This is why my go-to games are always by Light and Wonder. You all probably know this, but the company was renamed and changed several years ago and were formerly Williams. So a lot of their talent, connections, and way they view the industry remains the same. They definitely focus more on being entertaining, IMO, with interesting modes and bonuses. Less volatile as a rule, but also not quite the enormous payouts, most of the time. I mean, if you're going to (usually) lose some money to a slot machine, why NOT have fun doing it?
