You hit the nail on the head brotha! The board is fun, playful, and an all around “all mountain” board. I got the chance to demo the board in mammoth this last weekend and was carving down the top of the mountain, ripping through the park, and hitting jump lines with ease. Despite the directional shape of the board, switch riding was no issue. The flex is perfect too. I was able to get some presses down on rails but still had a lot of pop when it came to ollies (flat, onto rails, off jumps, etc). I loved the board so much I ended up getting one for myself! Great review
6’-1” 240#, 46, size 12, union strata L, 27-33/season. Bought the 152 19/20 version @ my local off this review. I like it in trees, slush, & fresh snow. Not my favorite on icy groomers (big CO or sm WI hills) & probably need to ride more. Other bd is a 162W GNU Antigravity with BxM Transfers (👍 Angry review). Works for me stoking & keeping up with a 9 yr. Cheers.
Hello Angry, thanks for the review. I believe you tested this board at a 147 size. Hypothetically speaking… if you would’ve tested this board at 152 or even a 157 size, do you think it would’ve been more stable between the feet and less chattery at the tip and tail? Your height and weight is similar to mine. Just wondering about this. Thanks!
Thanks for the review! I found one of these boards, 147, on Craigslist, brand new for a pretty good price. I'm 5'5 125 lbs... wanted to know if this board would be alright for a beginner😅
Love Your reviews man! I'm 6'2" and ~185lbs, boot size 12 and I am torn between 152 cm PP 2020 and 154 Twinpig. I like to hit some side jumps, having some fun on a run (180/360/grabs), some small to medium jumps, carve a little bit on some groomed snow, switch riding. PP sounds great, but I'am a little bit sceptical about the directional shape of it. Any suggestions? Different board or different sizing?
@@AngrySnowboarder I know this is a few years old, so I'm not sure how/if this model has changed since. I'm 6'3", 205lbs with a size 14 boot. This board crossed my path while searching for twin camber boards with some decent width for carving, and moderate freestyle and freeriding. Currently, solely rocking a Sushi 145W, since my old Custom Flying V Wide was too narrow for my desired riding. Intermediate to advanced; been riding since ~1997. Am I thinking straight, considering this versus a Gnu Riders Choice C3 Wide, Warpig, Stump Ape, or Never Summer DF-width board?
@@AdamWolphe Model hasn't changed. I'm 6'3. 205 size 13. This is the "best and most fun" board I have ever ridden. I fell in lust with the Quiver Killer but ultimatly come back to the PP for my daily driver and deep snow board. I highly recommend it for you in the 157. Been riding since '94. My other boards include Lib Quiver Killer 159, Ride Algorithm 164 W. The PP also is awesome in Deep Snow. Home Mountain Palisades Tahoe. The PP also excels in the carving department, ie laying trenches. Should work with any modern size 14 boot no problem. Haven''t ridden any of those other boards you mentioned. If you're really worried about waist width might go for the Stump. If you're super aggressive and like to ride super fast, may I suggest the Ride Superpig. Anyway I can guarantee you'll have a blast on the K2 PP 157!
Great review! I’m looking at getting the latest version of this board, I’m 5ft 10, 175lbs size 10 uk boots. I was thinking 152, does that sound about right to you?
Hey, thanks for the review. Was wondering what you'd recommend for an intermediate rider who wants to start learning park, would you recommend the warpig, party platter or party wave? I'm 150lb, 5'11", and ride and 11.5 boot. I want a surfy and fun feeling ride. I also want a board that will still be fun at slower speeds when with beginner friends to do butters etc, and can still charge a bit if I wanted to do a some bombing. I'll be riding west coast, mostly big bear and occasionally mammoth. Thanks, and appreciate all the content you put out!
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks! also wondering which you would consider softer or more playful between the warpig and party platter, or is it mostly the difference in camber profile?
Hi Angry. Just got the 2024 version in 152 cm (185-190lbs, 10US boots, 5’10”) assuming much hasn’t changed since you made this vid? I have a pair of Strata Medium on my Ride Shadowban 157. Should I take those for PP or leave it on SB? If so what union bindings would you suggest? Would new 2024 Forces go well? Or Ultras? (Prefer to stay with Union as I get discount with them). Or is there a lot of overlap with the SB and not worth keeping the PP?Thanks in advance man. Cheers.
Great review. Was wondering for size. I'm 5'8 145 but have small feet 7.5 boot. Is that going to be an issue? Ride a lot of groomers. Would a 147 work? thanks!
@angry snowboarder, this board looks like awesome! I am 5'9 165 pounds. Have been looking for an all-mountain +/- freeride board. 157 seems like a good bet, but I am seeing here that this might be way too big for me. Is that because this is more of a powder board? Should I look smaller? Thanks!
Hi Angry! Im 190lbs, 6'2, 13us boots. I bought a 152 PP and I'm looking at bindings on sale right now (I also have a pair of K2 Indy I could use). I'm looking at the Ride C4 on sale at 140$CAD. What do you think would be better?
Hola Angry!! Awesome review. Soooooo, here I am trying to decide between platter 42 or 47. I'm 123 lbs and I've tested the 47 and it was amazing but, based on the reviews, now I really doubt if I should go 42. I'm rarely in the park but love to carve, freeride when possible and play in the slops, mostly small 180s,360s jumps, ollies, buttering, etc. Your advice on that? Thanks a lot for your help.
Hi Avran, thanks for all the live-streams and reviews. Watch it each day in the morning (Europe so not live) My question: got a Capita Kazu 160 and a cool bean paired with a union atlas and a Huck knife 158wide with a Rome 390boss. Im 6“ tall with 215lbs and sized 10.5-11 boots. Would you recommend it as a good fun board in the line up? Maybe a 152? Thanks for your help
I want so many boards, its hard to pick just one. I have an Evil Twin as my park deck. Now I want an all mtn freestyle (deep pow friendly deck). Its party platter, lumber jack, vs magic carpet. All seem like good picks for what I want to do, which is a board to bonk around on in any condition.
Thanks for the review! This or the war pig? never had a camber board, been riding a rocker, flat, rocker rome board the last 2 seasons; dont hate it but not in love. Only ride east coast so many people have said to do camber for all the hard pack days we get. I typically ride 50% groomers/ steeps/ trees and 50% park. I do feel a bit unstable at speed on my flat camber board now, so the camber profile of this definitely interests me, but im concerned about not being nimble enough in tight trees which is why im going back and forth between this and the warpig. Plus brandon davis rips the war pig. Any advice?
Size question. I currently ride a K2 Passport 162, kinda destroyed the base a bit, want something shorter party board type, and considering the K2 party platter. It’s super wide, I’m 6’1” 210-215 lbs, would you go with the 157? You think 152 for me is jumping too far to downsize? I once had a soloman dancehaul 157, loved it but destroyed the base at A Basin outer parts of Montezuma bowl on rocks.
Hey Angry, thanks for the sweet review. I’m 6’5” 205 lbs, size 11.5 boot. Is the 157 too small for me? I’d be riding pow, ripping groomers, popping off of every side hit on the way down and occasionally taking a few park runs?
Angry Snowboarder damn, I’m used to larger boards ha. My board now is a 2011 turbo dream wide 160 and I thought that was on the smaller side. Ha Thanks for the reply.
Hey Angry! Party Platter vs Superpig? I’m old and have been riding since the 80’s. 6’1 200# size 13 boot. Surfy style, love to slash the pow and rip the groomers. Fast and aggressive but no park, almost never switch. What’s your pick, or would you recommend something else? For context, I was on a 159w Ejack last season and hated it.
Party Platter is probably too twin for what you want. Superpig is a great option for what you want. I'd also toss out the K2 Special Effects instead over the Party Platter. Maybe even the Bataleon Party Wave as well.
@@AngrySnowboarder. I was checking out the Superpig at the shop today and it looks rad. The 158 is a beast, but I just can’t wrap my head around sizing down to a 154. Also worried about my clown shoes booting out on the 54. Really looking for something 275+ wide. I think that’s why the PP jumped out at me
Want to add either the Party Platter or Simple Pleasures to the quiver. Have a twin and all mountain/freeride board, so this would be my fun/powder deck. The party platter seems more fun and more my style than Simple Pleasures, but does it float enough at 152 to be my main powder board as well? I'm 6' - 200 lbs size 12 so I assume I could go up in length but that may take some playfulness away?
Sick review! I'm 5'4" 135 lbs size 9 boot. What board size would you suggest 138, 142, 144? Would you suggest any board over this for me? I am on the east coast am an intermediate would say I just got to intermediate and I am looking for something to rip surfey carves on groomers and hit powder when ever I can find it. Maybe something I can start messing around with the glades/trees as well.
Hello! I’m 195-200 lbs 5’6 with 8,5 boot size, what size would you recommend? I ride mosty groomers but want a board that that I could take in some pow and trees also.
i"m 5'6 130lbs and im trying to choose between the 142 or 147 party platter. Which size would you suggest? I want that maneuverability without sacrificing too much stability especially on a wide board.
Hi, sorry to add to all the sizing questions, but was just wondering if you could give me your opinion as I'm a bit torn. I'm 5'10 & about 185lbs - don't do boxes or rails but I'll hit small to medium jumps in the park & like popping off the big rollers. Most of my time is spent all over the mountain on side hits, natural drops & love slowing down & buttering around everywhere too, though I also like the odd quick blast & boosting off stuff. I'll hit resort powder if I'm ever lucky enough to get it (only ride 1 - 2 weeks a year unfortunately). I'd normally ride a 55 - 57, so should I go for the 47 or 52 do you reckon? Cheers. Love your reviews by the way!
@@AngrySnowboarder which did you prefer for freestyle, groomers, and side hits on the east coast? I'll be honest I already picked up the party platter haha
Hi Angry! First of all, you and your reviews/channel are awesome congrats! Im an intermediate rider, main board Arbor Relapse 153 (ordered cause one of your reviews), so i love camber boards, agressive style and add some work/weight on my rides. I want the party platter. Im on 165-170 lbs and 5’9” 8 boots. Reading other comments i think you would say to go with the 47, but i need to ask you, would a 52 being to big or could fit my kind of ride? Wanting for all mountain, carving (>50%j side hits (small/medium jumps (30%) and some boxes/rails (10-20%). Hope you can answer, and ty so much!
Were there any changes to the 2021 model? K2's description says it is a 7/10 flex, but you found the 2020 to be more middle of the road. I was hoping for a more playful/butterable party board supplement my 2018 mountain twin. Love your channel, any advice is appreciated.
First off great reviews & content angry Thinking about this board, little bit stuck on sizing though, what are your thoughts size wise for me, 5'11", 175lbs, around 80 kgs with us 12, cheers
Hey angry, I got this board for my brother as his one and only board for the next few years and perhaps I should have watched this video first. My first question is if this board is too big for him, he's 173cm 170lbs and I got his the 152cm. Secondly is if this board is suitable for him as he's an intermediate rider, riding all mountain (mainly grooved runs, some ungrooved runs and little park) Thanks.
Yo - thank you so much for your reviews. I'm about to buy a board that I hope will be my one board for everything, I'm an intermediate and up rider and love riding powder, dropping small cliffs and going fast on groomers and through trees. I also want something I can take into the park and improve jumps and 360's etc. I don't expect it to be perfect everywhere obviously but I'm looking at the 147 2023 Party Platter, with Burton Mission bindings - I'm 5ft6 and 153lbs - does that sound like a good choice? Thank you!
Hello, please help me out a bit. I want to get the K2 party platter but on the size chart, all sizes have the same weight range , I’m 190 lbs size 10,5 boots . I was trying to get the 152 , but is sold out (i’m talking about a cheaper older model) and they have the 142 what do you think, Is just personal preference? I’m afraid that I will suck at landing jumps on the 142. And also maybe a 2020 ride superpig 151 , what would you say, is it more aggressive than the party platter?
Hey I just ordered a 138cm because it was on sale (250$)I asked you about this board on stream and you said I would be better on a 147. Mostly worried about my boots size 13 but going to get smaller boots asap , hope I didn't screw myself. 5'11 150 lbs
I am 5'10 around 130lbs, 10.5 boot size, but I am 13 so it'll probably not be my final specs. What size would you still reccomend for this board. To help you out a bit I dont really care about the float in pow with this board, I have an orca for that 🤣. Thanks Avran
Hi, I am gonna do a winterseason in Laax and need a board. I never snowboarder before, but I skate, surf and have a history of DH skateboarding. A DH skating friend recommended me this board as a perfect fit. I am 6'0 /170lbs, should I go for the 147? Or try something else, like I read in other comments? I am looking for something allmountain, surfy and playful. Thanks!
so if I'm 5'5 180 pounds with a size 8.5 boot... what size board should I be looking at ... always rode a 157... but now starting to second guess if I have been riding the right size board all these years
-I'm going to try this board to see if I want to buy it. The difficult part is my weird sizes: 6 foot 2, 156 lbs and boot size 11. What size should I pick? Booting out is a problem for me in Eurocarves, but on the other hand I am lightweight as well... -For my ridestyle, Ryan Knapton is my inspiration (to whom not though). -Another small one: How's this board riding switch? I ask this because I'm also trying out the Ride twinpig that day. What size would you recommend for that one? Thank you in advance for your advice! I have been watching your videos for a while already and they have really helped me.
Hey Jesper, just curious what size you went with? How did it turn out? (I'm about the same specs as you - 6'1", 160 lbs, size 12 boot - and Knapton is also my inspiration lol.) If I had smaller feet I'd go 152 all the way, but I don't wanna boot out...
@@dannyjoe337 I got the 157, which is one size larger than was recommended by the seller. I tried them both on an indoor ski piste. While carving I noticed the front of the board had a bit too much flex for my taste. The larger size gave me a bit more room to move forward and backwards without losing stability. I have used the board for 2 seasons now and I really like it. It is nice for carving and pow snow. Riding switch is more difficult, but still pretty doable. I never really booted out on the 157. Weight is no issue for me, as I work the board quite hard. If you 'attack' the mountain it is great to improve your style. High speeds are a bit less due to the shorte size, but going 80+ kph never really was fun to me anyway. I want to carve, which it does well. Hope you enjoy it!
@@jesperfrijns843 Thanks for the reply! I am leaning towards the 157 for the added stability and width. I currently ride a 2020 Twinpig (156W), which is around the same size so I'm not really afraid that the 157 PP will be too big or heavy to maneuver, even for a skinny guy like myself lol. Thanks again!
I´m looking for a do it all board, for charging the whole mountain, side hits, pow, carving and buttering groomers, a little park... I´m 6"4 190lbs 12.5 and hesitating between the 2021 Party Platter 157 and the Salomon Assassin 163w, can you help Angry?
great review. After this, i pretty much fell in love with the board. so i was just offered a great deal on the board, but i have no clue what size to get. it will be my first and only board for a while, so i'm looking for something that i can have fun with for years (all mountain, pow, groomers) and progress my riding on. i'm 5'10" around 170 lbs give or take. i'm thinking 147 or 152, what would you recommend? or should i look for other boards?
Yo angry, looking to pick up a 2023 party platter as a fun all mountain board on smaller hills on the east coast. Couple questions for you..do you think this thing will hold its own in icier conditions? And should I go with 147 for length? I'm 5' 10", 165 lb, size 9 boot. Thanks man!
Great review as usual, 4:36 my life! :D But this year making a change, thanks to corona and being technically unemployed , and I'm getting this board with k2 lien binding and ride lasso boots. Will have an update when I face-plant through it. Props from Belgium.
Update, the board is indeed excellent as the review said (no shit). Only been able to do indoor boarding but slush, chunder or groomed it moves with ease over 'em. Park is also so much fun regardless what you do. Excellent board as Angry said, can't wait to rip it up the mountain.
already have a warpig & a super... one of my favorite boards ever was the happy hour (after they added camber) I have 2 from 2015 when the nose/tail were still pointy. i feel the same way about the happy hour that you do about the solomon craft (another board i wanna ride)... between the super pig and the PP, in your opinion which board was more fun overall? i like my super, but i'm not in love with it yet.
@@AngrySnowboarder word. I meant overall which did you enjoy more? i'll probably end up grabbing a party platter later this year... i like that it's not tapered and the ollie bar is tech i'm familiar with, and love.
Angry, I'm 6'0, 190lbs, 11 boots. Used to riding 160 twin as my daily driver, but lost about 30lbs from last season to this one. Now it's feeling way to big. Want to pick up a PP as my new all mountain daily drvier. I want to say the 157 is right, but I'm reading plenty of suggestions for similar sized people that the 152 would be a better fit. Can you elaborate a little more why a 52 vs a 57 would be better?
Hi, so if Warpig sounds right for me, in terms of versatility, but prefer some camber, do you think this may be a good fit? Currently have a LF one, but want more camber, and a more nimble board I can that can go off-piste with.
That does not sound anywhere near what you actually need. You probably need something more like a Telos Backslash, maybe a Rome Service Dog, or even a Ride Super Pig. And that's only if you stick with volume shifted boards.
I have size 11 boots like to carve/ all mountain and only can have 1 board would this be good? Kinda just over all have fun and search for natural features If not what would. U recommend
I torn between this Party platter 152 and a Ride TwinPig 154 . I’m 5’7 and 180-185 lbs. I consider myself an upper level Intermediate rider. About 70% of my riding is on the park hitting medium jumps and jibs. The other 30 is groomers with my family and friends with an occasional pow day (not many). Which would you recommend? Or do you have something else in mind? If it matters I’m riding a rome Reverb Rocker now (don’t hate it, but don’t love it) I came from a 2009 Jibpan which really was my favorite. Thanks for the input.
Neither. If you liked the Jibpan I think you'll like this years Rome Agent actually. Go check that out as it has snap that is reminiscent of the Jibpan but with a better sidecut.
Would you recommend this board for somebody who gets like 14 days a season? I wanna get something that allows me to blast down groomers and hit side hits etc ... I'm currently riding a nitro cinema 2013 and I've been looking to upgrade ... also how is the party platter for riding switch? I really wanna learn how :D
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for the reply :D what feature of the party platter makes it a bad choice for my intended use ... so that I know what to look out for? also excuse my bad english
205lbs, 6ft2, size 13, int-adv rider looking to carve, groomers, side hits and s-m jump. Sounds like this is the board for me right but can it really lay a wide and fast carve? Also 157?
57 would be a bit overkill for your weight, 52 would be better. Yes it can carve, You should look at a Superpig over the Warpig or a Blur or something more directional than the Agent if you're going Rome.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks a lot for getting back to me. I'm drawn to more twinish shapes as I am coming from an arbor blacklist but have to be honest with myself and realise I'm not a park rat but more of an all round rider. I also hate the toe drag I was getting with my big hoofs but almost all wide boards don't actually seem all that wide, hence the warpig/twinpig/pp. Thanks I'll keep your info in mind.
I have the exact same specs as you. Got the 157. Funnest board I’ve been on in all my 14 seasons. Slays park to pow. Lays over euro carve with size 13. So sick.
@@AngrySnowboarder cheers. I should have prefaced that with : I already have a Ride Machete as my daily driver. Was looking at these two as a first quiver board. I think if I had known about the redesign I would ha e gotten this instead of the Machete.
Hi Angry, your reviews are just too good because I’m spending hours watching every fucking video when I already know what type of board i want!! I’m a low level intermediate who gets to snowboard 3 weeks a year cruising on groomers and powder (no park) in some quality snow in the French Alps and Japan. Originally I had my heart set on the Ride Warpig but now I am thinking of changing my mind to the Party Platter. The reason is that I think the Warpig may be too much of a non-forgiving, aggressive riding board for my shit abilities whereas the Party Platter will be an easy more cruisy board. Do you agree with this?
@@AngrySnowboarder Hey man! congrats on your reviews! Just saw a sick deal for the K2 Party Platter 2020 but only on size 142... I am around 138 lbs, 5.4 inches, 9.5 boots and my focus with the platter would be on groomers, carving, a bit of pow, a bit of versatility to sum up. Do you think the 142 is too small or would it be okay but compromising a bit on floatability on powder and the stability on groomers. Cheers man!!!
@@AngrySnowboarder hey Avran, I’m also 5’8” 150lbs but on a size 9,5 boot. I have a Rossi Jibsaw 153 and would like a more powder and charging oriented board to add to my quiver without losing too much playfulness and switch ability. so... 147 or 142?
Hey, I'm loving the cool bean, but like the idea of twin 6'3" about 95Kg - 205-210lbs, Current boards are 166W custom, and the 157 cool bean. Really enjoy the bean. My local has the 152 platter on clearance - you reckon it might be a bit on the smallish size? I like 30% off, but could just wait for 157 to come up next year maybe. We kinda have to grab what we get down here in the South Pacific... and pay $$$
Hey Avran, Salomon Assassin vs. K2 Party Platter? Looking for something fun to take all over the mountain, mainly riding groomers and occasional freeride, want to push my butters/carven/freestyle and switch riding. I‘m an intermediate rider coming from a Nitro Team Gullwing and liked the forgiveness for learning 180s etc but want more Control when sending it down the slopes. I really like the Assassins flat-camrocker profile but am also really attracted to small volumeshifted boards like the K2 PP - which one should I take? I love your reviews , thanks in advance!
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks a lot! much appreciated - its really not easy to find events in Europe to test ride boards, so I'm grateful for first hand advice - I'll have a look at them!
hi, I am 185lbs, 5' 6". I got the 152 as it was on sale. I am planning to use it for a japan trip. I am worried it might be too big for me. Would it be too difficult to butter with a 27cm waist?
Party platter or war pig for all mountain fun and some trees and pow. Definitely would be popping off anything possible and freestyle oriented in my riding. Mainly Just for having fun.
