Achim, Looks like a Momsen Lung! But I just cannot get past that smooth fin removal! My beloved Rocket Fin "bangers" stick like glue to my Fourth Element booties! I have to wax 'em and I'm currently testing spraying 'em with food grade silicone. I would eat my hat to be able to do this so easily! Frankly, I'm attributing this to your superior youth and flexibility...

Keen to try one of these sometime. One suggestion - perhaps a neck strap which could be tightened to personal preference (Velcro?). There are times in this video (eg 4m46s) where you are having to re-position the mouthpiece - perhaps as the unit moves on your body or you look to one side or the other or upwards. Whatever - I want one!!
Off topic to the main focus of the video, but I'd love to see you demo a backwards kick in those Seawing Nova fins. I have a pair and find it hard to do. Back on topic, rebreather looks compact. Please post links to more information about it!
Hi, no problem - actually I think we did something like that recently, have to search - otherwise I´ll do one for you - works great. I prefere rubber fins, especially with heavy gear - ie. doubles, etc. but they are SO lightweight - unbeatable for travel :-)
So there's no PPO2 control? So max depth is 6m and does the rebreather inject O2 regularly into the loop to not have a hypoxic mix or how does it work?
Hi Johannes, no, there are no controlls, cells, etc as on most O2 units. It is a pure manual rebreather, so oxygen has to be injected manually. The goal was the most simple and battleproof unit.

HI Fernando, As the unit is driven with pure Oxygen the recommended depth is 6 meters. Practicly the depth limit is 10 meters as, due to nitrogen in your body "washing out" you do not breath pure O2.. (Check out the ISE MAnual on oxygen rebreathers for more info - you find it in the dwonload area of the ISE website). Hi Andre and thanks for your comment. Although there are divers doing exactly that I would never recomend it. Reason is that a rebrether taken to depth but not used is very likely to flood. So if you have to depend on it for deco, that is not good :). Cavers often stage small rebreathers at deco depthm which is safer but still has this risk and requieres OC bailout which in my opinion makes it obsolte in most cases. (Btw - a D7 for 40 meters is a bit rough regarindg gasplanning :D) Hope this helps.
What sort of duration at "normal" operating depth is the Gills 2.0 designed or expected to achieve? Do you reckon it will be limited by sodasorb saturation or O2 volume? (great name for the set btw!)
Hi Steve. Thanks. I would recommend a time limit of 2.5 hrs by very condervative oxygen limits. Gas will not be a limiting factor with the unit at all. The sorb would last for 3 hrs for sure.
