This song's origins come from the Irish potato famine of the mid-1800's, when droves of desperate people fled their homes and took the dangerous trans-Atlantic journey to America.
We first got our start singing shanties, so it seemed appropriate for our 25th anniversary that we would record a disc of nothing but shanties to help celebrate.
This album was included as a bonus disc in the physical release of that anniversary album, XXV. However, when released virtually we kept just the first disc as XXV and made the second disc it's own standalone album, called Shantytime.
