Having to explain to my kid: "Daddy why are you crying?" "He's playing daddy's childhood." Man you just had to toss in To Zanarkand in there. I was off balance and emotionally unprepared for everything after that.

"This is a non-commercial project. No revenue is generated from this video." That ladies and gents is what you call passion. Respect. But does that mean this will never make it to spotify... Welp you can't get everything
I had one of those moments where I kinda teared up with how beautiful it was, last time I did that it was the choreography in the Church scene from Kingsman
Man, and I thought the first movement was perfect. That movement was fun, but this gave me the chills, specifically Zelda’s Lullaby, Dearly Beloved, Aquatic Ambience, and the Mario 64 Staff Roll. Eagerly anticipating the remaining movements.
that transition from dearly beloved to aquatic ambiance gave me chills ... thats such a gorgeous, powerful but mysterious-sounding rendition of aquatic ambiance, i'd love to hear an extended/ full version ; - ;
Opening with the Halo theme?! Amazing touch, it means a lot to me! The way that all facets of gaming over these years get representation here is amazing. I'm glad I could be this early for such a masterpiece of the gaming world and community. These medley movements will be iconic for the years to come.
"To Far Away Times" kicked in just as a late summer breeze blew through my window and I had to stop what I was doing (working remotely) and just sit and soak up the moment. I got a little emotional. It made me wish for a moment that I was somewhere very far away with a lot less to worry about.
The best part (in my opinion) is at 4:34 when it transitions into "Aquatic Ambience;" I started wishing you had done a full sized arrangement of just that song with all these people. Still, the whole thing was breathtaking from start to finish, and the ending actually left me in tears the first time I heard it; it's that beautiful. 5 stars out of 5!
This is by far my favorite movement. The inclusion of not only the orchestral woodwinds but also the most calming tracks in video game history is probably the best combo I can think of. Personally my favorite is the Aquatic Ambience part. Although (besides Dearly Beloved) it’s probably the loudest part of the song. As a bass clarinet player, I copy Bari Sax a lot, but with a bit more melody included. Sort of a mix between bari and tenor 2. And the fact that the bassline of that part is really loud and important (and even the trombones having part of the melody) was really great seeing more than the saxes and trumpets getting all the glory, you know? Keep it up, I love your work!
Man, bari sax will already be my favorite instrument. I played it in middle school, and just listening to it in the background gives the song an extra layer and depth, with it's clear yet punching lows. Love the composition, keep doing what you do!
And I finished my finals! I thank you Carlos for your music always there for me! Your music has always helped through the hard times this school year, and I can’t thank you enough! Even when it seemed like nothing looked good for me. Thank you Carlos for helping me through this school year, and here’s to the future!
I never knew I needed an electric guitar for Dearly Beloved... Also Mario 64's Staff Roll, though short and sweet, nearly destroyed me. I've got this big doofy smile on my face from that.
Everytime I come back to this medley, I always find myself tearing up when To Far Away Times begin. Doesn't help that its preceded by Dearly Beloved, Aquatic Ambiance, and National Park. That's practically cheating your way to my emotions!
I love how at 6:50 the brass is just being obnoxiously loud (as they always are, but still make amazing music btw) while you can see in the background the tambourine player is just rocking it out in his small, soundproof recording studio.
They way Zelda's lullaby is arranged and played gives an overwhelming sense of comfort, like someone you trust so dearly is telling you everything will be okay, you can rest.
Despite never playing Kingdom Hearts, Dearly Beloved means a lot to me. When the song started, I was able to just sink back into my chair and listen to that calming piano come in. But I know you, you're not gonna let me off that easy. Then the guitar came in, then you kicked it up a notch. I was just...surrounded by a sound I didn't know could exist. Honestly it's a bit of a weird song in the way that is evokes emotion, at least it is for me. Your unique way of combining the original style of the song with how you choose to compose it helped me experience the song in an entirely new light. Thank you.

I just finished writing an essay about how music can invoke different emotional responses, and one of my points was about different arrangements of the same song do just that. I am in tears with this movement.
Carlos, you have really outdone yourself with this one! I nearly died at "Dearly Beloved!" I must say that this second movement added to the lush, fantastic, and engaging flavors of this project! Keep up the great work; you never disappoint!
I've never even played Final Fantasy, but your arrangement of "To Zanarkand" was seriously magic on Earth. You did such a great job with this entire suite.
The transition into 'To Far Away Times' is probably the best part of this movement... and Id really love to hear a full jazz version of that song in this style.
The Mario 64 Staff Roll is my all-time favorite piece of video game music, it made me so happy to see it round off this beautiful movement. This is beyond incredible
I would just like to let you know my high school orchestra did this movement last year and this year we are planning on doing the whole symphony, thank you for making this!
Alright, just listened to both movements and I told myself I wasn't going to cry but National Park had me in tears. And then the transition to far away times. Omg man so goooood
My heart goes out to the beautiful woman on the piano. As a guy who tried to learn the piano I just wanted to say what a fine jon she did all throughout. It's one thing to play a complex song fast and correctly, and wholly another to get a piano to sound gentle and emotional.
