Must've been an exciting yet exhilarating experience, Juan..I always wanted to be a great jockey when I was younger..but the cards didn't call it for me...I'm 56 years old now and 210 lbs..maybe not in my destiny...but a boy can still dream...did you ever meet Cordero or other great jocks?

@juancaraballo3811 3 года назад
@@septemberquest6393 yes i did met Cordero, George Velasquez,Eddie Belmonte And many other jockeys you get to talk to them in the mornings when they come to work horses but Cordero was the best he was an attraction ,he was something else I’ve been to his house .I was not a friend him but jockey Harry Vega was my friend and he lived in Coderos house ,i was 19 years old.

My grandfather had a box at Saratoga. My mother, his daughter in-law, my mother, won trifecta and superfecta on Travers day and Jim Dandy. Stakes . Do you think Secretariat needed a jockey? No offense, but I've seen footage where Shams jockey was trying his bear to keep up and Secretariat was like "see ya" .

I believe jockeys are some of toughest athletes in the world...They get up early...They ride these powerful half ton horses with great risk each time they roll on the track...I admire their loyalty and dedication to the sport...When I was a kid my father would drive out to the track Every weekend... Aqueduct or Belmont....The first Time I saw a horserace,I was exhilarated,amazed,just in awe of the whole spectrum...It is my favorite sport...Most people don't understand this sport... These jockeys are brave..Tough.... Underestimated to say the least..But they will always be my heroes... Inspiration...And always have my respect... Wonderful video..Thanks for posting.🏇🏇🏇

Jiffy Jim, thank you for the comment. I'm a son of a retired jockey; he did it for 23 years. Everything you wrote in spot-on. It takes a special type of tough guy to be a jockey, more so if you're among the top riders. My dad rode in Saratoga, Aquaduct, Belmont, Churchill Downs, Oaklawn, Gulfstream, Calder . . . he was right there with the top ones. Me? I'm not brave enough to want to become a jockey. Hats off to Papi!

Never saw this Great, Duc before. I'm surprised my father never mentioned it? Or if he did I didn't pay attention, at the the time. Wow what a great piece. Tim Conway the narrator, how exceptional, was that man? Great actor, comedian, spokesman, all round super human being. A Cup Of Courage , the title just doesn't seem to say enough, but what more can be said? Each time those Jockeys mount up. Whether it's a race, or training ride, slash workout. They are at risk. That takes alot of Guts - Courage . Thank you very much.🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🏇🏇🏇🏇

"The jockeys are the best athletes in the world. Look for the tests which they must pass: some of them barely eat what is necessary to mitigate excessive hunger, having to vomit immediately to avoid digestion. The possibility of accidents is not the only risk The greatest risk lies in the loss of health due to the constant and excessive weight reduction. At present day, methods to lose weight have been perfected, it was previously difficult and risky. Today it still is, but on a smaller scale.There are scientific methods and the ultramodern control carried out by experts in the field is used " Johnny Bejshak (1909-1969) Canadian Jockey "To be a jockey is to be an athlete" Virgil Decan "Aly Khan" (1931 -) Venezuelan former horse racing caller. 32:00 Lucas could care less if someone got hurt. Like any of them. They will replace you and not offer any help. Fomf.. Wayne called me the bullrider.. Had no idea who I am.. And I told him I was not that simple minded.. And you just remember to vacuum up those horses and do things unnecessary and owe everyone in California and the country.. He's the shitstain of horse racing. In those years.. Common for trainers to be a cheat anyway possible.
