They made without a doubt, the most beautiful version of the Internationale the world has ever heard. They know how to make the Internationale!
I wish Asian countries would sing it! I am Chinese, and in our version played at the Great Hall of the People they don't sing it either. I wished Asian Congresses would look at the videos of the Soviet Union and Cuba, and see how the Internationale truly brings everyone together in song and in equality. This was a nicely performed instrumental version, but it is just not the same without the words.
Eh. To some degree I agree but the song is still the song regardless of whether it's sung. And once you get into translating it you can have things like what Billy Bragg did to this song happen. The english versions of this song were always clunky, and then billy came along and just turned it into an anthem of woke liberalism that wouldn't be that out of place at a Democratic party meeting. I'd rather just have the instrumental version than some poorly translated abomination and maybe they are taking that stance, to where they want to remain true to the original intention of the song but are not satisfied with local translations and also don't expect their entire country to learn french to sing it. I'm not asian and don't know any asian languages so I can't say that's the case for sure.
@@Person01234 I agree that all the English versions sound bad. For whatever reason, you just can't fit good English lyrics to the music. The International works out fine with Mandarin Chinese. It sounds good, ordinary people do sing it (just not in the government). However, the International also doesn't seem to work with Cantonese.
@@pineapplesareyummy6352 I've seen chinese versions of the internationale, the chinese version is actually the one I see lyric'd the most besides the russian and french ones. I agree they did a good job with it and looking at the translated lyrics it's also one of my favourite versions lyrically.

Lyrics & Version in Poland: Wyklęty powstań, ludu ziemi, Powstańcie, których dręczy głód. Myśl nowa blaski promiennymi Dziś wiedzie nas na bój, na trud. Przeszłości ślad dłoń nasza zmiata, Przed ciosem niechaj tyran drży. Ruszymy z posad bryłę świata, Dziś niczym jutro wszystkim my. Bój to będzie ostatni, Krwawy skończy się trud, Gdy związek nasz bratni Ogarnie ludzki ród. (2x) Nie nam wyglądać zmiłowania Z wyroków bożych, z pańskich praw. Z własnego prawa bierz nadania I z własnej woli sam się zbaw. Niech w kuźni naszej ogień bucha, Zanim ostygnie przekuj w stal, By łańcuch spadł z wolnego ducha, A dom niewoli zniszcz i spal. Bój to będzie ostatni, Krwawy skończy się trud, Gdy związek nasz bratni Ogarnie ludzki ród. (2x)
