The suffix is < ion> and does not say " shun" We spell suffixes, we don't pronounce them.

Hello Jay and Vicky this is Sankaran from India... I am one of your students on RU-vid.... I am basically a Receptionist at star hotel I always read English newspaper during my shift and I read English books in the morning as soon as I have roused from my sleep for one hour and I read one hour in the night before I sleep.... Is this okay to enhance my vocabulary and fluency or do I have to read more?

Hello Pichai and well done you! It sounds like you are doing a great job with your English. There's a lot of research into what methods work best when you're learning a language and one thing that all the researchers agree about is the phenomenal power of reading. It's great for grammar and vocabulary development and I'm sure you'll feel a lot of progress very soon if you haven't already. How is your listening? You're clearly watching RU-vid videos which is also very beneficial. And is there any particular aspect of English that you feel you'd like to know more about?

Should schwa be pronounced or there is an elision of schwa in this type of words？

Hi Yonghao. Great question. Although we write two vowels here, we normally don't say a vowel sound - not even a schwa. So for example 'decision' would just be /dɪˈsɪʒn/ not /dɪˈsɪʒən/ I can't think of any exceptions, though perhaps some other readers can.

Hi Jennifer. The verb would be to immerse. It could also be an adjective. eg I'm immersed in work at the moment. And the noun is immersion which has the suffix -ion. Hope this helps.
