Psychocandy is one of the greatest records what’s not to like, the melodies the feedback it’s those records that make you think that are the best, William on some candy talking is probably the greatest thing I’ve hear and it would make any kid want to start a band
Pure gold. I remember listening to this on a walkman while walking down the school corridor beleiving i was as cool as the jamc for an instant. I then grew up, got a job, stopped back combing my hair but still listen to em to this day.
I always loved the JAMC and a big part of that was the achingly beautiful melodies lying beneath the firestorm of feedback and white noise. Never understood why there are not more covers of their songs. They could stand up to almost any treatment.
A song has to be very strong to stand up to being stripped bare like this and all of these songs are good enough ♥️👍😊 . Ps Where is the acoustic version of Psychocandy? Was on the double pack 7 inch release of Some Candy talking.
East Kilbrides finest The Jesus and Mary Chain ,,,,like their gigs back in the early days this lasts about 10 minutes ,,these acoustic demos were my introduction to the band ,,proof that there was melody and good tunes underneath all that feedback ,,,Psychocandy was a classic but these early demos have a certain appeal they never captured again ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlsL5m1nirs.html
I bought Pychocandy on cassette- played the hell out of it...my love affair with how you described their melodies etc began. I used to play Psychocandy at full volume- the brain jamming feedback ahhh heaven. All my friends asked " what is that shit you are listening to?" ...they were into the hair spray metal bands..some ppl have..no...taste
Birdland...........at least .some people remember them. Yes, the acoustic versions are great indeed. I still have the 7", 12", album, live prome lp and the Kamikaze Kids bootleg.
