Yes people, that IS Choppers voice, it wouldn't be fair to the VA to keep him out, STORY TIME. I'd like to think it was Choppers spirit, guiding his former comrades, former wingmen, former friends.....Chopper was always there, this is no exception.
I've been in the US Air Force now for 10 years, switching to the Oregon Air National Guard as a F-22 Crew chief. Fighter squadron. I played this game as a child. I dreamt of being a pilot. Although I don't fly... I'm part of it. To some level. And that means so much to me. This song brings goosebumps and memories. I've been an Ace Combat fan since Shattered Skies. My Mom finally let me buy the game.
Praying for you. Be careful, and I hope the world can heal from recent events. You guys shouldn't have to answer for some of the government's bad choices. Knowing there are people in the Military that know this song makes me feel a little better too 😄🍺 cheers
Guardian 3468 Since AC8 will likely be Post 2020 in timeline, I want to fly over November City again and see a statue put in in honor of Chopper. That would have people flat out BAWLING

Allied Osean Squadron 1: Let us sing that song, too. We're going with you. Allied Osean Squadron 2: So are we. (allied Osean helicopters arrive) Allied Osean helicopter fleet: This is the Osean First Fighter Wing. I just knocked out the Brigade Commander. We'd also like to help. This is AWACS Oka Nieba. That would mean "Sky Eye" in your language. We got a message from your boss. I'll patch it in. Pops: The SOLG just docked with the last cargo shipment from the mass driver. It may be fully operational soon. The Andromeda has tracked down its transmission link. It's still coming from Schenze. I'll be briefing you, so pay attention.

Avril cursed at the radio as she tunes it. For some reason, there is a slight whistle. It's mucking the signal as she tries to get a stable one. As she messes with the radio to clear it, there's a brief moment of static before suddenly, over the now clear radio, a melody of single person lonely whistling. The tune is slightly off, but as the signal grows stronger, the tune becomes increasingly clear. Soon, the others around her turn to the radio in her hands. The dogs happily bark at the radio, showing they know the person. But aside from those present, they shouldn't be so happy to hear someone else, unless there is a person out there that they would be happy to meet again. "Trigger?" Tabloid blinks. "The dogs always did like Trigger," one of the guards mutters, then again, they never stopped him from playing with them either. He even stole scraps for them from the mess hall. Twice in Solitary for that didn't deter him. Then, there is Count's voice. "Didn't know you know that song Trigger." The whistling simply continued on. The pitch was less than perfect, the notes not carried as they should have been. Passable nonetheless. And it showed as suddenly someone else joined the whistling. Then another. Followed by another. Then two voices joined with words. Another voice suddenly began singing as well. The lyrics are more or less butchered, but as the group begins singing as one, Trigger and Count clear as well, the hymn sung by pilots going north to meet the enemy, is fills the airwaves. "Are those Oseans?" an Erusean voice asks over the radio. "Reinforcements?" an Osean voice suddenly adds, "Is it them?" "Can't be," another Osean voice responds. "But who's singing?" another Erusean. "Can it be Three Strikes?" someone breaths out. "Don't care," an Osean states, "I haven't heard that song in years. I missed it." "It's a good song," an Erusean adds, before suddenly adding, "Why are we still fighting? We don't even know what's going on?" "We are winning the war, crushing Osea and ensuring Erusean victory!" another Erusean snarls and the princess shudders, making a scared sound as the dogs growl angrily and cluster in front of her as though to shield her from the voice she clearly recognized. "Thoughts in endless in flight," an Erusean voice suddenly sings. "Day turns to night," an Osean sings. In moments, a chorus of voices are singing. Osean and Erusean. Singing for peace in a world torn by war that they don't even know if it is still being fought or if it has ended. They don't know what their reason for fighting in a war they can't get a picture of. But now... A song offers them something. Peace. "Those who sing are traitors to Erusea!" that same voice and one of the dogs jumps up on Avril's arm before his handler can pull back on his leash and barks loudly into the active radio making the Radical on the other end give a start. "The Princess' mutt?! I thought you idiots killed her!? We can't have her running around! She is as dangerous as Harling if the plan hadn't succeeded in killing him!" Silence in the group. More were likely also dumbfounded. Some had stopped singing. Count's voice could be heard raising a ruckus. Then Trigger's voice plows through on its own. Rallying the remaining singers. Their voices growing in strength not just from the closing distance or how close they are, but as they make themselves heard, loud and clear, what they think of the war and that they sing for all the fallen, for the peace they shattered, the skies they rent apart, and the lives they have ruined. They sing to bring an end to it all. "Starts from within," a weak voice suddenly joins the chorus, just above a few octaves, but as the song goes on, the voice regains strength. It clears as it sings, letting all know who the Mr. Voice is. "President Harling is ALIVE?!" the Radical now sounds frightened. Because of his words, brought on by the song of a brave group of individuals, a man thought dead, a ghost in the dark of war, now reveals he has merely been sleeping. "Which way do I go?" the Princess suddenly joins in, her beautiful voice adding to the melody of the song, "How fast is too slow? The journey has its time within us." "If a man can fly over an ocean," Tabloid suddenly joins with a genuine smile on his face, "And no mountains can get in his way." A guard joins in as well, "Will he fly on forever Searching for something to believe." And like a snowball down the side of a mountain. The guards and prisoners of the 444th Squadron become one, immediate chorus. Their choir-like addition over the tiny handheld startles many. "Princess?" an Erusean sounds awed. "We have our Princess here?" another of her soldiers responds. "We have to protect her!" an older voice states, "Are we not men in her service? Soldiers of the Kingdom of Erusea! We will not let the Radicals rebuild their failure that was destroyed by ISAF! We will not be beaten again!" "We got President Harling to protect too!" an Osean chips in, "We do that and you do that, then both can meet and maybe we can finally have an idea about what to do with this damn war!" "Agreed!" the Conservative officer declares, "We will fight together and stop the Radicals from forwarding their damn ambitions of endless war!" A new chorus, of voices agreeing, resound over Tyler Island. In that moment, the war's endless future is abruptly ended. As Osean and Erusean join together, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, to step forward into a new era of understanding and reconciliation. For the Radical, he and the rest of the Radicals now have to stand before the light of peace and harmony brought on by this.
“Brownie! Stay in the game! We’ve got ‘em on the ropes!” A rough voice commands, as one f-18 forms back up with another. “But boss, isn’t that Trigger singing?!” A woman asks over the radio. The man pauses for a moment, before laughing out loud. “It is! Trigger! You won’t believe it! Harling and Brownie are alive! I always felt you didn’t kill him!” “Trigger...You tried to help.” The woman says consolingly. That’s when the formation of the planes slows down, as the surviving spare squadron members clamor into their F-18’s, a familiar, snarky laugh echoes from the radio of one of them. “You’re alive Murderer? Guess that makes two of us.” “Full Band?! But- Bandog had me kill you!” “Then you were obviously more focused on your kills then his plane.” A familiar grumpy voice growls over the radio. “McKinsey was a turncoat. I unlocked Full Band’s ejection seats. He gave over everything he had on our Colonel. The asshole got assigned to a penal unit and got himself blasted out of the sky when he tried to escape.” Bandog replied. “Who wants to make a bet that Trigger ends the war single handed?” High roller laughs. “That’s right boys! I’m still at the table!”
Personal advice, blast this while playing mission 19's first phase in AC7 with an F-14D razgriz skin, and I swear that Harling can rest in peace After that
The beginning is beautiful. Ex-enemies singing eventually in unison. Like the real equivalent would be the Christmas Truce during first World War. After doing ACES mission, now I get why this AC5 is so... Unsung. o7
And this mission happens the night of 30 december 2010. So you are truly in Christmas time. And then on New Year's Eve you have The Unsung War. And finally 2011 can begin with peace.
The journey begins Starts from within Things that I need to know The song of the bird Echoed in words Flying for the need to fly Thoughts endless in flight Day turns to night Questions you ask your soul Which way do I go? How fast is too slow? The journey has its time within us If a man can fly over an ocean And no mountains can get in his way Will he fly on forever Searching for something to believe From above I can see from the heavens Down below I see the storm raging on And somewhere in the answer There is a hope to carry on When I finally return Things that I learn Carry me back to home The thoughts that I feed Planting a seed With time will begin to grow The more that I try The more that I fly The answer in itself will be there
Prayers to all those around the world fighting the system that oppresses us against each other ✊ I have met many great people in my travels, and have faith we can band together. God bless, and may we strive to make a better future for our children and generations to come.
Were all in this together, against the puppeteers. Regardless of our nationality, of our religious belief, we all want one thing.. Its peace. I feel that was the major focal point of this mission, and this game.. We love life, we love each other, and nothing can destroy that.
How do I put this, My friend has been an a10 warthog pilot for awhile now, his mental endurance has taken a beating knowing 1 press of the trigger is death for someone on the ground....war is truly hell and why am I saying this? We both grew up with ace combat and we’ve been friends since we were kids. Now he’s constantly on a journey place to place. Thank you ace combat for the unforgettable memories with my friend who now is truly no longer a nugget!
Well I hope your friend always keeps on coming back home time and time again with stories to tell. I also hope that he's doing okay both physically and emotionally.
Matt H luckily he should be returning to the states sometime in the near future, a temporary break for a bit and then he’ll be heading back over. An update on his mental state is that since a K-9 unit was on the field, he’s been able to recover his mental strength, being over there for so long probably makes your head think,”what’s civilization?”, ya know? That’s why we have mans best friend I guess!
You started the paragraph trying to make us feel sympathy for him as someone who has to kill for a living, and then ended it joking about how it's just like the video game. Make up your mind.
this scene make me cry. because it's so beautiful to see osean squadron and yuktobanian squadron fly with the Razgriz and sing this song for the PEACE. the peace a thing that is very very important in the game (and IRL) that the game will learn you to enderstand and love. because there is nothing more beautiful in the world than a world in Peace. the Peace ....... the thing that make me (and all of us) possible to write my words right now. set down on my chair in a warm place and sleep in my bed. instead of dying on the battlefield in the mud and never come back to home to see my countrie and the people that i love ........... :,)
i just understand something right now. we are not randoms people from a random game..... we are a true family united by this master piece that is Ace Combat unsung war or squadron leader.... and so yeah how many games can do this.... few ..... just few.... and so i salute you my brothers and sisters in arms. it is a pleasure to fly with you. and also YOU understand (i hope) by playing this game that THE PEACE is the most important thing we have on this beautiful planet.
This song always got me choked up. Even now. Especially from the second to last mission when you are flying to save the world and are joined by fellow pilots from the two previously warring nations. Fighting each other no longer, but uniting to fight for something bigger, singing a song to show their shared love of flying Thats moment and all these guys singing together told you without having to say it. That you had won, you stopped a unnecessary war that took so much. It was no longer a war between nations you were fighting. You were fighting against hatred and wrath with hope and siblinghood
As much as I praise Ace Combat Zero. This was the game that made me feel like I truly lost a good friend when... for me, this was the point I realized why I keep coming back.
Yuktobanian Su37s: "This is the Yuktobanian 703rd Squadron. We heard the President's speech. We'll fight with you." Osean F-22As: "Let us sing that song, too. We're going with you." Osean F-16Cs: "So are we."
This is why Ace Combat 5 is my all time favorite. Damn near the best game ive ever played. I choke up everytime i hear this. It gives me hope for the dim future ahead.
I wish many of us could put our grievances aside like this. Hold this song deep in your heart, wherever you are. Know that others are manipulated, indoctrinated, and even tortured to believe evil things. "For every hero's name is known, a thousand died as well"...fight for their unsung voices. Be the embodiment...the legacy of what they stood for... not for your country, but for your fellow men and women out there that would do the same for you. God bless you, and make the world a better place. Love from America 🇺🇸
I understand you completely. In my case I used the f14, nagase had the f22 , Grimm had the eurofighter and snow had the su-37 as a tribute to some of the most iconic fighters from the series
@@solidsnake6206 hell no, 7 had no identity to it whatsoever. It wasted time trying to do everything from every Ace Combat instead of being its own thing. I would've liked a lot of fan service, but they didn't give much in that regard. It really should have tried something unique, and stuck with the penal unit thing. But I can't change the past, and I've accepted that 7 is a lost game. It never could've held a tee to these games. And I've moved on to better games.
The Gaming Killer it’s my opinion that it’s your opinion that’s my opinion thats your opinion... what was I saying...? Oh yeah. You do realize that @solid snake’s question wasn’t directed at you right? I mean, you can express your opinion but don’t make it sound like your speaking for @Legna K.
zap. I just want to thank you for all the work you've done to get these extensions out for our enjoyment. this soundtrack is by far the best of any of them. the emotions surging through me are unreal right now
If someday i happen to extend every song possible i'll just focus more on gameplay, but i'll never be done with ace combat, unless if someday they decide to finish the series.
Zaptroxix amen to that man. ace combat is with out a doubt the best . especially for me the unsung war.just flying with 3 wingman and one winglady. the story just had so much depth .... God I'm glad I still have the game
When you and your homies going home from school on a year's last friday to one of the boys' house for a sleepover and ace combat game night, just right when summer holiday starts.
Nah, they won't get it. Keep it in the spirit 👍 the feeling is your song in itself. At least we know we are not alone out there. Talk to a veteran, learn, and share the knowledge ✌️
1:00 in the morning and I decide to listen to this song because I can't sleep. I am crying my eyes out That has never happened to me while listening a song.
Killing in any game and hearing the enemy go on with their lives is horrible. In sniper elite 4 after each level I would lay all the innocent soldiers on the floor neatly, Nazism or not. Is it weird that I treated them with my respect?
@@Un_Altra_Persona some men were just dragged in by the higher ups against their will , no one knows how or why , both sides dont even know , they just wanna live
Damn, they dont make games like they used to..... Seems now they just make a game and people only buy it not caring what the game is about. They just know the producer and think, "Eh must be good it was made by EA or Treyarch etc." Then they add all the in game micro-transactions essentually what keeps these companies going.
just a thing i need to say at 1:34 we cane hear "mon ami" that's french it means "my friend" in English. and i think it means with a very very good reason your enemies can become your friends...... the exemple of the scene between the president Harlhing and the prime minister Nikanor is THE perfect hilustration.
Three things that Japanese had me Bawling to 3. Tiffa getting murked 2. Shooting your own men in MGS V:TPP because of outbreak and number 1 that has me Choking EVERYTIME. This song
I gonna admit, i never played Ace Combat before. But I start listening to this soundtrack thanks to Ace Combat 7's Daredevil that made me know how epic Ace Combat soundtrack is. So I started listening more and more of Ace Combat Ost, and all of them are very great. The favorites would be Ace Combat 6's The Liberation of Gracemeria, Ace Combat Zero's Zero and Ace Combat 5's Unsung War. And I came across to this soundtrack, The Journey Home, at first I thought it would be a musical like The Liberation of Gracemeria or Zero but turns out it's a song. I don't know the context of it (if you know please tell me), but it gave me a feel of an end of a war, as one of the ace starts singing followed by others like they were singing because the war had ended and they were on a journey back home. The other version was great, but I like this one better. Don't know what happened to me, but turns out I became an Ace Combat fan without playing any of their games.
Here's the context you're longing for! The Journey Home is a song of peace that's used several times throughout the game. The plot of AC5 is a little convoluted, but to put it simply a war is orchestrated between two countries, with a third pulling the strings for their own gain. Towards the end of the game, the leaders of both waring factions meet and call for peace and a unified stand against those pulling the strings. This version of the song plays during the intro to the mission Aces. The start of the mission sees your squad of four fighters grow into a small army of planes from both sides of the war, friendly and enemy, united as one with a common goal: peace. With each plane that joins you, another voice joins in the song. Explaining it here doesn't do it justice, if you can, play AC5 (and the other games for that matter), or at the very least look up a video of someone playing through the Aces mission.
@@romankaplan666 Wow, never thought the context would be this impressive, from foes become friends. I wanted play the game but too bad i don't have a console and it doesn't port into PC, the only game that ported into PC is Ace Combat 7 and is very expensive, my computer also can't play it, but i'll be looking forward to watch someone playing those games. I am now very invested into the Ace Combat Lore. Btw, thank you for the information.
@@thanawatsakulkaew1123 do you know bro, every ace combat players and everyone that know the AC 5 Stories, they are going to be sad, and maybe they can cry, because the story is very powerful on finding peace..this song remind about how many their brothers fall when battling at the sky and the ground not to win the war but finding peace... well for me this song is the best.. its very heart touching, we hope that namco produce the next AC but sadly there is no updated news that telling they will produce the next frenchies...
Well that's not entirely true. There's that beautiful story of soldiers in World War 1 who held a ceasefire on Christmas Day to play a game of football against one another, many going against orders in the process
@@romankaplan666 And the next year, orders were given from uncaring superiors to shoot anyone attempting a repeat of that from both sides, whether the person is a friend or a foe.
Stanislav Petrov 1983; Tehran, Iran Football Field september 11th 2001 there's a whole list of people showing compassion or empathy or otherwise trying to avert disaster for an "enemy"
@@devinthierault Yes, but I have a feeling that OP was referring more to the immediate state of war, where two directly opposing armies clashing against each other suddenly drop their weapons and say "f*ck this pointless war, let's go have a beer instead". Imagine what it would have been like during the very recent Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, where so many innocent young soldiers were sent to slaughter for some stupid barren piece of mountains (which was instigated by Turkey btw) the rest of the world had already forgotten about.
