nice to see another pteranodon fan tbh it's usually all i've been playing lately with the exception of deino. just an all around fun time, especially with this new update adding so much more for them to do.
The problem with pachy now is that they are too slow. Cera can run it down and pachy can no longer stun, meaning Cera gets a hit on pachy every time pachy attacks. It’s fine against raptors but when there’s 20 Ceras per server pachy isnt really viable
Ptera and Beipio are the most versatile and have the best survivability stuff, perfect for new player. easy food, easy escape, big survavibility. and ptera give you the oportunity to explore the map easily.
Carno from my experience can actually hunt ceras quite well. I’m not some god-tier player or anything, but even in packs of 3 if you focus one, charge in, bite then run away, rinse and repeat you can tear through most ceras with relative ease.
Troodon really needs to be at least 2 shot instead of one. Because you look everywhere and no animal and the instant you start to chat carno or raptor comes out of nowhere and kills your whole group. You get to 50% and get group of 3 you gonna die 2 seconds later.
Was enjoying a walk as my tiny little 5.5 ton Stegosaurus. Was attacked by 2 Ceras. Was hurt once when they first attacked me. After that it wasn't even 10 tail whips and they were both dead.
I love the Ptera but I think it lacks in flight control and from what we think we know of them they were competent swimmers / divers but splashing in the water in The Isle is a death sentence. Flying in Beasts of Bermuda for instance feels great and you're able to dive into the water and catch fish and take off again as we imagine to be them to have done. Plus if they could dive in and out of water you have even more chances for a Deino feast on a bird. That said the most fun I've had after hopping back into the game yesterday was indeed Deino after a few repeat deaths to my own kind ( 2 of them in a group terrorizing the lake ) I started figuring him out and started to get away from and stay hidden long enough to actually grow beyond a juvi and it was quite awesome.
Can I ask what kind of diet you'retalking about spawns at NW for pachy? You mentioned that it doen't struggle with the diet issue as much as other herbies but I find it to be quite the opposite, considering how often it has to eat as well.
As well as this, Pachy absolutely can't defend against all carnivores, especially because of it's huge nerfs. Basically means anything larger than itself is off limits for combat entirely.
Sure. Horned melons and agave spawn in the plains. And the coconuts spawn in the western coastal area. And pachy can cause bone break, so it’s able to fend off larger carnivores if it needs too.
The server I play on has relatively many stegos (including me). I think 10 people can easily play with them. And that doesn't seem like much compared to the 150 players on that server. But if 3-4 stegos are in one place, the dominance tilts towards them, and most carnivores don't even go near them. At most they just run around. But they don't achieve serious results, they just waste their time. I have the stego S tier, but only because it fits my playing style.
You pack the map full of more food there is little to no reason to leave an area. Just eat, and sit in a bush all day. Makes life hard for a carnivore. Force herbivores to roam the map and even get them into a more central region makes combat happen more often as well. The next map with migrating diets is going to make the game a lot more fun IMO. If you don't care about perfect diets you can grow pretty much anywhere btw. Playing deinosuchus is hella more boring than a stego also. Both are dull once fully grown. No one really attacks you aside from your own species. At least a growing stego gets some action. I've gotten a few deinosuchus to 100% now, without interacting with a single other player (on full 130 player servers). People know where safe water is at this stage of the game. I mean if you enjoy killing fish AI all day, then you do you lol. Cera I am torn on. It really sucks vs a well played carnotorus. With other cera though, you can bacteria lock people. Making others vomit lock is pretty fun. Solo wise though, cera sucks. Avoid open plains where carnos will charge and murder you. Jungle combat is a lot more fun. Seeing anything in the jungle to hunt is such a pain though. In the end carntorus is a lot more fun to me.
Beipi just seems too safe, which I hate to say bc some animals feel too dangerous to play. Once you're a full grown beipi and you've gotten movement down nothing can touch you.
Despite carno being my favorite dinosaur… I’d put it in d tier because the hunger is just too low for something that already has bad stamina and not really a good scent range But this isn’t my list
I love the Beipi but my night vision underwater doesn’t work at all and I can’t see hardly anything. Is this a known bug? And is there anything I can do to fix it?
It's not a bug. It's how Dondi originally made all night vision to stop people using the gamma hack until he worked out something different when everyone complained. I honestly don't mind it. It means they need to find a safe place to dry out and sleep the night.
Hard disagree with Deino. They have one of the most boring playstyles, super slow, and most of the time you can't even hang out with other Deinos since they'll just eat you. I would only put them in B tier because it is fun to lauch out of the water and scare other dinos.
Agreed. They need to add spino or something to the ecosystem to the water dinos to give them a match up. The only fun time I had on deino was when a stego entered the water in a bad spot, where the other side wasn't as low as they thought. I had to bite them a good 15 times, but took down that adult. Then had to run away when 2 deino came by =\
The fun with deino, in my opinion, I’d the fact that they are the top carnivore in the isle with stegos and other deino’s being the only thing that can challenge them.
I have a bunch of fun with Deino. Deinos will only attack you if they're grouped, mega bored, and you don't say anything as you pass through. I always say hi as soon as I log in, make my presence known, and am just generally friendly. I can certainly hold my own in PVP though, and what usually happens is I end up amassing a Deino army against something like a stego.
@blakewang2373 there are some servers with free grows. Or at least there used to be. Look for The Zoo. It’s not a practice death match arena. But it’s the closest you’ll find I think.
No. I disagree with how their lead developer often talks and treats content creators so I have not signed up to be one of their content/stress testers. I’ll play it when everyone else gets it. Looks like a great upgrade to the map structure though!
Look, I really like the carno but its not what you make it out to be. Its always hungry and at least half the food will debuff you, its very annoying. The adult carno also has worse stamina than me irl, he can only run for 15sec and hes out of breath.If they just made the diet less tedious, not debuff you for everything you eat OR made hunger deplete slower the experience would be a lot more enjoyable.
@@J72Gaming i play classic now. i dunno i think evrima is a downgrade. they removed so many things. Dinos in evrima are better but you cant really spot other players and food spawn in evrima is meh i think
In Legacy you could sense the footprints of players and you could hear a player when talking in a group chat or in global. this added a lot of immersion to me as you had a way to actively find players. In Evrima they removed this and there is literally no way to find a player who is moving in bushes. You can even run in bushes and the other player cannot find you unless you bleed. Yes, players in Evrima can use local chat for their dino type but its way more limited than classics global or group chat so people don't use it at all.
You can still sense footprints. It’s just more isolated on a footprint rather then a general yellow glow. Also, every creature generally makes more sounds. Both when idle and when talking/typing in chat.
I agree with MOST of the list. However the top tier Alpha predator is the Stego, The insulting bias the developers have for the creature is nauseating. Three swipes of the tail and it kills EVERYTHING in the game. Plus it causes and attracts multi packing which most people hate. I'm only surprise the developers didn't allow faster carnivores to bring there multi packing friend fruits and foods to exchange for all the meat the Stego provides it's multi packer friends. It's ridiculous, so much so that rumor has it they're removing the Stego from the game and NOBODY believes it. Nobody!
I just bought and started the game. I don't want to come out as a smart ass with 7 hours of play time but can't you team up different species? Like the spit dino could blind while raptors take a target down? I don't think every dino is ment to smash.
What you are describing is called “mix packing” and yes. It’s done often. Some frown upon it, while others enjoy the concept. Some server straight up ban it and have rules against it. As far as game mechanics go, you can only “officially” join a group with your own species.
@@J72Gaming interesting. There is always voice chat. The bird probably the best dino in game. You can scout pray or war your buddies. Don't understand why they would be against cross species team play as the game intended it and its also found in nature.
Diet system if Fun and one of the only real things you can ''grind'' in the game as keeping an perfect good diet is hard. But I think Carnivores suffer more about the diet then herbs do.. Simple cause Herb's food does kinda a line with where they are meant to be found.. Pumpkins, potato.. etc.. But Carnivores diet is harder to really find as it need to be an specific dino in the game AI or players.. and AI is just Shit.. total shit right now, They barely spawns and are very hard to find. Player dino can also be really hard to find specific ones, as it demand that someone is playing it at the time.. and where the diet say they are.. don't line up at all with where you find players.. So I do think diet for Carnivores are a bit harder to keep up then herbis are. in my personal experience.
But carnivores can receive all diets from every non-AI prey. Hit the body a few times with your attack and press G to remove the organs and eat those to receive a lot of nutrition, independent from the meat type in the body. Heart always give S, lungs always give 3 dots and intestines always give // diet. You can get like a perfect grow diet from a SINGLE player you kill.

You really gave Tenonto more than it deserved. Even though it's not as bad now, its stamina has always been lacking, and its combat power is...fairly wanting. A saying I've taken to is "It takes one of the most skilled tenonto players to be able to survive against carnos that barely understand the basics" A bad carno is still able to body a good tenonto just because of the carno's punishing offensive power, especially with the charge, and tenonto is forced to fight because it covers less ground with its stamina than any of the predators do, and not having the ability to escape even as an option is sad in itself.
One of the most skilled teno players can take 3 bad carnos without relative problems when a carno starts being in the same boat as a great teno player you still need two, you talk about offensive power but the kicks are one of the most devasating weapons in evrima atm if it doesnt outright kill carnos it does extreme amount of bleed. Carno isnt in the same realm when it comes too teno brawler capablities and its not a defensive creature its rather made for countering even a tenonto on deathbed can wreck havoc if it can get a stun in.
The thing is that VERY skilled teno players are far and few and few in between for what you think is a skilled teno player there still abselute monsters roaming around, i consider myself farily good, some others consider me a master while i know tenontos that are abselute killers they havent met before. So that says enough about the rareity of skilled teno players, and then we not even talking about the different fighting styles alot have.
