We are all surrounded by microorganisms, they live on us within us and around us, they affect everything we do, yet most people have no idea what they look like. Using the latest technology it is possible to see into this normally invisible world

It is a beautiful yet horrifying video. only thing I wished you had flashed the names of the organismsalong with them.

Just given the amount of complexity in this video alone.. It's an entire universe in and of itself. Gives food for thought, what if our universe is considered by some beings in the same way as we view 'the bacterial universe'

Spectacular. Also, for Teri: Science is truly amazing when one explores it. The complexity is far more breathtaking than any of the hundreds of stories man has yet thought up to explain it. The mechanisms of chemistry involved in creating life are well understood and need no miracles or gods, and yet science can be spiritually fulfilling all by itself.

Its crazy when you go from the microscopic world to the real world I could easily see the resemblance and how animals can evolved and adapted quickly to many different things like them self's and the environment

A kind of consciousness sounds right to me, when you witness the complex behaviour shown by these microscopic creatures they must have some awareness otherwise they could not have evolved to behave in such a complex way - a tautological argument maybe but how else to explain their existence.

Microorganisms actually respond to the chemical compounds and physical status of their enviroments by activation of molecular pathways that express genes, and synthesize proteins to do all the functions you see; to move -for example- the protozoans have ionic channels that detect changes in the concentration of particles and produces a depolarization of their membranes, that activates some proteins called actin and generates those caracteristical rapid movements. They have not consciousness.

The patterns and chemical structure of paint in the "Last Supper" is well understood as well. But very soon into the future, you will know that science never knew even a single percent of everything that can exist. And possibly, will never know. Believe me, in ideal form, spirituality and science should co-exist. It is when you learn that knowledge alone doesnt have any value at all, but the ability to choose the perception of knowledge is. In infinity, only God is your compass. Whatever it is.

Well said, I concur 100%. The tragedy is how few seem to truly appreciate just how profound it all is, just us being here exchanging these words is kind of mind blowing to the point of impossibility, the mechanisms involved and the processes that led to this moment, yet here we are. If I talk like that to a believer they will cite that seeming impossibility as proof of God's creation. I'm not Atheist though, labels are not for me because frankly I just am.

+Sinclair Stammers oh wow thank you! I couldn't contain my curiosity. Not only are they simply magnificent to adore, but I was astounded by their relative velocity. They recoil incredibly fast and I've decided to make it my project for the day to see just how quick that action really is and how they are able to do it. I know nothing about microbiology, but this video has peeked my interests!
@CMMikeAdamsPFForensics
@CMMikeAdamsPFForensics 7 лет назад
I also researches that and was told that since Vorticella do not have muscles they have to do it another way. That appears to their ability to manipulate the amino acids in their protoplasm. At least I think that is what it meant. Did you find anything?
