Maybe these passengers compare to the first airplane passengers 100 years ago. Somebody had to pay for those flights so that, eventually, almost anyone could fly.
Tom Hank says BO ask if him wants to pay 17million for a ride. Honestly, who would pay 17M for 5minutes of weightlessness? I suspect that these are not paid customers. BO is just buring money away for some publicity.
I believe the customers own that footage and they decide whether to release it or not. I vaguely remember one of the earlier crews did release the whole cabin footage of their flight.
@@sagesolomon8070 you can't link things in youtube comments but I looked it up and it was NS-19 (Michael Strahan's flight). One of the other crew (Evan Dick) posted the cabin video presumably with everyone else's consent. There is a video titled "Watch Blue Origin's NS-19 Launch and Land from Inside the Capsule!" which has this video if you want to search that.
September 29 of this year with the Escapade spacecraft. All you have to do is read up on things and you'd know this. There have been two pathfinders that have gone to the pad since January of this year for cryogenic tests and mechanical tests of the quick disconnect systems. In a few months, if all goes well, there will be a static test fire. If that goes to plan, then the maiden flight.
@@thomashong2938 That's a rumor with little substantiation. Everyone was claiming it would happen last year. Then early this year. Now, all of the news outlets that claimed that have gone silent. When Blue Origin bought out Honeybee Robotics, they were very open about the acquisition. Buying ULA would be no different.
@@kedrednael It's not being upright that looks odd to me, it's that as they push off the floor they are drawn back to the floor without having to push off of anything in order to change their trajectory, it seems to me that what is causing this is gravity, granted it's not 1G but, it is gravity.
There is speculation out there that Jeff Bezos and Blue Origin is very interested in buying United Launch Alliance, which is up for sale. If that happens, then Bezos becomes Tory Bruno’s boss and Blue Origin takes over responsibility for launching Starliner. With Atlas V, New Glenn and Vulcan Centaur, Blue Origin will be far more than an overpriced theme park ride company. It will become a true competitor with SpaceX.
Somehow, this project is literally a money burner with a dramatic countdown. But at the end who cares?! Instead of this fluff and providing heavy-soul rich people with a feeling of weightlessness, the same money could have been better invested, if not in a good cause, in at least hiring a new leadership to fix Alexa.
From an environmental standpoint, nearly 99% of New Shepard’s dry mass is reused, including the booster, capsule, engine, landing gear, and parachutes. New Shepard’s engine is fueled by highly efficient liquid oxygen and hydrogen. During flight, the only byproduct is water vapor with no carbon emissions.
@@friendsofnasa8055industrial hydrogen production is extremely dirty and polluting though. If they use electrolysis of water instead then that's still a massive amount of energy used. Rockets are inherently dirty

Probably fun but what happened to exploration??? This is no more than an enhanced amusement park attraction!! Human kind should aim at being an interplanetary species if we want to just “survive” and for that SpaceX definitely is more promising.
