Nine novices from the Kohima Region of the Society of Jesus professed their First Vows on June 21, 2009, the Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga. The celebration took place at the Ka Rympei Arrupe Jesuit Novitiate in Shillong, Meghalaya, which is located in the Northeast region of India. Now the vow men are "juniors" and will continue their university studies in Calcutta. Generous benefactors of the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus helped fund the construction of the novitiate complex, which was completed just a couple years ago. The complex sits about one mile above sea level. The surroundings are simply majestic and breathtaking.
