I see both points of view. Joe already has millions & wants to keep ownership of his creation. The rest aren't millionaires & would probably rather they get the millions than keep ownership of the pod. Long-term, they could get the millions, but for now they're not gonna generate that from patreon. But then on the other hand, this was Joe's creation, and Mal/Rory wouldn't have a dime if Joe didn't come up with this idea & bring them on board.
