**pt. 2! There were so many comments about shirts I missed I decided to do another vid ASAP. I still have a massive list of shirts that haven't been ranked yet BUT I feel like 3 videos in a row is a bit excessive...but if a lot of you people want more...we'll do it...just later (maybe snag some wild expensive shirts to see what the deal is)** anyway! see you next week!! can't wait!
You should check out some of the t-shirts Kith offers right now. Would love to hear your thoughts on their Leonard, Alex Boxy, Theo Dolman, and Pima Jersey Heathrow Tee's. The only one I own is the Leonard and it's my favorite shirt I own
Upstate Stock 50 /50 tee is killer!! And made in USA right in Brooklyn! They also do white label work so some iron snail tees 😉 Also the Flint & Tinder heavyweight pocket tee is easily the beefiest tee I've ever owned.
3sixteen are still my favorites. Both the heavyweight and Pima tees. Heavy’s fit more like a vintage tee i.e. underwear, which is how I use them, under sweaters, overshirts, and light jackets. Great value for either option at $98 for a 2-pack. As long as you don’t mind the monochromatic color options
PLEASE TRUST ME. Try comfort colors. I think it's a gildan brand but don't be confused. Their heavy shirt materials ARE AMAZING. Fit is great. And a plus is that most vacation spots use them for blanks now so you can get sentimental ones too!
You’ve earned my sub. Your production quality is great. Your videos are rich with information. And you’re both sophisticated in traditional quality and yet understanding of the most cutting edge modern art, which is, in my opinion, Andreas Gursky
I think my favorite white t shirt I have ever owned (and I have owned A LOT) was the Levi’s vintage clothing Bay Meadows t shirt. It was definitely more of a summer t shirt as it was extremely light but damn I loved how soft it was and the cut was super nice. I have short arms do a lot of times the sleeves are a little long on t shirts but this one was perfect on me. They were not cheap and not sure if there are even being made any more as but would definitely like to go on the hunt for another one.
Thanks for the videos. I’m on the anti-synthetic side of clothing materials considering you could buy things for the price of $70 for 100% cotton…that’s my personal preference but some people prefer all the things
I love my Asket regular t-shirts, but even more I love my Asket Lightweight t-shirt. It's so thin that I'm not sure if it passes the nipple test, so maybe getting one in white is risky, but as for the feel and comfort, my god, that thing is so damn soft!! My favorite t-shirt by far. Would love to see your impression of it.
Awesome video. I'm sure the last thing you need is another tee shirt but Arms of Andes would be a good one to check out. They are completely plastic free and made entire out of alpaca wool with cotton thread.
For sea island cotton John Smedley >>>>> Sunspel With that said, Bayside is what a lot of higher end *heritage* brands use as blanks and they're pretty solid for the price
Would you be able to do a pre-washed / used selvedge denim guide? I don’t really see anybody on RU-vid doing that. Oni just release a new bio-wash version of their 246, Orslow 105 2-year wash, 3Sixteen, etc.
The Iron Snail busting out a different type of “try on” vid than I’m used to seeing in my feed, apparently I’m a Gentleman of Culture. Don’t judge! 😂 Personally I’m appreciative that you didn’t go down the wet t shirt road, M. Awesome vid.
1:16 - hey, thanks so much for the video. I tried this shirt, front general stores, with high hopes and was let down by the fit. The shirt feels great, heavier, and high quality but the fit is very odd. I found that the chest had too much extra fabric around the armpits causing a weird shape. I tried the M and S and both didn’t work. S was WAY too small/tight.
As a wool lover im glad you included it in the line up ! Ive been very curious of wool&prince . I have a duckworth polaris ahirt ' and considered getting the wool$prince hoodie .
Okay Michael, legit question here, what deodorant do you use? White shirts tend to get destroyed by gross pit staining so I have always just stayed away.
@@Unbleachedapparel I doubt that, I think it has something to do with my Dove Men 72h aluminum deodorant. I know that stuff ain’t good but it works. It’s just the destroyer of white tees
@@CraigRoccanova Dear Craig, I’d be happy to send you an Unbleached shirt to try out if you don’t believe me. But here’s the science: Cotton grows white. The reason your shirts get yellow pits is not because your shirt is white but because it’s bleached. Raw cotton will not get the same yellow stains because 1. It already has a creamy tint, meaning the color can hide an incredible amount of sweat stains before even becoming visible and 2. When cotton is bleached, it’s stripped of many of its natural antibacterial and stain-resistant qualities. There are other reasons as well, but I can tell you from experience-I pretty much only wear ecru clothes, have for years, and don’t have yellow stains on any of my stuff.
skims makes the softest tshirts ive ever worn. cole buxton makes great heavy tshirts. goodfellow and co from target is the best value for money. you should incorporate some youtuber brands as i think they're the most creative in fit and fabric as of now. examples are: somar from owen hyatt, ronning from magnus, bldthnr by fernando rangel, raised online by frugal aesthetic, daniel simmons by daniel simmons, and probably many more!
wait damn, if i knew you were doing this id have suggested the box cut t shirt from kotn. i personally dont like the essential shirt, but thats an option too.
I recently found that WALMART'S own No Boundaries - Over-Sized T-shirt becomes the best bang for your buck, cheap tee *if* you wear down a size or two.
Hey, how about laying the T-shirts flat on something (pre-washed & washed)? I can't really tell the shrinkage when you're wearing them, and definitely not when you give percentages. Some of us need to see it side by side rather than hear percentages. It would help us a lot. Ty in advance! P.s! Love your content and keep them coming

Late to the suggestion box - Bleu de Chauffe. A French company. Interlock organic cotton and eco/health friendly dyes used. Thanks for the deep dives on this matter.
Olderbest is more of a boutique or carrier of multiple brands, those shirts you've shown were from a brand they carry called Timecatcher Clo. They also carry Bronson Mfg products at Olderbest.
Bought a Wonder Looper after the last video and I'm looking forward to spending even more on recommendations from this video that absolutely nobody but me will ever notice.
I have an unbound merino t shirt, which is 100% fine merino wool. I like it quite a lot! it was a bit long so I hemmed it myself, but man the magical qualities of merino stand out. Ive washed it in a machine once since getting it a few months ago and (aside from running the pits under the sink to rub off my deoderant residue) it still smells clean. Its also cool enough for summer. Cool shirt, although probably not as tough as Wool&Prince
The real question (for me) is which shirt comes from the factory at the shortest length? Next to collar, length is the second biggest priority for my short self.
I am obsessive about white t-shirts and own almost every possible t-shirt from every category. Easily 100+. I know it seems crazy but the Sunspel Sea Island really is the greatest shirt of all time. The softness and drape is unlike anything else I've tried. It's cost makes it inaccessible to most, which sucks, but the cost is justified. Nothing has compared, and I've tried them all. Other great shirts: Merz B, Warehouse 4601, UES Ramayana, John Elliott Crop, 3sixteen Pima, Bronson. Shirts that I think are overrated/overpriced: Tezomeya, Whitesville, Velva Sheen, Buzz Rickson, Mister Freedom (cut way too long), Reigning Champ, all the other Sunspel non-sea island shirts.
Hate to break it to you but Sunspel Sea Island really isn't the greatest shirt of all time. Stop lying to yourself. I actually know what the greatest shirt of all time is. It's from a Spanish blank manufacturer. Not gonna tell you the name though. Go look for it yourself.
@@moshymoshlol imagine finding a product that you really like, and instead of simply enjoying it (or, for another matter, acknowledging that the reasons you prefer it are inherently subjective), and instead you twist your enjoyment into vitriol to prove your superiority in judging plain white T’s over all other peons in the RU-vid comments. Nobody cares about your Spanish blanks, stop kidding yourself. I won’t tell you where to find basic social skills, you can look that up yourself.
Nice to see Pro Club get a shoutout. I used to get their tanks tops 3 for $15, and they were go-to gym shirts/work uniform undershirts. They're a little on the heavy/rough side, but they're cheap and last forever. And they really do hold their shape well.
Sunray sportswear tee shirts (makaha) is one of the best I've worn, also got the Warehouse & Co, the 2 best imo, but true i didn't try the bronson though:)
You gotta get a Tezomeya t shirt. it might take a couple months to get to you, but it’s worth it. the things they use to dye the shirt make essentially every shirt a 1 of 1. Pomegranate skin, insect gall, palm tree nuts, etc.
You are providing the best consumer reviews I have ever seen. Thorough, detailed, technical. Pacing of your commentary is economical and keeps me engaged. Really appreciate your work. A fan. Cheers.
You should check out American Giant's Slub Tshirt. They also have other options but I think the slub t-shirt is their most popular. I would be interested to hear how they compare to some of your other favorite t-shirts in the $50 range.
Every white tee shirt I've ever owned gets stained at the collar and turns a gross yellow/gray within a couple of months. I've stopped buying them. I'm not wearing aluminium deodarent. Not aure what the problem is.
@@TheIronSnail Might be the best $6 you ever spend. But shipping will probably be way more. LoL If you fancy some info on Thai swag or more specifically Handmade boots from Thailand I'd love to chat.
I’ve tried a few black tshirt brands. The best (for me) is Jockey. Not their undershirt, but their classic tshirt. I feel like Jockey gets overlooked and might be thought of as just underwear.
After trying to find the samurai shirt mentioned first in my size ( a struggle, no surprise it’s sold out all over right now) and seeing all the tee options just from Samurai, I think a breakdown of just their offerings would be useful! I’m gonna start out with the heavyweight pocket tee and go from there. First time trying anything better than a true classic. I liked them at first but they’re starting to really pill up and get flimsy.
Lady white co makes a merino wool shirt that is awesome. Honestly would wear it everyday. I think that would have likely been the best comp to the cotton shirts. It has really solid construction and has a decent weight to it.
The white cotton Ts from Massimo Dutti are pretty good too, especially the smooth feel for the medium weights. Not sure what kind of cotton they use though.
But, which one is best at getting rid of grease stains or other food stains as I am a messy cook and also a messy eater despite my ongoing best efforts to be less of a slob. I do actually do laundry and yet the stains seem unremovable. Are any of them stain-resistant?
When speaking of white T-Shirts, the reason those stains are so hard to remove is because the shirts have been bleached, which strips the cotton of many of its natural properties including its natural stain resistance. But also, the super-whiteness of the bleach just makes any stain stand out like crazy when compared to natural raw cotton. If you have ecru jeans, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Excellent video Michael! I like how you included good entry level shirts and luxury level shirts. I have a couple recommended brands and models. For warm weather Left Field NYC makes a Hemp cotton blend slubby shirt that I enjoy. American Giant has there premium slub tee that comes in a nice variety of colors. I also recommend American Giants Everest Tee it is a superheavyweight tee at 15.2 oz. Also Camber makes there Finest tee and there max weight tee .
