I have been listening to this song for years, sometimes I have periods in which I don't listen to it but when it comes back to me... It takes over my mind.

I haven't listened to this for a few years and the first notes took me straight back to another time.

for me, this is one of those songs....you cant not feel it physically within your body. it takes over you.

One of my favorite songs of the Jezabels! It was for me one of the best 13 songs of 2014. I saw the Jezabels two times live. March 2014, Amsterdam and July 2014 Rotterdam. (holland). They also played this song and it was very cool how Hayley danced on this song and played it with so much energy and passion. She had a lot of charisma and confidence and I got in a special state of mind because of this song! I have watched the live video's of those concerts a lot of times back and I still like this song very much! Hayley is also a very kind human being. I have met her once in a bar in Amsterdam before the concert and she was so kind to have a conversation with me. She had all kind of cool questions and was very kind! She had also a lot of compliments about me and she made me feel very special in only 2-3 minutes! That meant a lot to me!

I love The Jezabels I've seen em 4 times live the drummer is the best drummer in a band I've ever seen he creates the platform for the music and the other artist layer their talents on top. The guitar intro is perfect and the vocals amazing. Best Australian song of 2011 one of my favorite songs of all time.

when I was about 13 I had a dream about my grandmother who was very mentally ill. I had a dream where she kept screaming to my parents "not to lock her where the dogs bark." I told my father about it and he looked me straight in the eyes and said my mother used to say to us "please dont put me where the dogs bark." whenever she had to go in patient. Im now 35 my father had a psychotic break when I was 19 and never really came back from it. hes sort of like a ghost now. looks like my dad but isnt really him...or atleast he is lost somewhere in there. I only get a little glimmer of him here and there when he speaks...which isnt often.... anyways the first time I heard this song was around the time my dad went crazy this song and the line never where the dogs bark immediately reminded me of him...whenever I hear it I think of him.. and how I miss him even when hes sitting next to me. ❤

13 years later and still wow...

My new favorite alternative band since I've searched them up a week ago after seeing that danny macaskill - way back home video. Can't stop listening to them, the lyrics are so profound, her voice is haunting me when I try to fall asleep, the songs are well built with an epic climax, and also i think the drummer is a god.

Amazing band all the way around, and one of the best drummers I've heard in a very long time.

Saw these guys open for Katie Noonan the other night in Melbourne, although just went to see them, left after. Were brilliant as always, Hurt Me went off at the end. Loved Hayley taking her shoes off for it as well. Nik's drumming still does something to me everytime I listen to it.
