Agreed. The 'spacey' design is OK as far as it goes but doesn't suit the character of the watch, or any watch really. Maybe Mark should redesign the word 'Islander' but in a 1930's, New Yorky, Woody Allen style font?......😉

That dial is really great. The island watches are catching my attention also. The quality seems to be good also. I do think a no date would be a good option. Best to you and Happy New Year.

Great review. Love your channel with it’s fun and lighthearted reviews. You’ve stayed true to yourself and haven’t sold yourself out to Rolex and other luxury brands. Island watch is amazing. I’ve seriously contemplated just collecting their watches.

Have to say that I like the watch overall as well as the logo. Glad the date(is well sized) window is dressed up, something that many more expensive watches lack. The references number sounds cool in my opinion. More color options and logo on the clasp are the only additional improvements I can think of.

Ahhhh ... the Red October 😔 After you mentioned this watch, I wrote Marc @ Long Island Watch and he told me it was all sold out and there were no re-issues of that version. 😢 However, this blue dial on this ISL-33 is just fantastic. Great combo with the brown leather strap 🙂👍🏼

The white printed logo doesn't work for me. Metal applied logo would have been nice. // Edit: Having looked at the white one, the black printed logo looks okay there. Perhaps the addition of the blue dial here overwhelms the logo and makes it look out of place.

I think its the NH35 that has Date only and the NH36 is Day & Date but that's cool the No Date is NH38, like all your videos

Great review! Wishing you the best in 2021! Nice watch, but I think logo is not great looking. How about a more attractive/interesting looking logo? A watch shaped logo on a watch ... kinda redundant to say the least. Anyway, have a happy and healthy New Year!

LOL. It was Orange Crush :p. SG-1, in case you were not aware, takes place after the movie. It's just a tremendous series and is pretty fun. I vaguely remember Continuum. Was that the one with the hottie detective from space? or the Future or something?

Do you mind dingleberryes (if thats how you spell it 🙈)? I have a small wrist too and it's hard finding short straps. Should I stop caring and just rock the longer straps?

NO! You should get the right straps that fit well! A gentleman doesn't wear over-sized watch bands! :p Have you tried StrapsCo bands? They come in many lenghts! Also, Barton Elite silicone bands are amazing for smaller wrists as they come with TWO different long ends!

@@minitwatch I would say it's good. My only complaint is the date window in white, few similar Seikos have it in negative and it looks much better. Overall its a nice watch, I like it.

Not a bad looking watch but I see no reason to purchase it either. You can get a Bambino for almost half the price if this is $200. Meh. Nice review.

Alas, the Bambinos have their own issues. The small second one could have been great, but then it has this horrid date window that destroys the classic design, particularly on the champagne dial. And then of course comes the size -- 40.5 mm and 12 mm thick. It's supposed to be a dress watch, fer crying out loud. Someone put it on a diet.
