Hey just a question why in the prayer we keep repeating "Lord jesus christ son of god have mercy on me a sinner" didn't Christ already forgave you? Because he's forgiving he forgave you from the first knot, I'm not against it but please i'd like an answer

We continually sin as we live our lives, even if the son of god already forgave us in his crucifix we still must repent and seek forgiveness for we are not perfect, and we find salvation in our suffering and repentance.

The prayer is the gospel as well, Christ, Who is Lord, and the Son of God, has come to have mercy on us sinners. And so, by filling our words, mind, and heart with this prayer, we stay humble before God ☦
