This video tells the story of Joe Carrigan who grew up at Moonee. He walked 3 miles to school when he was 6 years old and could drive the bullock team when he was 10 years old. The family bought the land on Bailey Avenue which was later to be developed. They lived there for many years and Joe is still living in Marcia Street. Joe lived through depression in the 1930s. He talks about that and tells how Coffs Harbour developed over the last 90 years.
Joe drove a bullock team for 60 years all his working life and still has a team. He sold his bullocks in the 50's and intended to buy a truck, he explains why he changed his mind in the video. Joe will be 90 years old in 2013 and still works regularly in his gardens.
