When the market is overloaded with dark and edgy looking shooters and souls likes and everything has to be super ambitious and massive and then a simple fun game like Astro Bot comes around and steals all the attention. That's saying a lot.

This is why Microsoft is failing at being the best in the game market. They don’t get that it’s not about how many game studios they have under their belt. It’s about having games that appeal to everyone instead of the edgelord hipster crowd of male teens and young adult men who think they’re the coolest people ever when they’re not. Sony for the most part gets it as they did announce this game. Meanwhile that’s been Nintendo’s philosophy since day one and gee look which company has been doing well in this industry with the fewest problems and setbacks.

The fact Max was most interested in this and called it the best announcement after seeing Monster Hunter Wilds, says so much about the current state of the gaming industry. Once again Nintendo is right. It’s not about the graphics and how expansive like your game is. It’s about how much fun it is.

When my wife moved here from Ireland a few years back, she had never played much console games because she didn't grow up with one. I thought it would be a good idea to have her play Astros Playhouse. She absolutely loved it, though I had to explain many many of the references, and wanted to play more games like it. It's crazy to me that that game is free.

The guy who said it reminded him of cuphead is so right, both this game and cuphead are such an escape of the dystopia we call modern gaming. Cuphead is my favorite game of all time for that and forever will be.

One thing I keep seeing regarding this trailer and that I can agree with: this game being called just "Astro Bot", nothing else, is honestly kinda silly 😅 like, it's the third, maybe technically fourth game in this series! You can't just give it the barebones name! It's like if you had the furst Crash game called Crash Bandicoot: N. Sanity Islands, the second as Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Strikes Back, and then the third game was called... Crash Bandicoot. Just that. It's kinda silly when you think about it.

There's nothing more beautiful than so many showing like an hour's worth of Concord and everyone falling asleep, bored out of their mind and then they just do this throw game at the end and it's the most height thing on thr planet. I want to be a fly on the wall and the Sony executive room. They must have been sweating bullets when they saw the reaction between these two games especially after closing down most of their Japanese studios.
