What I love about your love for the N64 is that it comes from a genuine place. You're not just aspiring to complete this collection to complete a collection, but it's something you're very passionate about and that you know a lot about. It's hard for me sometimes to watch people go for complete sets just for the prestige of it. No matter what you feelings are about reselling I think doing it this way is noble because you're putting in the effort and the time to purchase the manual without taking away from your family's personal funds. I like it Mort. I'll be watching and cheering you on from the great white frozen north
Looking forward to this series! Be able to fund your own collection from flipping games is a part of game collecting that's getting lost these days to all the resellers who are focused on it purely as a job.
Thanks for taking us along. This is something I am excited to follow. Love watching and trying to learn from your story telling to style for the videos
This has the makings of a great series! As someone who’ll probably never own Sculptur’s cut in any way (l have a regular complete boxed version) l say go for it. We’re with you for the journey 😊
Hey Mort! I'm looking forward to watching this video. I throughly enjoy what you share with us. I also, thanks to you, subscribed to retro rivals channel. Jenn and scott are like you, very real, super nice, fellow nerds and also have replied to my comments. I hope you and your family are doing well. From sunny, chilly and beautiful Vermont to you and the entire squad, have an INCREDIBLE day! 👍🎮🕹🤓
I like the editing style with the frequent cuts back and forth. I didn't think I had a problem with my attention span.. but this is doing it for me for some reason.
Thank you :) It was an intentional storytelling choice to integrate some n64 factoids with a game hunt. The episode after this takes it a step further though.
No joke Mort, you have the most entertaining editing: I have no interest in collecting but your interest is so entertaining. You’re introspection is really great as well God bless man
I am done!!!!! I have watched all the missing video clips of Mort's Garage within 3 days now. Gimme more please!!!! Greetings from Asia. Have a good weekend you all.
Another banger! I am 100% your target audience on this one. I'm currently reselling to fund my collection of games for the greatest system of all time, the N64. Also, love the Alien conversation. Those newer releases don't get the love tbey deserve. I appreciate and fully agree with your opinions on them. Keep it up, Mo Money Mort! I can't wait to follow your new journey 🙌
Super awesome video Mort! I love all the history and information included in this video along with the hunting. Great mix with the editing. I remember being blown away seeing the N64 for the first time when I went to a friend's house and their brother was playing the Super Mario 64 game. I wanted to sit and watch the brother play instead of hanging out with my friend. "I don't collect toys because I'm a grown up." Haha, my favorite quote of the video. Super Cool grabs at the flea market. Those laser discs that you picked up were really nice. Good job with picking up the games at the end by going through the box and picking out what you wanted. Too bad about the box condition on the one. Complete the Hunt! Good luck on adding to the funds for the manual. It will be a fund series to watch. Looking forward to the next videos.
At least Mort is finishing his N64 library, that other guy Phoenix Resale isn't anyway near the completion of his switch collection on the other hand... I am even not sure anymore WHAT he is after nowadays!
This is going to be an incredible journey, and I can only imagine the satisfaction and pride that you'll have when you FINALLY complete Sculptor's Cut, and for that I wish you good luck sir. Loving the information spread throughout the video about the N64. I remember getting the console one year for my birthday, and picking up Crusin' USA so me and my brothers could play it together. Such a great console, so many fond memories. I agree, the Street,/Backbacker/Blitz, Hitz, etc were such fun games, really even if your not a sports game fan I personally feel you can find something in this arcadey versions to love (oh and FaceBreaker was a super fun Boxing one). 100% agree with your statemet about the hunting/collecting. The thrill of hunting at Thrift Stores, Flea Markets, Yard Sales is just such an adrenaline rush, not knowing what you would come across. As much as I love playing games, I think hunting for them (and other things of interest) slightly edge it out. Awesome video as always Mort, and some nice progress towards the goal, even though it is a hefty goal for sure. Thank you for another great bit of content, always so much fun checking it out. Keep up the amazing work and see you for the next one. #Roadto25k
I love seeing how much hunters and resellers are paying vs. what they sell for. I'd love it if we could see the Clay Fighters box on your shelf in the background. That way we can really connect with it on this journey of yours. Really single it out from the rest of the collection.
Talk about a monumental treasure hunt item. Good luck on it. (Typing this long before the video has ended.) Even I've only seen one of this game and the box it came in. (I am 99.9% certain that it never came with the manual.) So, finding a manual to a rental exclusive must be like winning back-to-back lottery wins... of the large prize kind. People that rented games just so rarely cared if the extras were returned to the store... though a few rental store purchases did include the original manuals.
@@MortsGarage lol. Ok, its a prowrestling thing, so if you dont care, thats all you need to know. But if you want context.... so you're doing a the "finish the hunt" tagline. In WWE, there is this whole thing going on over the past 2 years where Cody Rhodes is trying to win the championship and "finish the story" of winning what his father didn't when he was a wrestler. But now there is a seemingly actual event where The Rock just randomy returned and it taking Cody's championship match for no real reason, and it is going over like a lead balloon.
Great video with some great hunting. I know you can do it. Also Fargo is a amazing show. I just finished the last season in December. I hope there are more seasons.
Oh man are we "those guys", I remember telling the Blockbuster employee that Pokemon Stadium had released the day I went in to rent it but wasn't on the shelf yet, so they had to dig it out of the back to rent it to me... I was like 13 or something like that at the time.
Really enjoyed how you had information and commentary sprinkled throughout the game hunting footage. Keeps things fresh y’know? Also Gaiares is a pretty fantastic game if you’re a fan of shmups 👍
Dude, yes!!! The hunt is real, and has begun. Couple of things, firstly your collection is very impressive, to get them all bar one manual. Incredible. Secondly, I said Cydonia the exact same time as you lol. Cracked me up. Anyway, really looking forward to seeing how this series progresses. EPIC!!!! 🤜🤛
I can't believe you got me to watch a video about the N64.... you should feel ashamed. I enjoyed the switching between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. It was intriguing. I was trying to think of how to combine your name with Wes Anderson... all I could come up with was Mess Anderson😂 it's not fitting, but it's funny. I tried doing some color correction on my video today, but everything either looked like your videos, like I was in the Matrix, or I was about to be tortured in a Saw movie... Keep it up, brother!
Hahahaha - love the experimentation though! And yes, a very clear homage to one of my favorite directors with the aspect ratio switches. Trying out ways to help tell 2 simultaneous, but non connected stories. That seems to help. Hoping my ideas for the next vid come together on screen the way they are running in my head.
Getting to check out their box definitely a great idea n you did come away with 2 scores. As well as your friends scored well too. A fun n entertaining video as always Thank you Mort 🤟🏼
exciting to follow this Mort. I hope you will display the manual i the game room when you get it. Its a lot of money to put in a cardboard and never show😅
What’s the story between the pixel game squad and you? I see so many of the same people you guys both interact with, but never between each other? Is there bad blood or a story somewhere? Love both your content btw!
Love those guys! No bad blood at all :) I was a part of their channel for a while but wanted to do my own thing. When we were all together, I pitched Garbage or Gold and some of my skit ideas but it just wasn’t a good fit creatively. I talk with Riff often and have been on their WhatNot streams more than once as well 😊
Great idea! Definitely an expensive item to collect. And I would have to say that condition is everything on sealed games so I’d definitely take that into consideration on price. Another great video!
I am heading to California in May and looking forward to checking out the swap meet! I know you said before that there were "drop times" where the best times for pick ups happened to be. I have never been to this swap meet and am excited to check it out. I normally am at my local Michigan swap meet super early, but it is maybe a third this size. What time is the best to go? Is it worth to get there before the sun comes up? Also, I saw on their website they are open Saturday and Sunday. Are both days just as good? Or is one better than the other? THANK YOU MORT FOR ALL THE AWESOME VIDEOS! I started looking for local swap meets to me because of all your fun videos!
Did Mort pay too much for the 32x game? Will Mort find his manual at the swap meet? Does Chris have the most on point T-shirt game? Tune in next time. Same Mort time, same Mort channel. Some good finds. Sounds like the buddies also did really well. Chris looked like he was salivating to get a look at that box.
Will you be at so cal gaming expo this year also could change the 64 boxes to the blue side so I can see how my wall gonna look haha I’m buying box games
@@MortsGarage the first person shooter where you fight off the turkeys and can have a death match with friends. I might buy a n64 just to purchase that game. I have like 10 consoles and alot of video games my self.
