Adine: everything is ok guys. Fishan: everything is ok ? Ok then, are you ok Adine? Adine: yes I'm ok, everything ok Fishan? Fishan: yes everything is ok and thank you and everyone for helping Khanyisa ♥️🐘♥️🐘♥️🐘
Just love it when Baby K crosses her back leg.😊 I have beenfollowing her remarkable progress since the beginning. Absolutely fascinating information, and I so do admire all of you for your tender, loving care of the ellies. 🐘🐘🐘💟💟💟
Thanks Adine for the update. 💕🐘💞🐑💕 I have to confess that I skipped the parts where dr. Rodgers was taking Khanyisa’s blood 😢😢😢 Beautiful to watch Timisa next to Khanysa at the end of the video. They became the best sisters-friends.
If you don't mind me asking, what happened when she smelled Dr. Rogers? Also, I love how she just bustles herself right in among all those long legs partially looking for comfort, partially eager to start the days adventures, and perhaps our little princess partially announcing herself: it's okay, everyone, I have arrived. 🐘👑💕
Thank you for all the info. Loved how she was "swallowed" by the herd on her arrival. "One for all, all for one" is really true in their case. Beautiful!
Can elephants get any more fascinating? The mother’s milk changing according to the calf’s age...I’m just absolutely blown away. P.S. While watching this, I’m wearing my recently-arrived HERD sweatshirt over my HERD t-shirt. They’re so soft, it’s unbelievable. I also got the beautiful canvas paintings of Khanyisa & Bubi, and the other of Jabulani reaching his trunk into the tree. I decided to designate an ‘elephant wall’, lol, and they’re installed there. Thanks, HERD, for the great products!
An extremely thorough description of actions and treatments taken for Khanyisa; another sign of compassion and the total care given by all involved. Thank you for protecting and loving this precious calf! You are ALL precious🥰🧡🐘
Her family patiently waiting for Khanyisa, and they are clearly delighted when she rejoins them. They lovingly and protectively surround and welcome her. 💛🐘💛🙏🙏🙏
@@hellok7877 funny I noticed that Khanyisa was looking thin or loosing weight. Khanyisa should really be feeding from a surrogate lactating mother so that she gets the good healthy milk with the gut bacteria and immunity needed to thrive and high fatty milk, (5 gallons of it is needed a day), at 1 year's old. The Herd really ought to be able to produce and rear young so that any future rescued nursing ellies have a fair chance at survival on mother nature's milk.
@@hellok7877 Hi Helen. It is important to know she did not lose weight and was in line with previous experience as well as published articles growth charts. Thorough tests were done. Her energy was also fine. Teenagers also get a growth spurt were they get tall and lean. It was in recent weeks Adine followed her gut to ensure everything is ok. We never injected her with iron. We only withdrew blood for testing. We are getting it right with feeding and not injecting her. A blood transfusion is way more stressful and at the end of the day, we would like to get it right with feeding and avoid blood transfusions which is the last resort for us. The method worked as she is gaining weight. We would, however, like to do another round of blood to ensure her blood look better with the changes. We have a clinical pathologist, neonatologist, vet, paediatrician, and qualified individuals who look at it scientifically and Adine has the emotional edge to "add" to the formula. We didn't withhold facts as we were gathering information following the tests and now are sharing our findings. The wellbeing of the elephants is always our first and primary concern, which we are sure you can appreciate.
@@JD-nd1oz We have to follow South African law following their dioversity act, and are not permitted to reproduce with the herd. How we would love to be able to have that option for Khanyisa. Unfortunately the reality on the ground is not as easy as one would think.
it was not easy watching the procedure with Khanyisa. It reminds me of times when my son needed medical procedures. Thank you for allowing us to see what goes into the care for our special girl and others like her :) I think her herd was relieved when they got their sweet angel back :) You all love her so very well
She really is the luckiest little elephant, her human carers who obviously love her and care for her every need, her dedicated lamb friend and carer and her amazing and loving elephant family who protect her and love her unconditionally... Not to mention she is a little superstar to all her internet fans.. :) I hope you all have a fabulous day there!!
When Khanysia's trunk went up in the air as she smelled Dr Rodgers she was saying to herself I know who you are and I am not coming to see you..lol. Thank you Adine for this very informative video. Thank you Adine and all of the Jabulani herd team for all you do.
I watched this video twice today. It really touched my heart. Anyone who has been a mom remembers what it is like to see your child not feeling well. One thing that is so heartwarming is to see how much Baby K is loved, not only by humans but also her family. This little girl is amazing and she has not only touched my heart but many other hearts around the world😍🐘🐘🐘🐘😍🐘🐘🐘🐘😍🐘🐘🐘
Adine, do you know the type of iron they are giving Khanyisa? Is it iron bisglycinate? Yes, part of the lighter skin issues can include anemia, which can be due to nutrient deficiencies including low levels of usable iron and/or low absorption. We are so thrilled that you are at the helm and when you are unsure if all is well, you reach out. We personally love the details you so willingly provide all of us who love this little girl, the herd, and all of you who guide them and us through their life stories.
So beautiful seeing the herd stick close by. A few of the elephants had their trunks way up, picking up on the scent of the visiting doctor. I love how sensitive, intelligent, and concerned they are. Just amazing and all around beautiful!
Always enjoyable to spend time with Khanyisa & the herd. I had to laugh when she ran after her bottle. It’s amazing to see how protective the herd is towards her. Great episode as always. 🙏 from 🇨🇦
That was very interesting!!! All the ellies kind of wondering what's going on. And how they were very quite when Khanyisa joined the herd. But then on way out to forage their demeanor picked up. Everything back to normal. Really liked this; educational. Thanks for sharing!!!!💙💙💙💙💙💙

Khanyisa has a wonderful, loving family. Both human and Ellie Thanks once again for everyone who cares and loves these beautiful animals including Lammie 🤗 Much love to all from Scotland 🏴
So happy she is in the best of hands! Such loving care and attention - so beautiful to see! I hope you find a new supplier for the milk and that all goes well! ❤️❤️❤️
@@Aurinkohirvi -- one wonders, but currently Amazon is my go-to shopping center as I don't know what stores I can get to or get in to. Also retirement can change people -- for the better. Let's keep an eye on him. Maybe he and his family will become fascinated by elephants!
@@debbys-abqnm4537 He is in league with the U.S. empire and military industry and one of the nastiest employers in the USA. If he ever becomes interested in elephants, those elephants are being trained by Pentagon of he makes profit from it.
The other elephants new something was up...especially after khanysia was darted and she rumbled to her family...once she was reunited with her family...i noticed they often stepped in front of you stopping you from getting closer....even after the reuniting their trunks stayed up pointed right at you!!! I love their love for khanysia and how they protect her from even you...they dont understand you are just trying to help!!!
There can be no more wonderful a sight than seeing the herd waiting for their baby to finish with her humans and come back to them. How far she has come. How she has no idea, but that she's helped people through Covid.... we followed her progress and prayed for her. Our reward is to see the beautiful, fun loving, baby that she is now.

This was a amazing video. during the proceedure Little K is at the gate looking at her herd who are gathered at the fence they know something is going on.afterwards she runs to them they move her to the middle of the pack where it can be seen she rest her head against one of the females, and numerous trunks are touching her.And who made her way to little K side???Timisha. No one else in the elephant conservation community takes you into,or educates the world in this manner.Doint get me wrong! they are very good in their rescue adoption healing, loving caring ,and giving good homes to some of the most abused injured handi caped elephants. you take us into the stables, ophanage.Thank you for letting us travel from across the world to Hoedspruit for this journey.usa.
Thanks to your loving care I think Khanyisa will grow up to be a great, beautiful, big hearted elephant! I am so invested in seeing her grow up but she’ll probably outlive me
Adine gave a lot of herself to ensure that Khanysia survived her injuries and the emotional trauma of losing her family. I’ve watched several videos with Adine singing her to sleep at night and back at daybreak to give her bottles. It takes a special kind of person to go that extra mile . Khanysia sees Adine as her mommy on two legs and will go running to her when she hears her voice ❤
Great to see that Princess K is doing well with supplements. I like the way that she purrs through her trunk! Very cute just like the rest of her. Thank you HERD and Adine and carers: soon Princess K will become Queen K and she will be a work of art. 🐘
I would just like to say that I appreciate all of you at HERD. From Adine, the carers, people behind the scenes, the doctors, everyone that is involved in the care of Khanyisa and all the other elephants. You guys do an AMAZING job, day in and day out. I have so much respect for all of you. Thank you! 💕 I know there are people who question and criticize you, implying things they know nothing about. So I would like you to know that you all have a big following of people that appreciate what you do. So again, thank you! You will always have my support. God bless you all! ❤️
our sweet baby girl so well behaved when Dr is checking she definitely knows he is treating her what absolutely incredible creatures ellies are its so humbling to watch them we can learn so much from them, thank you all for helping these beautiful beings HERD and miss sunshine
Khanyisa is so very fortunate. She is surrounded by angels. She has a wonderful human mother in Adine, wonderful human caretakers in the HERD crew, wonderful elephant allomothers and friends, and a wonderful companion in Lammie. I am truly happy for her. Your videos mak my day.
Considering the devastating number of orphans, the work that's been done on getting their supplementary milk right is tremendous and will be a wonderful guide for you. Losing her mother and being injured notwithstanding, Khanyisa is a very lucky little girl to have such good holistic care at HERD. She looks very healthy and I know how closely you watch her. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE TEAM from me!
Khanyisa running to join her family - how the herd circled her and waited patiently to go out for the day. It is amazing how Adine and the carers have so much love and dedication to the herd.
This whole thing (just discovered) was amazing to watch, the science, the care, the love, so thank you for it all and for keeping us informed making us part of the family. I feel very humbled by it all. The milk so special got to be just so. Huge job. We are all rooting for Khanyisa's health, your health Adine and those of the wonderful carers , and the well being of every single person and elephant at the Herd. Thanks to the doctor, Dr. Rogers! I will never forget all these trunks in the air and little Khanyisa trunk on the bar towards them, then her running to them. Love you a lot.👏💞👍💥👏🍃❤
Kanyisa was soo good whilst having her blood test n it’s fantastic that this knowledge will benefit her n all young Ellie’s.The herd deffinately knew something was going on with their baby girl nothing gets by them that’s for sure. Thanks for all the excellent care n love you give you are all wonderful.🐘💕🐘💕🐏🙏👼
I love how the herd waits for the youngest calf to move before they do in this case Khanyisa. Such a loving family all huddled at the fence worried about her 😢

I'm wondering why the doctor didn't wear gloves, and allowed blood on his hands? This isn't meant as a criticism but an honest question regarding practices of obviously experienced and qualified people. Is this due to a lack of supplies, or are there no transmissible diseases between elephants and humans, or are you just that confident of Khanyisa's health history? I have such respect for all you do for these elephants, thank you for sharing the herd with us we are all learning so much!
As if Life isn’t difficult enough no manufacture of the milk supplement required to keep orphaned animals like “baby K” alive and thriving. 🙁. I’m sure you will find a way to replace it and perhaps market it yourself in a new and improved formula. Loved seeing Baby K with her trunk in the air knowing the doctor and his team were there. She is so smart!, Also noticed she didn’t go running up to him with her usual affection. 😂 She’s still too young to understand that sometimes things that may hurt a bit are helping you. 🥰😘
I noticed that she didn't run up to Dr. Rodgers also. Reminded me when my kids were little and I had to take them to the Dr. They were not at all happy about it. I am glad the procedure went well and she was reunited with her family.
Can she received condensed heavy milk? With rice for babies blended in, and vitamins she may need? For a few weeks, with more whole fruits . So good you are doing all of this. Love ❤️❤️❤️
There is no greater love on the HERD plantation then that love Adine has for Khanysia. Adine loves her so deeply. It is not that us who follow all the elephants are Herd don't love Khanysia. It is not that the carers don't love Khanysia. It is not that the other elephants don't love Khanysia...they all love her so much. But with Adine Khanysia is like her heart. I may be wrong but I believe it is Adine who loves her the most. Lammie is second after that...ha. Khanysia cannot be in better hands than at HERD.
This little girl elephant touches the souls of all that come to know her, virtual and in-person, human and animal. She blessing as are you all. Sending peace and love and prayers in Jesus' precious name.
May God Bless all of you for all of your hard work & dedication. Khanyisa’s family standing by shows you how much Empathy, Sensitivity & Love Elephants have for one another. I didn’t think about how stressful that must be for baby Khanyisa & her family. Thank you, Adine for explaining in detail the travails of saving the lives of orphaned & severely injured baby elephants. Much Love to all of you❤️🙏🌈🌺🐘
Well done Khanyisa you did so very well and the whole team at HERD doing everything to progress and support this amazing little calf and future calves too. It's a testament to your forward thinking dedication to these majestic animals, that will give rise to innovative regimens to help, each step of the way. Another great vlog from HERD, thank you for sharing 💞💫

Wow, I just noticed how much Khanysia (Sunshine) has grow over the past 3 months - I've been watching but thought she really wasn't that much bigger than Lammie but now she's much bigger than her sweet mom like companion! (so cute how Lammie discretely follows behind baby Sunshine) Just like Khanyisa's skin tone that's becoming almost unnoticeable now unless she's hanging out with a few adult's that have their permanent dark grey hue - then we can see how pretty in pink she really is - lol (she's so darn cute n silly) I guess u don't really notice their size difference until Khanyisa n Lammie are side by side but Khanyisia is really growing up fast : )
And now we wait for news on Phabeni. Things must be really serious. Sending get well wishes soon little boy and strength and endurance to his carers and Adine.😢
Adine, I've learn a lot about the elephants, through videos...these beautiful gentle giants are just amazing, they are very protective of their family and carers...wow I wish I could come out there and just be close to them ❤ bless you all...
I swore she was growing taller and more slender, so glad to have that confirmed. And next to her family she is still a tiny little girl... keeps reminding thst she is very young and tender.
Aww poor little mite. Khanyisa didn't look her usual happy self. I had forgotten what she went through even after her wounds had healed. Such a courageous little girl.
How did her blood test go? Has the milk been replaced for her yet? All are you are kept in my prayers please stay healthy and happy. And big hugs and kisses to Kenisha.
