Thank You Brother, this is needed. My mom told me to read the Steven Pressfields book since I was a kid. It was a big impact on my intro to being creative and making shit.
Really good points in here! What really helped me, was realizing that all the people i look up to are regular people. They chill with Netflix too, they enjoy life, not caring if people think that it makes them less of an artist. To me, a real artist creates without the weight of expectations from other people. Most of the art/music i really love is straight to the point, uncompromising and unpretentious. One of my favorite quotes is from Robert Smith, one of my biggest inspirations. ''Its all just rubbish, who cares in the end?'' Great video, very inspiring.
it’s been a long time since I posted a comment in a video I’ve been thinking about this for a while, the bar for being a “artist” is too high these days, I stopped doing music because I always felt like my music was not in the standard of being artsy enough to breakthrough somewhere I’ve picked up music again and have been enjoying the process in a whole new perspective, being able to create something that you enjoy should be enough Don’t stop de videos, really enjoyed the tutorial and I’d like to see more Also I wouldn’t mind a walkthrough on how you edit videos I started doing some tutorials for Brazilian viewers as 98% of the information for making music from your bedroom is in English Sorry for my English, cheers from Brazil
Really appreciate this leo - everyone says external success shouldn’t matter but realistically if you want to keep doing this for a while it really does. My mindset now is kinda to try and be me and hope that resonates with enough people to make it viable, rather than trying to be some image of someone I’m not. I think everything we want might just come from enjoying the process. Makes me happy to hear you’ve picked it up again mate, keep creating :)) I’m still v new to editing and shit so maybe down the line lol Oh also just came back from rio that shit was fun hahahah
