Now THIS is a real music video, it tells a story, it shows what the song is representing, it has so much hidden meaning and it's so powerful, you can "relate" to it, no matter how you perceive it. So many music videos these days are just all about sexuality and ego. I'm sick of seeing musicians in their own music videos, unless the song is all about themselves, they shouldn't be in the video!
Did this video won any prizes? I really hope so. It 's been a (very very) long time since I paid more attention to the video than the song. The powerful lyrics combined with the oil on glass animation are a perfect match. I confess, I'm deeply touched.
Oh man those drums give me goosebumps! 3:25 Sometimes I listen to the radio thinking is this all there is to music???? But every now and then something like this pops up and I remember how music is supposed to make you feel. I like the jezabels :)))
+Udarni Radnik yeah but in reality we need some shit and average music...so then when we hear good music and we know it's good because we compare it to the shit/average music... It's like happiness exists because sadness exists... real high exists because real low exist...etc... It's all about pleasure and pain / the yin & the yang
Every day is a major historical event. If you know which details to look. Also, life is not a game or a test. It is play, it is music... It is harmony.
This group is criminally under-recognised and under-appreciated - even in Australia. Hang in there. folks. Your day will come. Greetings from the other side of the equator - a cold, frosty Ireland.
Words cannot describe how exciting it is to see you put out new music again. I am sure it will be just as wonderful as all your previous songs. Thanks so much for everything you do.
So powerful. Excellent video. Happy that The Jezabels take this darker turn and the light that comes through the dark will be brighter. well done guys. Amazing vocalist and amazing band.
The announcement of the new album is the best Christmas gift I could have hoped for. This track reminds me of Darkness by Peter Gabriel, evil verse/uplifting chorus.
+Barre McNiven You're from The US? We have GOT to get them more notice here in the States! I often feel like I'm their only supporter here. Glad there are others 👍
I have been listening to the jezabels since their beginning I was in love with them, their latest album didn't filcame up to my expectations, but this one is sublime I can't wait for the rest.the sad part is that I live in Greece and I have no chance seeing you in person.congratulations on this keep up
You all are amazing, this video is quite powerful in conjunction with your sound. I look forward to seeing a live show by you guys in the (hopefully) near future. Come to Cincinnati! Please & thank you.
Stunning... that was so wicked cool. Love the tune... brilliant as always... and the video... WOW... what a wonderful piece. Come back to Toronto soon!
I like this song very much! It gave me a lot of positive emotions the last two years! I really like the music of the Jezabels! It resonates so much with me! The voice of Hayley is so special and also the piano and synths of Heather are so good! I have seen them twice live in 2014 in the Netherlands and it was so cool to see them! They played with so much energy and confidence! It was magical to see them live and I felt very exicted before, during and after the concerts! I had also a lovely short chat with Hayley one time and she was one of the kindest persons I ever met! She gave all kind of compliments and smiled all the time and was very interested in what I was doing. That was a very nice gesture of her and I am still very glad that she did that!
+Darcy Prendergast Beautifully done, congrats on this - it's really inspiring and immersive. If you happen to have any behind the scenes or process footage I'm sure plenty of people would be interested in seeing it!
+Clint Chapman Cool. I am buying a ticket for my friend for his birthday but to be honest it is an early Xmas present to myself as well. Saw them last time at The Astor and am excited that it is at the same venue again as it is one of my favourite shows ever. I also became a Gang of Youths fan as they were the support act on the night.
Whoever disliked this song and video are complete idiots and can't recognize true art. I will be adding this song to my list of Jezabels tracks that can be listened to over and over and over again.
I'm glad that Hayley has finally decided to give up on the ear-piercing shrieks, definitively a step forward, as she has a very sweet voice. The music is still as good as always.
