I thought thats what he said lmao i had the video on my second screen, while gaming and i thought that was the name of the game until i read your comment
I feel it’s important to note that JBPP1 was NOT designed with streaming in mind, and that the market didn’t really open up until pack 2’s release. Also, there are always a few games without streaming intended every now and again, (Fakin’ It, Zeeple Dome, Fibbage Enough About You, Role Models, etc) which is a good thing for most players who don’t stream or play with massive audiences.
When I first played word spud my friend told me to write a sentence rather than word. So I always thought that that was the intention and we wrote a story about wario trying to find my friend’s feet pics
@@funifrog6524 yeah exactly lol, I dunno why they can do this in Tee KO (and I think a couple of their other drawing games) but it's just a no no for Drawful. contrary to popular belief, being unable to accurately guess a prompt because the drawing is too wonky is not very fun
You Don't Know Jack 2015 is basically a slightly updated version of the YDKJ game released in 2011, which is a little problematic since the game is designed around controllers with low latency
Since me and my friends are super immature, when we played Survive the Internet I literally almost died of laughter from a stupid prompt I made. I love Jackbox so much
Super excited to hear all your thoughts on the series! Word Spud is so weak.... I still assume someone came up with the idea that 5 games would provide a better "Pack"-feel like a week before release, and they slapped that one together. I'm interested in your emphasis put on pacing and streaming. To me, they tend to feel less important when playing in person. Someone is always a bit slower than the rest, and you wouldn't want them to lose just because it took them a few extra seconds each time, and it leaves a bit of time for people to joke around and chat between rounds. Being ocassionally slow, and punishing non-hosts online are super important considerations still. Great work overall!
In the first couple packs, the games were intended to be played in the same room because streaming wasn't that popular yet. Not to mention when people tried to stream for viewers to play online, there was a 30 second lag which made playing a real pain. Luckily in later packs they added extended timers.
We got pack 1 years ago and we really just played drawful and fibbage. Later my friend got 3 and 4 (probably the best ones) I got 5, my friend got 6. I’ve actually never played 2, so I’m excited for the next one!
You know, I always wanted to play this but I thought that everyone needed to pay $25 to play this so thought against it... until I learned it’s main appeal today, thank you
Some 90s Slasher I wouldn’t get it if it isn’t on sale, but if it is for cheap, it’s fine enough. If you were to only get one pack though, I highly recommend Party Pack 3. I haven’t played 6 so I can’t confirm if it’s my favorite of the whole series, but I think you get the most quality, variety, and bang for your buck with Pack 3. Tee KO is my favorite Jackbox game- that, Quiplash 2 and Trivia Murder Party from Pack 3 are worth the full price alone. I checked the website though, and Pack 3 and all of the packs are on sale right now! It’s actually hard to find a time Jackbox Party Packs *AREN’T* on sale haha. But yeah, get Pack 3 if you get any one. Especially if it’s on sale.
You can actually play lie swatter with up to 1000 people, my guess as to why it says it only supports up to 100 players (wow did I just say only 100 players) is that it's the maximum player count that it recommends, as the game starts to glitch and lag out quite a bit when you have quite a lot of people.
Ahhh the Jackbox series. I remember being introduced to this back in 2017. This series allows to play without buy any game and use the phone is great. It one my favorite and until this day whenever I time I always play a bit. So I definitely looking forward to seing a review of this series. This also a great point of a retrospect as at time of writing this Jackbox Party pack 7 is coming up this year so it allows for a revisit. 😉 Yeah... The 1st Party Pack is pretty much outclassed. Being the first has a lot of limitations so no wonder it would outclassed quickly. A minigame selection is ok but definitely outdated by the later packs:I love Lie Statter thanks 100 players and the fact being a simple truth or lie questioning. It my favorite of this pack and for the other well... Drawful, Fibbage XL and You Don't Know while still great to play they outclassed the other packs (with Drawful 2 separate) and word spot.... What else I can say, I didn't like it 🙄(Probely my least favorite it). Overall I give this a 3 out 5.Sold for the 1st entry but easy outclassed. And thus the Jornery begin. We have 5 to go. 😉
These party packs are phenomenal, they’re a blast to play with your family and friends! If you are on the fence about picking some up, I definitely recommend it!
8:26 The reason why there’s so many is this game was actually meant for theaters. People would do the usual Jackbox thing and play. It never was played in theaters as, while it tested positively, theaters would be losing money playing Lie Swatter than promote a movie trailer
My friends and I would play Word Spud similarly, writing stories with the word. One time we wrote a story about a romance between Pee Wee Herman and Morgan Freeman and it's one of the best games to play if your friends are creative/witty/writers/etc. My friends and I didn't even know how to originally play the game, cause we found that just writing stupid (basically fanfic) stories was a lot of fun.
I've lately been jumping on random twitch streams and playing. Last night I played mad rap city and owned everybody. They were extremely confused who I was and they all changed their strategy to try and beat me. Good times
omg i'm new to your channel and wanna say thank you for shining a spotlight on the jackbox party pack series! it's such a fun series and i can't wait to see more of your jackbox and other content!!!
I feel like not having a undo or a erase button is kinda like a gimmick of sort. It makes it harder to guess what it is so you gotta be more careful when you draw. I don’t know how to word it
one of my friends introduced me to thejackbox series last year and we play it every month. We only play Party pack 3 and 4 i think but when the following ones are on sale I'll check them out!
I would like to point out that when I played lie swatter with Silok, I ONLY answered Lie for ALL of the questions AND WON. That's how broken the 75 speed points are.
This Guy Will Probably Finsh The Reviews By The Time Pack 8 Releases Edit: *THIS MAN REALLY WAITED UNTIL THE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION TO RELEASE NOW THATS DEDICATION*
A lot of board games with a "get points if people guess your fake answer" system will punish whoever's turn it is if every player gets the correct answer, or if no player gets the correct answer, but reward them equally otherwise. I think that system is brilliant, punishing that player for trying to make the correct answer either too confusing or too easy through duplicitous means.
Curious what you’ll have to say about Guesspionage when you get to the third Party Pack. That’s the only iffy one out of that bunch, IMO, but even then, it’s made so much better if you play with a stream audience.
