Will see them at the Jazz Fusion Summit later this month. Japan is loaded with talent in every genre, but none more so than jazz/jazz-fusion. And I wonder if there's another country with so many first-rate all-female bands in every genre as Japan. And they move among genres so easily, including the rhythm section here that you praise. I'm especially impressed by guitarist Chizuru Segawa, who can play anything, I think. I remember seeing her at the Naon no Yaon female rockers' fest jamming with rock and metal guitarists (who themselves have all played multi genres).

Love this band, thanks to this channel. They have a new album with some great fusion-influenced tracks. Some of it reminds me of Weather Report or Jeff Beck on the mid-seventies. I didn’t know this song title until I watched this video a few months ago. Heard it many times over the years and glad I now know what it is called.

I can certainly hear what you were saying about the soprano sax (Ami Nakazono), some of the notes she played didn't come through that well. It's weird because I can't remember hearing that when I listened to it before. Also, she is an experienced musician (they all are) and Ami apparently graduated from the Berklee College of Music (just found that out). Maybe the mic wasn't just set up right or something I am not sure. Still I enjoyed the reaction, also it's always a blast listening to them.
