ryan phillips its not about having stars, its about being from canada or not. Every nba commentator writes off the raptors except charles barkley and perk (first time i heard about it tho). Colin Cowherd picking nuggets over raps is fantasy and pure hating. I'm canadian, full disclosure, but even when we have the best record, we are written off. Now the bucks have the best record, they've never proved anything and the media are riding on them like the second coming of the 90's bulls
it's partly that and partly what i said. they think you have to have 2 legit guys to even have a chance and tbh that's usually how basketball works. it's such a fixed game.
Also have The Round Mound of Rebound Charles Barkley who was the OG Raptor supporter. Usually always picked them to make it out of the east. Even in 2018 he picked them come playoff time despite the fact that was when everyone called them chokers who could never get it done in the playoffs
US Station. Lets not show the ENTIRE Rudy/OG incident where Rudy Grabs and Holds onto OG's Arm to slow him down as OG was leaving him in the dust. Held him for about 15 feet before OG had enough and through him off like the Ragdoll Rudy is. Oh no lets just show the end. Typical
@Mollywhopp Which is shocking seeing how he is a broadcaster sometimes for Celtics games. And Massachusetts sports media members are usually some of the most homer biased ones in the world. I would know seeing how I was born and raised here and have lived here for 26 of 29yrs lived in Florida for 3yrs before moving back. Celtics have Tommy Henson who's one of the most biased announcers you will find in the sport. The Redsox have gotten better as they changed their play by play announcer to someone who does college football and basketball games for ESPN. Bruins announcer are some of the most biased and are so hard to listen to. I would have no problem with any of that but for some odd reason despite living here most of my life I'm not a fan of a single team from this area. My dad was a Dolphins and Yankee fan so I followed him with those two teams. For NBA the first NBA game I sat down and legit watched as a kid was a Raptors game in 2000 where I saw Carter dunk on someone thought it was the coolest thing and also loved the name Raptors. So I decided to be a fan of them. Then Hockey I was a dumb 10yr old and thought Sharks was the coolest name.
It is hilarious to watch American analysts try to cover Canadian teams. Instantly look like idiots in their own fields of "expertise". Never gets old lol. They are constantly surprised by everyday activity in the leagues they supposedly cover. If it wasn't funny it would be tough to watch.
