Can the unit be installed in an enclosed space? I'm thinking this would be great for a heated garage space in an rv in the winter.

What is the battery for? It heats the water? Or is propane the only heat source?

It operates the unit itself, from powering the digital screen, 12 volt water pump, etc. The Propane is the fuel source for heating the water.

What size opening in a jerry can is needed to accommodate the pump?

The buckets certainly pack down, but we had to be a little careful to ensure they don’t tip over. They worked for sure, but would maybe find something with a tad more structure.
