This was an awesome story. I'm so happy Helena Wayne is getting her own team and story imagine her interact with Damien, Bruce, and flashpoint Thomas Wayne 🔥 and Geoff John's picking up where he left off in the cw stargirl series with this new gen JSA vibe
I think it depends on Warner Brothers' attitude. Perhaps some of Geoff's ideas have influenced some of DCEU's films, but he was only used by Warner to weaken Snyder's influence. Geoff was sandwiched between the two and never gained the power to control DCEU's development.
I'm an ol head Huntress fan I'm talking the original Helena Wayne back to when she shared a comic book with Wonder Woman . It broke my heart that she and Robin died at the end of Crisis of Infinite Earth. I never really with mob boss daughter version. I love seeing a older version of Cat woman even if she dies two issues later. This series almost reminds me of my childhood
@@AlexanderOsias that batman was also a bit of an asshole "best" friend to superman. but I guess everyone was a bit of an asshole back then, but people see them as wholesome characters. its a riot
@@AlexanderOsias I mean ... is it? It's kinda hard to say because they keep referencing main continuity throughout the book. The very first panels, in fact, are showing events in Year One, which is modern Batman's origin, not Earth-2 Batman, and the missing children that are shown in the flashback panels are featured in Stargirl book, which, once again, is set in main continuity. But that raises other issues, like, if this is main continuity, where the hell is the JLA? Why is Helena, for example, part of the JSA instead of the JLA? Where's the rest of the Batfamily, all of whom would be around if this is main continuity and not Earth-2?
@@critical_thinker0668 Good question. I just know that the Earth-2 continuity had Bats marry Catwoman, and there were some tragic ends for both in that timeline, which is why Helena Wayne became the Huntress. She did join the JSA as the next generation with Skyman & Power Girl. That Batman had aged and was more friendly than our current uberparanoid Batman (who is clearly alive -- sometimes -- and part of the JLA). Not sure how they'll resolve that too.
I've always preferred a scenario similar to the New Frontier. The JSA existed in the same universe as the JLA. The JSA would've been the superhero team in WW2 and afterwards while the JLA are the team of present day. I think the JSA would've disbanded due to the rise of McCarthyism forcing them to retire, and the time of Superheroes would return to the modern day.
I like what's going on with the JSA the way he's setting up the story is spot on how it used to be and the fact the Villain for this is a time traveler fits with the JSA's history so well I can't wait for more please please cover this...
What do you think is the best thing about this comic book event and who do you think is the best character? What do you think is going to happen in the next issue after Helena Wayne meets Khalid as Dr Fate, Deadman and Detective Chimp? Also who's the missing Dr Fate mentioned in this issue?
I've been following this as well, but more so and if you guys want the FULL picture I recommend for reading & reviewing where the story truly begins Stargirl; Spring Break Special where she learns of the Lost Children, (sidekicks who have been lost in time like Quiz Kid, Cherry Bomb, Lady Bug, John Henry Jr, and somehow Air Wave II is tied to them) thanks to Clock King who was fighting the SSOV. And this was just the precursor written by Johns. Next was the The New Golden Age one shot giving bits and pieces, like puzzle pieces out of a box about what's coming in the JSA title and the kicker is the WHO'S WHO style pages of these new Golden Age characters; the GA Aquaman, Betsy Ross & Molly Pitcher, Cherry Bomb, The Harliquinn's Son, John Henry Jr, The Boom, Lady Bug, Red Lantern, the GA Mister Miracle, Quiz Kid, Salem the Witch Girl, and the GA Legionnaire. Johns continues with the ongoing limited series Stargirl: The Lost Children where she and Speedy are trying to track down and rescue a generation of sidekicks that have been missing and no one remembers, the new ones mentioned, but also the Newsboy Legion, Wing, Tick-Tock, Robotman's dog. They're at Issue #2 right now and there's some threat that's been taking/holding the sidekicks and somehow someway Dan Dynamite who was a senior and now after hitting this island has been turned back to a teen. Trust me this is all written by Johns and is connected to the JSA title, which is only a small part of the picture.
@@jonathansoko1085 I get that but reading Johns' writing is creating /recreating emotional ties especially when Speedy & SG are talking about their predecessors and how the SSOV were trying to keep them out with what happened to them. I get these are newer characters, but Air Wave II who was the son of AW (who somehow wound up on E-1 from E-2) has that emotional link, but I'm also recalling an issue of DCCP with Whatever Happened to Air Wave?
@@jonathansoko1085 not referring to them, they haven't appeared yet in the mini series, I was talking about how the SSOV were trying to keep Stargirl and Speedy out of the fight w/ Clock King and from investigating the sidekicks, because of the tragedies that happened to Wing, the original SSK, and Speedy. Don't know if read any of these books yet but Johns is bringing his A-Game to the Golden Age. And I love how he retconned the modern GA and Speedy as SSOV members, that were actually time lost and sent back to WW2 and were part of the Soldiers. Better than most of the retcons for the SSOV since the COIE
Interesting, so Flashpoint Beyond is set in a version of Earth 2 with the new Daughter of Red Lantern. My theory is that Huntress is not only jumping in time but also jumping through the Omniverse. Maybe because of the globe and Nabu.
Over all good job, the story seems cool. You might want to consider changing your voice narration when you are reading the comic pages, there was no tonal difference or pacing changes from when you were reading the content or just talking to the audience. The story would be even more impactful if you read it with a few more pauses for inflection and pacing. When the tone and tempo remains the same it’s harder to distinguish the story from your commentary. I know that’s not the current style of RU-vid narration these days but it would make the piece stand out more and be memorable. Just my two cents, feel free to ignore :)
not reeve's and if we do get huntress in the DCU it will be Bertinelli but if we end up getting Helena Wayne it won't be till the end of the ten year plan.
I’m a bit of a sucker when it comes to goggles (in costume design, I don’t have some random affinity with goggles in general) and I also love jay garrick so I am just obsessing rn over what that flash costume looks like on the cover bc u can only barely see it
Its cool D.C. is making stories involving Golden Age heroes and so they are Golden Age stories though they often have modern characters, but it would be cool if they made more Golden Age stories with all Golden Age characters only, and not just as a fad. But continually having a good few truly Golden Age stories every year from here on out would be cool.
Yeah, this seems pretty good. I'm [pretty much] a Marvel guy since I was 16 [1989]. But there are a few characters/teams I've been following them for years [Batman, Superman, Justice League]. Some of My favorite storyline from DC: Kingdom Come [great story, great art], Batman: Hush [drawn by my All-time favorite artist Jim Lee], but the best 2 recent story arcs have gotta be DCeased & Dark Crisis
Can you do history of Cyclone, Rhino, Sandman, Kraven the Hunter, Chameleon, Scorpion and the Human Fly along with Kurt Connors the Lizard. Also can you do the history of the Flash Villains like Turtle, Magenta, Cobalt Blue, Mirror Master and Top?
She was the original huntress from earth 2 the current one was a copy of her in modern age she was wiped out in the crisis when earth 2 ceased to exist in 1986 this current storyline will tie in with flashpoint. Geoff johns who is writing this current series is a massive fan of original justice society
Since you did history of Marvel's Black Knight, Can you do history of Marvel's Dreadknight? If you seen the recent episodes of season 7 of the Flash, can you do history of Impulse, XS, Psych, Fuerza, Steadfast, Chillblaine, Abracadabra, Rainbow Raider, Mirror Master and Top in your next video?
So how long till you do history of Arno_Stark Iron Man, Ezekiel Stane, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, War Machine and Pepper Potts AKA Rescue?
That storyline for Huntress goes way, way back. Yet it has been, idk 30 years that Helena Bertenelli was the only active Huntress character. So Bertenelli is not Bruce and Selena’s daughter. But the 1st ever Huntress is the daughter.
@Timepilot94 I'd say, though, now that we've seen (Helena Wayne) Huntress on Crisis of Infinite Earths, the fans will want to see that one more than the original, and then she'll overshadow her the fans will forget that the original Huntress is not Batman's daughter. Is Helena an Anti-Hero?
Did John's say that the snow globe was the flashpoint timeline snow globe is John's going to put flashpoint Thomas Wayne and flashpoint jor el on the justice society? Like power girl is a remnant from a destroyed earth/timeline?
Really disappointed that this is just a miniseries. Also, that character on the future JSA was the son of the Harlequin, the Golden Age Green Lantern villain, not Harley Quinn.
I don't know why Golden Age Superman didn't have kids, he is the most human "alien" of all and i think Kryptonians are the real Atlantians who left Earth to live on Krypton.
I haven't always been a fan of the JSA mostly because of a bad foundation as to the founders. However thanks to The Brave and the Bold and movies it's become simpler to understand. Just not at Jeff John's level yet.😅
What do you think the Justice Society of America is going to be like in the DCEU or DCU after they made their debut in the Black Adam movie compared to the Justice Society of America from the Stargirl TV Show?
Can you do the history of zorro judge dredd Cassie hack qwenpool hit monkey, vamperrella moon girl & devil dinosaur and league of extraordinary gentlemen
@mechmaster3157 if that was the case then Top Gun- Maverick, Avatar 2, No Way Home, No Time to Die, Dr Strange 2, The Batman, Thor 4 and Fast 9 wouldn't have made money. Covid is not stopping people from watching movies in theaters, it's more about which movies are worth watching in theaters.
