This is a very practical style of casting and very suited to our river in UK. I was taught this alternate style by my friend and when used with the correct tackle a 7ft 6 inch fast action rod with a 3 wt it is a joy to behold. Please do the world a favour though remove this horrid 1970s bad TV soap music from the back ground.
I think they are all suitable for launching small classes and very short distances up to 10 meters, and only for dry flies. In all other cases not needed. Regards Gio.
Just had to pause the video to mention that the tightness of that forward cast loop at 3:31 was a real panty dropper. Bravo Massimo. Bravo signore. Some serious technique there.
Nice! I got to be honest though, I have all kinds of whacky casts from being in the brush here in Missouri. I am a 2nd Generation Italian American. I would call my style crappy at best :-) but I catch fish!
Probably you are always fishing in the same situation, therefore you don't need these "special" casts. When somebody is a better caster than you are, don't criticize, accept the fact. Learn something from this. THIS is fly casting at its very best !!!
