1994. First trip to the US. London to San Fran. Smoking on planes. No inflight entertainment aside from a couple of films shown to the whole plane at set times... and a loop of 5 promo music videos - one of which was this song.... This masterpiece... 2 Minutes 33 Seconds of PERFECTION. Almost 30 years later i love it even more.

Just sitting on the train, on a Tuesday morning in Chicago and this song came to me! Haven't heard it , since '94, but it took me back there, for about 2 & 1/2 minutes.

my ex boyfriend made a mix tape for me and it had this song on it, the tape got played to death and eventually got chewed and i searched everywhere for the song before finding out it was the jesus and mary chain, so ten years later i'm still listening to it!! amazing song, i love them!

i was brought here by my great taste in músic while i was a teenager.

Wow this video reminds me of a great little bar in Old Towne, Alexandria called South Sides. I used to hang out there every Friday night till closing with my friends. It was such a wonderful oasis with a great cross section of humanity....retirees from the apartments across the street, newly graduated 20-somethings just entering the work force looking for cheap beer and good company and people like me, 40-year-olds with nothing particularly better to do on a Friday night than have a couple beers and hang out with friends. The vibe was just so incredible....three deep at the bar by 9PM....everyone so up beat, positive, going somewhere, doing something. And all the while music like this playing on the juke box as old and young alike conferred and shared their alcohol-induced, somewhat-incoherent epiphanies of life and its infinite mysteries and meanings. I'm heading back home tomorrow to spend the holidays with family and I have to say, I am SOOOO looking forward to getting a corner spot at South Sides and watching life in all its mystery and splendor unfold in front of me one more Saturday evening.

Glad that the label is willing to post this stuff again. This is a wonderful reminder of how good things were in the early to mid '90s when "alternative" music was fresh and exciting. When Hope stares at the camera at 0:42 and then coyly looks away gives me chills...

The guitar refrain in this is a straight lift of the opening bass line of The Pastels 'Million Tears' which came out 10 years earlier.

Such a great tune got lost in the 90s but still listening in 2020!! Album is great also!

Hope's so captivating in every way.She not only sings sensuously&affectingly, she writes evocative lyrics too,& has a rare genius for writing emotive,often melancholy-tinged melodies that can move a listener.& she has exotically lovely looks.Her Mexican ancestry means she,like 85% of Mexicans,is of mixed race:Spanish&Indian.Looking at pics of modern Mexican Indians,many have broad,round facial structure-like Hope's! Hope might resemble a Mayan princess from 1,200 years ago! Exotic beauty!
