This is a scene from The Jolson Story (1946) It is
March 20, 1911, and opening night at N.Y.C.'S Winter Garden Theater. Al Jolson (played by Larry Parks) is scheduled to make his Broadway debut. No one has heard of him on Broadway yet. But the show is running late and they want to cut his act. But Jolson has other ideas. After this performance, Jolson's career skyrocketed. Although Larry Parks is playing Jolson, it is Jolson who is really doing the singing.
