This is absolutely incredible. Facility/Deadly Science is legit the most perfect blend of the VG and movie versions of the music, like holy shit, you NAILED Eric Serra's sound
I just wanna say, since 2021 I’ve been looking for this album- I am straight killed by the quality of this album; You have NAILED Eric Serra, and made your own take I APPLAUD YOU!
to say this soundtrack is absolutely astonishing is an understatement. This sounds exactly if Eric Serra composed the n64 game rather than Grant Kirkhope, and over FIVE HOURS of this too? i can just imagine myself gunning down all the guards in-game with the kf7 while listening to this. if i could get this on vinyl i sure as hell would, and i absolutely LOVE the subtle references to kirkhope's version in some of the tracks. This album deserves all the recognition it gets. I would've loved to hear this in GE25 had it been completed, and the fact that MGM had even the thought of shutting down a harmless project both disappoints and angers me. though it was a genius idea putting the music on music platforms rather than going in the bin, i would've been heartbroken so see such hard work go to waste. I am very proud of you and your work Yannick. This is one of the best albums from a small artist i've listened to in a long time.
Thank you very much for your amazing words and taking the time to write them down. Something I do not take for granted nowadays. I agree - it's better to release in some way as opposed to let it go to waste. But I'm still heartbroken, this score could and never will be experienced the way it should and was intended...
Just finished listening to it on Spotify the entire album (didn't realise it was on RU-vid) and it's one of the best Bond scores I've ever heard. I would honestly think this was produced by the official Bond franchise. Can't wait to hear the score for Spies Don't Die.
Hearing this beautiful melody is a comfort over the disastrous re-release that was GoldenEye 007 for NSO and Xbox Game Pass, and at the same time, it hurts to know that in 2022, we could have a great remake (GoldenEye 25) made by those who really love the game, but it was prevented by those who care little about the fans of this 1997 classic, which is so important for FPS on consoles. I'm still hoping that SPIES will fill this void that we have and that you, Yannick and Ben will never give up on your dreams. Congratulations Yannick! Note: you could be hired to compose the music for Project 007, because there's no shortage of talent here.
Bless your good heart Paulo. Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean a lot. SPIES is not being continued at the moment but I'm not slowing down. Hope to be able to announce what I've been working on for over a year now soon. Btw: I've applied for Project 007. Multiple times. Through multiple channels. Never got a response. But when I see what Bond game productions are being puked out through the official channels, I'd rather stay away from it anyway.
Trevelyan- For England, James? Bond- No, for the fans. This is this pretty much what we felt like what we heard in the N64 version. I wish we could've seen what the 25th anniversary would have been like if this is what it sounded like. Great job
I'm a huge fan of that Briefing tune, holy shit. You captured the 90's era, Brosnan Bond so well with it; this legitimately feels like a score from the movie's OST. Well done man, sincerley.
Exactly so! There are about 4-5 signature GoldenEye sounds on that machine like the rev cymbal, that weird sound from the Tiger scene etc. And there we were thinking for years, those were all hand-crafted by Serra :D
Whenever I have to do something that takes more than 10 minutes - cook food for instance, and I want a play list Without interruptions, this is My go to link. My girl friend has once asked, "Why do you always hear that Weird movie music when you prepare the dinner?"
I dont generally buy music these days but i definitely picked this album up on iTunes after i heard it. Amazing blend of both the movie and game OSTs while still making it your own.
Just saw a showcase of one of the levels from that cancelled project and the audio was phenomenal. Had to check this out and I'm blown away by it! Fantastic job!
Congratulations on a masterful set of work, Yannick! I look forward to listening and enjoying this many times. Perhaps I'll even load a couple of tracks into my GE:S maps soundtrack rotation!
I've been listening to this almost everyday and words can't honestly express how much I love your work on this soundtrack. Ashamed Goldeneye 25 was drowned by MGM but this gives me the chills when I hear this.
Thank you so much for your words. It made me very happy to read your comment. Yes, I agree. Especially looking at what GE was sacrificed for: A bodged, lazy emulation full of bugs not even a 25 year old game has.
Yannick I just want to let you know that after more then three years I still listen to this very regularly and I hope you will muster up the courage to come back to making Bond tracks, you really are one of the best in the scene. Please don't let yourself be discouraged by the MGM and Danjaq crazies. They're too busy destroying the franchise anyway. Keep it up and I am looking forward to seeing what you have next in store!
Thank you very much for your kind words - I'm glad you've shared them and still enjoy listening to this album. Don't worry - I'm working nonstop to be able to present my new project soon :)
@@DangerConGame Thank you so much Yannick, and uhhh, what would it take for you to un-private some of the Goldeneye 25 livestreams temporarily? I am so upset at myself for not securing them while they were still available. I was listening to Streets on multiple occasions and I just kept postponing to download the stream, just in case something would happen. Stupid me did not foresee what MGM and Danjaq had in mind. For real, how much money or whatever to share these things? After all these years I still think about it regularly. I would kill for some of these "unfinished" tracks, especially Streets as you incorporated that beautiful motif from the Goldeneye Tank Chase by John Altman, who sadly still hasn't released the full soundtrack on his Soundcloud.
@@masterTigress96 Honest to god I'd share those with you if possible but I've deleted everything for good. In hindsight maybe not the best decision but then again I can't really be mad about myself as I recall how I felt back when it happened... I'll be back with new livestreams and stuff soon though and hope I can give you something to digest that way at least...
@@DangerConGame Oh yes please. Don't feel bad about deleting them, although I would have murdered to obtain a copy. Could you maybe incorporate that iconic John Altman motif into one of your upcoming releases or livestreams? That would definitely soften the pain. Although I wish I would have secured those livestreams man, that will be one of the only regrets that I will take with me to the grave. The other ones will slowly fade away or I might forgive myself for them. But that one, will linger on until my passing. You were só passionate about the project and I wish you could get MGM and Danjaq back for that one. I still cannot believe that corporate greed and just straight up evil lives at those companies, who have nothing to fear for a franchise that they control and don't have to worry about competition. Unbelievable.
You have made an outstanding work mate!! I love the way you captured the artistry of Eric Serra and developed your own themes. I am so sorry Goldeneye 25 didn't make it. Thank you so much for sharing the score though!
this definitely has a Goldeneye meets Fifth Element sound to it. Nothing against Eric Serra, but a few of these tracks actually flow a better than his. When the Goldeneye OST was released, a lot of the criticism surrounded his overuse of oddly-placed vocals
This is absolutely thrilling! Fantastic how you've capture that Éric Serra vibe from the film score. The perfect expansion to one of my very favourite soundtrack albums. Best part: the Tiger helicopter escape music (sorely missing from the original score album)
Fantastic stuff! Big Bond and Serra fan here, and this score really does justice to both! Tiger Escape is the highlight for me! One of the best tracks of the film too, sadly missing from the original GoldenEye score album. Edit: just discovered, I wrote the exact same thing over here 2 years ago ;D
Thank you ever so much! Yeah, I still pray occasionally that one day we get a full GoldenEye score release with all the missing material like the mentioned tiger escape, as well as the intro to St. Petersburg etc...
Been waiting for this since you posted the Goldeneye Source tracks, Yannick. Thank you! Also went straight to Amazon and ordered it. Content like this deserves support!
@@DangerConGame Thank *you*, Yannick for all the work that went into this. Also, love the whole thing (on Strange Places at the moment), but the expanded Tiger Escape track holds a special place in my heart. That and the St. Petersburg cues are some of the best Serra sounds from Goldeneye - and if it wasn't for your hard work, we wouldn't have the expanded + recreations of each.
Absolutely incredible work, sir. I so miss this type of espionage music in the modern Bond films of today. The perfect balance of fun, serious, action and thrill. Eric Serra would be proud of your work. Question, how do you feel that the composers that have come since Serra have done with the Bond sound? David Arnold? Thomas Newman and most recently, Hans Zimmer? Do you have a preference for one over another in regards to how one composer did the Bond music? Every time I watch Goldeneye, I just feel like Eric Serra hit that perfect sweet spot that most just haven’t been able to match. Keep up your fantastic work.
Thank you so much for your kind and flattering words. They mean a lot. I agree on the film scores not being as much fun, impactful, unique and enjoyable as they were... Arnold's music I love very much, that guy is a beast. His Bond scores are wonderful. Thomas Newman, while a great composer, failed to capture the Bond essence and sound completely in my opinion. It was generic, bland and uninspired. Zimmer I am personally not a fan of in general and also the NTTD score was nothing to remember. Again - always talking about my own opinion. Eric Serra was perfect for GoldenEye. It was the right sound for the movie. I cannot imagine him having done another Bond score however. It was taylor-made for the look&feel of GoldenEye. Also I cannot imagine a Arnold GoldenEye score.
I love this album, you have no idea. When I go for a walk or jogging or whatever, I'm always listening to this. And 30:46, my God, it's amazing. THIS IS AMAZING! You can feel the movie soundtrack, the game and even some nuances here and there of Goldeneye: Reloaded, and you just made it your own.
What a masterpiece! I am a longtime fan and just came back to the channel, I am sad to see that the Goldeneye content needed to be removed. I always enjoyed hearing you talking so passionately about the GE soundtrack and Eric Serra. There is one video in particular I am looking for, if I remember correctly, you were talking about how you were searching and finally finding the "steel drum/barrel" sound that is used in the GE OST. Can you point me to it? Thank you, Yannick!
Thank you very much for your kind words and it's great to have you back! I think the video you're refering to is outdated as I found the OG movie soundtrack sound. Here's a short video I've posted on twitter once: x.com/DangerConGame/status/1463472779894960134
I can't believe that the track "Bullets Or Jump" goes from goldeneye movie's ost "For england, james" (35:54), to something that can be used in 007NightFire (41:00)
congratulations on this masterpiece! I am thrilled to see how songs from the fps that I played the most in my life remade in this epic quality. I don't know if it will be possible, but I hope that one day you will produce this game again with another name and without references to James Bond. Thank you, Yannick!
Watching Graslu00's debut of Facility at GE25, I could see how you perfectly matched the music to each moment. I never get tired and never will get tired of congratulating you, Yannick!
Amazing score Yannick. 😍 Sad with what happened to the original project you and Ben was working on. 😢 But i do think your new project will be very good and with the new score you will make(?) I think it will be a blast to play. 😁👍
Just purchased the album via iTunes. All I can say is bravo sir! it's like the perfect homage to Eric Serra's iconic score, but somehow immaculately adopted for the feel of the original iconic game. It's soul-destroying that the powers that be came in and shit-canned this marvelous project - robbing fans of something we've all craved for, for 20 years. Still very much looking forward to Spies Don't Die though. Please keep up your outstanding work!
@@DangerConGame I hope I can find a way to replace / augment actual Goldeneye with these tracks, eg on emulator. Ppl are working on a PC decompilation so maybe one day. Your tracks would have been one of the best game soundtracks, though I don't suppose Rare had the room for five hours of music...
@@stevebobhorace Honestly, that would be quite a treat to experience. It's not as easy unfortunately because all the stems and stingers are compiled into tracks, so it's impossible to take that apart and use it, the way it was originally intended and programmed...
This is excellent beyond words. There are less than a handful of tracks from the film score that rely heavily on the modified splash cymbal/industrial/male choir samples, but now we are blessed with this marvellous composition. Thanks for all your hard work!
Congrats on this fantastic album Yannick and thank you so much for releasing it, despite the C&D! I was really worried after the C&D that all of the good stuff you we're working on would be lost forever. Also, I haven't completely finished listening to this album yet, but what happenend to the ¨Streets¨ score you did on livestream? Is in on the album or was it left out?
Oh man, i love this! Will be buying a copy when i get paid this month. The only thing... It's made me realise just how amazing GE25 was gonna be :( Still, looking forward to all and any Spies Dont Die news!
I discovered it on the Farcry Goldeneye Mode and was very impressed, it sounds so much like in the actual movie. While I can't say I love it more than the actual OST from the game but it's a very awesome nonetheless, the kind of music I could listen to while doing my work. 😁
Excellent score! I especially like how the male choir swells in occasionally in "deadly science", it really gives a mysterious, sort of surreal quality; one that makes you feel as though you're taking on something far bigger then yourself, pretty fitting! it sounds somewhat similar to a musical idea I have in my head, which makes me curios; How did you achieve it? did you use a real choir? I understand if you would rather not disclose your methods, but either way, I'll definitely be referencing your work here from time to time on my own personal music projects!
Thanks a lot for your kind words. Very cool to read. I love the thought that some people like you, might get a little inspiration from what I do or did. Just like some of my favorite composers inspired me. The choir actually is the "Dominus Choir" VST. A very neat piece of software that allows you to type in phrases for the choir, choose male and female parts and the dynamics are great. I've used the mod wheel to make them swell, bring them in and out and since the VST is so nicely done it sounds quite convincing. Additionally I often also like to add some delay on the choir channel.
This album is not in danger, it is the danger and the one who knocks! Oh wait this is not Breaking Bad. On a serious note, this album is 99.1% pure, well done Sir Yannick. I think I missed it but I wasn't able to hear the tank chase song, or has that been cut?
Haha, T. hanks a lot Walter! Tank chase was never composed since the level didn't get far enough in development, so I could start writing the music. Our tank level would've been drastically different than the one in the game, that's also why I didn't have an idea what the music was supposed to do in what segment. Same goes for Cradle.
But the stuff you actually did do for streets in That four video, what happened With That? Does That work exist or have you erased it from your harddisk?
What impresses me most about this album is your ability to compose each specific score for each scene and action in the game, you are a genius and I have no idea how to produce a work of art like this mixing the film's ost with that of the game, and not to mention that this soundtrack makes whoever listens much more immersed in the scene where it runs. I could see in Graslu00's video where he presents Facility how the song Deadly science behaves in each scene and player action. If I one day become rich and have a studio to create a game, I would definitely make you a proposal to create the game's ost. Can you help me with this doubt? Those choirs that are present at the end of the song "Overture" and here also in some parts, do they have any meaning?
Thank you so much for your kind words! They really mean a lot and appreciate you having taken the time to write them down. The choir sentences do not have any particular meaning, they mostly consist of some phonetic stuff I've typed in that sounded good to me in the context of the composition :) Take care and best of luck for your endeavours.
Goddamn this stuff kicks ass! This definitely scratches that GoldenEye/Eric Serra industrial style itch. All of theses songs are amazing and capture the ambience and feeling of both the movie and game PERFECTLY. You should be EXTREMELY proud with what you have here, it's a HUGE accomplishment! Most of the synths used here are all vintage stuff right? Like the Korg Wavestation and Roland stuff? And how did you get those unique samples used by Eric Serra? They sound so good and nearly identical, any chance you'd released those samples for others to use?
Excellent, very Serraesque. Heard it on a Goldeneye 25 video and thought the game used the original soundtrack of the movie. What have you used to recreate this kind of pipe tuned down / infiltration snare sound that is a Serra's signature ? (heard : 0:04 ) Know Kirkhope used the Infinte preset from Proteus EMU for the video game but I would really like to know what Serra used and how I can use it too !
Hey Yannick, sorry for the repeat question but just in case you don't see it on Twitter. I'd love to purchase this in the highest quality rather than a compressed MP3, so I wonder if you can point me to a storefront that offers WAV / FLAC download? Cheers and great work!
You know I love what you do and I miss your "making off" videos. I´ve listened to "Play it again Dam" over and over again. I hope you are open to some critique even though it doesn´t matter much at this point. I had expected a little more from Jungle and Aztec (Strange places). Maybe some spanish guitar for the Aztec thing. Same thing goes for Surface 2 (Siberian Outskirts). I know its a dynamic music system, but... Ya but something... I mean its good but... Ya I don´t know. Maybe some more melodic elements here and there would have done it. Besides there is one cue from the movie I´ve never heard you comment on. That´s the love theme. It probably wouldn´t fit into a game but still. In my opinion it´s one of the best pieces of love music for any Bond movie. Its up there alongside We have all the time in the world, but I´ve never heard you comment on it.
@@MrBrosnan1007 Oh I see it now, you were whining about lack of content and needing to announce to the world that you're going to other youtube videos.
Hi Yannick, how are you? Today I thought I'd listen to this soundtrack and take the opportunity to ask how your new project is going? I hope I'm not bothering you. A hug!
Hi Paulo Thanks a lot for asking. It is going slowly but steadily. Since we don't have a massive budget and not a huge team, it doesn't go as fast as big budget productions but we are making progress and everything is going in promising ways. Can't wait to share the first things hopefully soon. Best to you
@@DangerConGameThanks for getting back to me, Yannick! I'm extremely happy to know that you're still firm and strong with your project, because I've been very bored with the games industry lately. I imagine how hard it must be to maintain a project with little budget and little manpower. But since I know it's your project, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Hugs and all the best!
some in US Region like cptlima and my self are having issues buying via amazon DE . Is there a US link for it? Trying to use default site link but we're having payment processing issues (all right info etc).
Sure, it's on amazon in every country: www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B08X7HVMD3/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Yannick+Zenh%C3%A4usern&qid=1615026824&s=dmusic&search-type=ss&sr=1-1
Might be a stretch, but do you think I could use this in the Bond film I'm working on? I want to give the action scenes a GoldenEye vibe, and this absolute masterwork would fit perfectly!
