These guys were my entire life in middle school. God I miss that era and culture if the mid 90s. Everything was in upswing mode. Everyone was happy and optimistic and hopeful for the future.
Everything you said sounds like things that occur to me (and I mention) often now. I know every generation looks back on their younger years and says they were better, but completely objectively I can say that the 90s were better than the present in multiple ways. And it did feel like we were in an upswing. For me, the JBs were high school. I remember hearing a call blasting out of the window of a car driving through the parking lot. I walked over to the guy, who was a class below me, and asked him what he was listening to. He played me a couple calls. Within two days I had a copy of the tape.
With the bench work, we got no problem... I'm good with the calves, thighs, the whole nine yards, AND I can rebuild those starter motors.... I probably misquoted exactly what he said, but holy man that set me off.
