I don't know if it was funded by viewers knowing that the money would go to this trip specifically, but the idea of photographers using those funds to create meaningful work and turn it into a cool final project is awesome. You two are both great and I hope you'll collab on more projects in the future. The collab book between Alex Webb and his wife is the only other two photographer book collab I can think of off the top of my head, so this is a pretty original idea. Kudos for that as well. Love to see it.
Totally agree with what Alex says. There is so much more than just classic street photography. Don't just shoot in big cities. Just enjoy documenting everything you find interesting.
Immensely enjoyed this video, as I visited Shikoku and Kyushu with my friend (who was living in Japan at the time). Having only ever experienced Tokyo before, the rural side of things really blew me away. I actually preferred it to Tokyo. We visited Beppu and Fukuoka too, so it was nice to see these places again. Beppu felt like another world to me, with the steam rising up from everywhere. Unfortunately, despite being subscribed, I've only just seen this video so I've completely missed the chance to buy a book! Boo!
I received the photobook and truly appreciate the time taken to produce such a wonderful Book. I fell in love with Kyushu and you have truly captured it within. Thanks again!
So nice! There's a Japanese word - Setsunai - that is often linked to the rural part of Japan with old structures and places where time stands still. Setsunai means something between sorrow and joy; some kind of nostalgic feelings that are well suited for these kind of places.
Guys, it was very interesting💥!!! Congratulations on the publication of the book🎉! I think you could have a large print run in some publishing house. I would buy your book if it was more common) Especially when there is a video about book. That's cool🪄. Well done👍!
I bought it instantly as I've been waiting for this for a while! I was worried I wouldn't see it before I went to Japan myself this year. I've been following you guys for a few years now, and I'm happy that the first photo book I bought was a collaboration from both of you :) Cheers from Oslo, Norway!
I’ve only been to Japan once, but really want to go back and have a road trip around the countryside. It’s a country and people that has always fascinated me! Order placed.
Just bought the book, but I’m honestly confused about the price. TOO CHEAP! With free international shipping and good quality printing I don’t know how you guys are making any money on this. Can’t wait to get the book in my hands!! Congrats on a fun project.
I just ordered your book and left a tip for both of you for a cup of coffee :) To be honest I don't any interest in photo books in general, but the combination of street photos from both of you, who I discovered on YT and the topic Japan (fan here :D) caught my interest and made me buy your book. I'm curious how it will feel in my hands, from the video it really looks premium :) Since I'm hobbiest regarding photography and also shoot street here and there it's cool to have a physical copy of your work. Keep up the great work you two! :) Greetings from Esslingen / Germany
Oh thank you so much! We really appreciate it🙏 And we seem to have a similar philosophy when it comes to phonebooks : D For me it has to either be a good story or a photographer I want to support or see more work of printed. Thanks again and you might be our first order from Germany ;-)
Hey Sam, great vid and I wish I could buy a photobook but they're sold out! Way to go brother. Anyways I have a very specific question for you about the X-H1. I can't find anything about it online but sometimes when I'm recording it will just stop the recording and say "storing" I have very up to par sd cards so it isn't that. Did you ever have that problem with it or is it just mine? Haha. Thanks man!
@@AlexOnStreets thanks Alex. ✨ It was my mistake I just clicked the wrong link in the description and didn't look around the website to see if there was another page for just the collab project - and was confused when I saw the other option appear after. I shouldn't have assumed the print was a bonus. 🙏
Samuel I really enjoyed this video and congratulations on the book. Have you since abandoned the DSLR in favour of mirrorless? I have just gone back to DSLR like you did a year or so ago, and have bought a D750 with manual lenses!
Quick question: I obviously jumped on that link and oredered a copy, as I think many did. Since there is a limit of 200 copies, is it safe to assume that if the order went through it's because I got there in time? Or how does it work? Because my order is #1065 and idk what to think of it 😂
Haha! Thanks for the order first of all and you wouldn't even get to the checkout page if there is no more stock : ) So I think you are safe👍Hope you will enjoy it!
