SUMMARY:
Prendick floats adrift for 3 days before he is rescued by a passing ship. No one however believes his tale, as at the risk of being put in an asylum, he shares his story with only 1 person, another doctor who also knew Moreau. Prendick feels the city too intense for him, and his constant alertness is tiring and terrifying. Every city sound seems, to him, to be a Beast creature coming for him. He thus decides to quit London for the country side where he lives quietly, reading great books of science and studying the stars, hoping to find some sense of meaning in them...
