To his credit, he gamed the system better than anybody in history. He got his ring, he got his $120m, he never has to work a day again in his life. He can just goof off on and off the court and be rewarded for it. If that was his real goal, then you gotta hand it to him that he hit it out of the ballpark.
@@T1Oracle There are reports that Poole expended 500,000$ on his first date with a rapper. Also half of that bag will end up on the IRS each year so... Edit: date part is fake. My bad.
He basically have gone through phases: 1. Rookie; had to prove something 2. Got better, a continuation of proving something 3. Became a champ early on his career 4. Got payed like crazy 5. Since he got paid and won a championship, his own expectation was that the torch will be passed on to him; effectively killing whatever motivation he had when he was just starting. He expected that GSW's offense would involve him even more, which is far from reality. Obviously, the young gun who got paid and performed really well in the finals, will never let himself be stagnant on that 3rd option position. Sometimes, early success really do indeed gets into your head. He's young, he definitely could still find his form again, but he needs to learn to put his feet back on the ground.
While playing with Steph has done so much for his game it also boosted his confidence to a unrealistic level, he is definitely a good player but trying to match your game to Steph Curry is never going to turn out well
The difference with curry and other great tough shot makers is they don’t just do highlight plays, that’s just what we remember. Most of these guys still get a lot of shots giving themselves good looks and keeping it simple. Poole tries to go for some crazy highlight play far too often imo.
Nobody could be Steph but playing for the wizards will give him the experience he should’ve gotten earlier in his career. How not to make dumb decisions and play smart team ball as a starter.
Playing in the field of gravity of Steph and, yes...Klay also (last year he shot 41% from 3) Poole had way more space to operate and make things happen, without as much pressure on him Now with the Wizards, we can see how much his game is able to translate to other basketball situations. Small sample size, but it's not looking good so far.
That 120M can finish as quickly as it came with hiw dumb he is on court, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up broke after this contract is over and he's overseas or getting minimums coz of the attitude he showed in DC@@jessewright8930
@@jessewright8930the money part is fine but it’s concerning to hear from a player to say he’s chill for a career after winning 1 ring as the help. If he wants to coast then that’s good for him but don’t expect a big contract after the current one expires.
The poole story is nuts man, he was definitely integral to their playoff run, i watched every game that season, then last season it was like he was a completely incompetent player. Also, i bet lots of us with a hundred million dollars overnight would start slacking at our job. The no look three is just embarrassing though. Yikes.
nba players dont get the contract money overnight , infact the contract can be null and void if he doesnt keep working hard ,being on time , going to practice, contributing to the game , and still he will be paid in multiple smaller payments ,if he pullet a mikal bridges or ja morant he could go broke by next summer , another way to look at it is ,he got the contract now he has to be just good enough and basically just show up until he is paid
most of our jobs aren't remotely comparable to being an NBA player. the entire country isn't viewing every moment of me doing my job. my entire legacy and reputation isn't defined by my job performance. slacking at my job doesn't make it harder for my co-workers to achieve their goals. a generation of kids aren't looking at me as a role model. i get what you're saying and it's true for a lot of us, but most of us are in employment situations that aren't even in the same universe of comparability. a tighter comparison would be to look at other NBA players who get a huge pay day...does their performance tend to fall off a cliff after getting a bag?
Poole probably worked harder than he ever has to get that contract. That level of intensity was unsustainable for him. Some players just cant endure that long. thats why guys like steph or kobe are different. They outwork everyone and never get mentally tired.
Even when they do get mentally tired or hit a road block, they try to look past the horizon and try to raise their level even more. Most people would just be like screw it and stay where they are and live comfortably.
That’s just another way of saying he’s soft. Would rather say his “legacy” was secured with the 1 ring as the help and call it a career. He’s certainly playing like it.
I look at it differently. For those guys you mentioned, the grinding practice it not work. They love it so much they have to force themselves to NOT do it.
They were going to trade him. That's a fact. What they got in return, though? There was probably a better trade package out there, but it is what it is 🤷♂️
@@subie0455because at the time he was worth it. Little did we know that a punch would turn him into a bitch and responds by chucking shots with no regard and playing minimum defense. By Andre’s own words, he tries not to try playing defense.
nope. jordan poole is most definitely not afraid to take the shot. from anywhere. in any condition. no matter how well defended. he is truly in a league of his own. they just dont go in.
hes not a franchise player , thats why i think this criticism is invalid , he's an average player doing average numbers which is great as long as no one puts too much expectation on him
Dude - that’s why I subscribe to you. You break it down and show all the flaws that this clown has. Other channels just gloss over it but you put the work in. Keep going brother!
His play is honestly very cool looking when he's doing it right, if he just made some better decision making I really think he could be a great player, maybe not all NBA or something crazy, but a net positive.
Y’all don’t get it…he’s never had the mindset and never will. I get where you are coming from but I just think you’re a little to in love with the Poole you saw in GSW when he had everyone to take away from the dumb stuff he did do. For every good play he makes he can instantly make a bad one without even realizing because he doesn’t care like other nba players do.
I saw 10 of the 12 games of the Wizards and he can't be good NBA player when he doesn't care about defense. In the last three games I have not saw him once boxing out of a three. In the last game even Kuzma (who is not exactly good defender) got mad at him because he just don't care to win. If I were the Wizards I woulde realese him, who want player that doesnt want to win?
To be trusted with so much talent requires great responsibility. It is a rollercoaster ride experience that only a few can stick with! Poole has been preparing for this assignment since he was 6 years old. Poole is also the light of the world exposing wickedness and those stuck in the old way and worn out style of playing basketball. Poole is ushering in high tech savvy entertaining basketball for the fans! He is not trying to please social media podcasters, or sports analysts. He has a higher purpose of not just winning games and championships but to entertain fans for their enjoyment and to uplift their spirits with encouragement, love, faith and wisdom by being a good example to spur young people to be a true champion wherever they are !
you know i hadn't really had enough appreciation for JP lately. Thanks for reminding me just how special he was in the 2022 season. We wouldn't have gotten 4 without him. TY JP. Best of luck champ.
@@janicelgo4522 yea he didnt take over every game, but there were KEY games that he just rose to the occasion. really important stretches of basketball that were a determining factor in winning that ring. not the only factor, but a big one.
Wizards should consider having him as 6th man. Jones and Coulibaly should start. They're maybe less shinny on the offensive aspect but at least Jones is gonna keep a good pace and Coulibaly can defend the best shooting guard on the other hand.
@@sammydray5919but he wasn’t lying, draymond is washed and when he doesn’t have it his way he always fouls the opposite team and tries to play dirty only making it worse for the warriors ☠️
There is a reason why the warrior org chooses to side with draymond, they saw what really happened during that punch they also know what is happening behind cameras. I dont think the front office is dumb to trade away a good player (for them).
The best players focus on playing their role and utilizing their strengths while using teamwork to cover weaknesses. You can’t actually carry a team while trying to carry a team
The last clip is the only thing I’ll ever need to see again. Reminds me exactly of Julius Randle. These types of players just have the my way high way loser mentality.
I remember that I saw the comments after the moment with deni avdija went viral and I was laughing, everyone called deni a bad teammate and said jorden is gonna be an allstar, while deni is the most unselfish player in the league and is being one of the most efficient players offensively, while being a top level, defender as well, while poole is.. well, poole.
