Great presentation. I enjoyed the historical perspective on the Tone Bender You captured classic tones in you play through. Would like to see the other Legends through put through their paces for comparison.

This is a good channel and the JHS channel is a good one too. Both very educational.

I have one of these and my major problem is with the enclosures. If you use batteries (which is common with fuzzes) the enclosure will stop working after opening and closing it a few times. The screw stopped catching on the metal for mine and it never stays closed anymore. An oversight in engineering imo.

@NewFalconerRecords 10 месяцев назад
I haven't encountered that problem and I use batteries when i play live, but then again, I haven't had to swap them out yet. But I can see what you're talking about and I agree, it's not an ideal design, it's way too fiddly and annoying with very little room in that little gap. I'm going to stop using batteries in this thing now. Thanks for the heads-up.
@adeptgopnik
@adeptgopnik 10 месяцев назад
you are lucky if you havent encountered it yet. there are two screws that will essentially just slide off even when tightened all the way since the metal has a slot for them to come out. My best solution has been putting a nut in there and never opening again@@NewFalconerRecords

Be careful if you put a battery in it. The wires on the battery connector are really thin, and mine just broke right off. I didn’t care that much since I have a power supply, but I figured I should pass the word on to anyone who might hear it.

Great heads up. I actually use batteries when I play live, 'cos this thing doesn't fit on my pedalboard and it's just as easy to put it on the floor and blast off. I'll keep what you said in mind though. Thanks for the tip! Cheers mate.

It's a really cool pedal that sounds awesome. They should have made the JHS mode a second switch though for a solo boost. Too bad this pedal has a loud hiss.
@NewFalconerRecords
@NewFalconerRecords Месяц назад
To be fair, it only has a loud hiss when the attack is on full. As soon as you roll the attack back, the hiss disappears (and the sound of the pedal improves as well). I've been using this pedal live and in recordings since making this video and have had zero noise issues. It's a killer pedal. Thanks for watching though. Cheers!

It would be interesting to see a video comparing this pedal with the Behringer SF300. They kinda sound the same, isn't it?
@NewFalconerRecords
@NewFalconerRecords 5 месяцев назад
The Behringer is an octave fuzz, so it's much gnarlier.

I'm sorry if I didn't catch it during the video but does it clean up with the volume knob?
@NewFalconerRecords
@NewFalconerRecords Год назад
No you didn't miss anything, I didn't demonstrate that feature here, but yes, it cleans up an absolute treat. The Tone Bender circuit is similar to a Fuzz Face, so it behaves in the same sort of way. Great question!
@jasonwright7513
@jasonwright7513 Год назад
@@NewFalconerRecords Thanks I'm currently using an Analog Man Astro Tone fuzz that cleans up very well, but has limited gain. Not many fuzz/distortion pedals clean up, especially not big muffs.

Split Coil on a Humb is not a real Single. It is useless. I think.

I think Zep went out during a transition. Who knows where they were headed next. I think Cream went out just in time for everyone in the band to do cool stuff. I really like the Jack Bruce and Robin Trower years. Clapton was allowed to mellow like a wine.

“Think About It” is the only decent track on The Yardbirds final LP “Little Games”…well, apart from “White Summer”! Mickie Most (Muckie Least!) should never have been allowed anywhere near The Yardbirds. However came up with that idea should’ve been fired on the spot!
@NewFalconerRecords
@NewFalconerRecords 7 месяцев назад
I weirdly don't mind most of the 'Little Games' album. I love 'Glimpses - a classic Yardbirds drone. the title track is fun, Page gets out the violin bow in the middle section, 'Puzzles' has some nice moments in it. But yes, Mickie Most/Least was completely the wrong producer for that band at the time. For some unknown reason someone thought the Yardbirds needed to become a "singles" band and got a (albeit very successful) singles producer in, who was completely inappropriate. But the rest of the band were completely burnt out by that stage anyway, yet Jimmy Page was fresh and ready to take on the world. And he did.

@@NewFalconerRecords Yeah, I think I was a bit rough on it, but I always compare it to “Roger The Engineer”, and in that respect “Little Games” is a big step down. But it does have “Think About It” on there, and I’ve bought loads of records just for one tune….they’re all acid House 12”s but you get my point! In hindsight, it was probably the best thing all round, as it led to Led!

@NewFalconerRecords
@NewFalconerRecords 6 месяцев назад
@@12Jakeyboy Yes, another good one. One main thing wrong with 'Little Games' is the cover art. I mean, it's not a classic album by any means, it's pretty good really, but that crappy cover doesn't help matters.
