Welcome back everyone, as we continue on our journey towards enlightenment through the lens of Grant Morrison's The Invisibles!
In this episode we discuss Volume 2: Apocalipstic, issues 9-16, covering such topics as Gender and Identity, Time and Space, Initiations and Transcendence, Collateral Damage and what it means to be innocent in a war you unknowingly play a part in.

I gotta say Troy's comment about the "junk drawer" is the most bitingly insightful thing in this episode. The chaos in order, the order of chaos, how all things that are are but a compartment of something greater. As above, so below. The world is a junk drawer.

This is when the invisibles begins to make sense for me. Volume one is more like a test drive in this world, concepts and type of storytelling. You can see Morrison having fun with it, taking the reader along with him. You guys deciding to do this series was the initiative I needed to come back to this spectacular mess of a series! Keep up the good work; reading along with you 🪄❤

Just when you think you've passed the Test, the REAL Ordeal begins. As individual characters undergo their own initiations, the pivot point of his/her/their existence is radically shifted, not only physically (Dane's Finger, Hilde's Physical Abuse, Gideon's Wound), but psychologically, as well, leaving all involved forever Altered, "Good" and "Bad" Guys, alike. As put in FUTURERAMA: "You've SEEN It! You can't UN-SEE It!!" These were already fascinating people fresh out of the Box: It only gets Terrifyingly Better in the Worst Possible Way for them all. Blank Badges all 'round! 🖖♾⚪ ps: That Rexiness NEVER gets Old! (I just added "Rexiness" to Google Dictionary. You're Well-Come.)

40:20 - “Edith says to call him boody” In that same “call him Boody” scene from ‘Best Man Fall’, we’ll later see in volume 2 issue #10 that the hand of glory projected Ronald Tolliver into Bobby’s room. The time disturbance from the hand of glory also projects the voice saying “Edith says to call him boody”. Later in volume 2 issue #22 in the conversation with Dane and Satan, there is a zoom-in on a fly on Satan’s hand, we see- “And then Edith said to call on Buddha. But her didn’t hear her properly.”

@@GreggNowhere a project I'm part of called the invisible salon has been powering through, though we are more of a project inspired by than an actual retrospective, but we have need returning and reading though again (and for some of us for the first time if there is such a thing) and yeah, it's been happening.

@@GreggNowhere we are on here under that name, and also Facebook, most of our work has been in creating video and audio rituals, so we have a bunch of stuff on Bandcamp as well as vimeo
