It's actually emotional to see such a raw moment of someone so fragile, like a child, conquering pain... He goes through all stages, sadness, fear, courage and satisfaction so distinctively. Great acting and great script.
Yeah this is honestly very rare a movie showing children actually getting hurt and fighting feels so crazy seeing em get hit so hard thats what made this movie great tho
No one is talking about how Dre was so obsessed with the snake technique, from the moment he saw it to this final scene, that he realized how being still and doing nothing are two different things. He was hung up on that technique and even drew it. Great foreshadowing.
The way Jackie Chan mouths “You won!” to Jaden at 3:29 is so emotional to me. Chan looks so happy and proud of the student he trained. Then Jaden is taking the victory in little by little. Amazing movie!
@@26prospector Yeah, I also like in this movie, how even the teacher was hoping his student may give up due to injury, yet it was Dre himself chose to face the final round, with the tiniest chance of winning.
@@tomarnold7284 Yeah I eventually plan to do a video talking about the differences, pros and cons of each movie, a main topic being how moments like this were executed much better than in the original
No one gives Dre enough credit in this movie, in maybe a month or 2 he was able to catch up to kung fu black belts and win a tournament solo with a bruised leg, that’s insane talent
@@unit0033 bro yes its a movie but Jayden did his own stunts but on the rooftop scene, Jayden or Dre did a split on 2 chairs or some stuff covered in green screen
Well...karate and Kung fu differ by philosophy, instruction, and practice not necessarily by the moves or techniques. They're all related in a roundabout way
Both of them was such a great actor at such young age. They able to deliver the feeling with those facial expression that looks so real. Im not sure about parker, but the boy play the bad guy was first time in acting, but he did such a great job.
His facial feature and expressions was just too fit to be the bad guy(didn't mean to badmouth the kid), they did a great job founding a suitable actor for the role
It was when i was high and i realised that they are just kids fighting for death in an Arena full of adults cheering to them and want to see blood. It was the funniest thing ever
Hellcat why does he raise his eyebrows about the move that he gets set up for I mean I do Jiu jitsu and I never seen that move I just don't understand and I haven't seen the movie yet
because its d scene when drei saw the woman with d snake..he thaught dat d woman is copying d snake.but jackie chan said no..d snake copying d movement of the woman..he got a technique to distrct his opponent.
I like the meaning of this scene. It’s a life lesson if you think about it. The lesson being that if something knocks you down, get back up! I love the scene because it is so inspirational to me
2:47 I love how when Dre tilts his head it makes Chen start to mimick him and get lost in a trance for a second like the snake was to the monk lady earlier
@@The_Crouton It's always nice when the bully gets beaten in a spectacular way at the end of the movie, but I just want to say that the makers of that movie know nothing about martial arts and insult the original karate kid movies.
@@jenell4375 Eh, I like both. They each had their own stories to tell and, in some ways, I think this one did a better job of it. This scene, for instance. While it's fairly unlikely that Dre could've managed a kick like that on one leg in real life, I find his "psych out" of Cheng very believable and intriguing. Daniel was clearly terrified and that move because it was his only option, a last-ditch effort if you will. Dre's, on the other hand, was much more carefully planned. You can see the change in his eyes once he breathes past the pain to that almost eerie calm. No wonder Cheng was confused and attacking wildly.
@@asherikamichaela8425 Sure Daniel's was a last ditch effort, but it was something he had practiced under Miyagi during his training. That was the cherry on top of Daniel's growth and the patience, trust and values he learned. I think the original not only tells a better story but has so much more to it. There is so much packed into it and so much that went into the film, the things your need to pay close attention to in order to notice. Overall, i think the original is far better and tells a much better story and message. it was more than a case of Rocky where he overcame an obstacle, and i think the 2010 failed to meet those standards
The most impressive scene i've ever seen.. Though it's acting, but it carries deep feeling of determination to go on and on however things are.. As long as there's life and we're still breathing, nothing is impossible. We can do it and achieve what we're looking for.
I've watched this movie as a kid with my dad in the cinema during it's release and this movie motivated me so much when I was a kid. 12 years later this movie is still one of the best!
@@thehourman7602 it was better. It was ridiculous but at least Daniel looked liked he actually landed a kick. This looks like his foot is about 3 feet away from that other kid's face.
My cousin and her boyfriend took her siblings and me to the movies to watch The Karate Kid and at this precise scene, I got so pumped that I kicked the chair in front of me. The lady sitting in it turned to see what's happening and saw a bunch of kids jumping up and down (along with many other moviegoers) and 2 mortified teenagers trying to keep them in check. The lady gave my worried cousin a big smile and gave me a karate bow, stupid me got hyped because.... she was Asian!!! 🤣
Small detail: I love how Dre still wasn't sure if he won or not so he looked at his instructor/translator to make sure of what happened. Him saying "you won" before Dre celebrated was honestly a really nice touch.
Sneax Gaming I wanna start off by saying your grammar is horrendous. Side note, its “Mr. Lee” which boggles my brain how you got Li instead of the most common Chinese last name. Now, your comment doesn’t even work with the Pikachu meme as standing up from a severe hit is pretty surprising. When you say “surprised pikachu face,” the event has to be either very preventable or/and expected. Just thought you should know all that.
@@daimsss.f I have to correct you there. In China, it's spelled "Li". Two of my good Chinese friends have the last name of "Li". But I do agree that Sneax's grammar is terrible.
After 10 years I finally understand this scene. The snake stance Dre takes is supposed to signify his immense focus. Despite Cheng’s relentless assaults, Cheng witnesses Dre’s determination and Mr. Han’s love and support for his student. In this moment, Cheng realizes Dre as what he wishes he was. Mr. Han’s explanation for the mimicking is that your mind is still like water, and water reflects, as well as moves to compensate any disturbance. I personally love the way the fit the water theme in the movie because of Bruce Lee.
opponent boy: I was not able to beat him His master: You should've gone for the leg... Thor:You should've gone for the head... DRE: I WENT FOR THE HEAD
2:17 | It’s ironic how Dre became more balanced with only one working leg while Chen became more unbalanced on both of his working ones in response to the cobra technique. The scene represents a shift in power.
He learned a move it takes grown people years to learn. With his leg being broken he had to balance on one, making the snake stance the perfect option. Because it was the finals he only had to focus on a single target. And to gain respect from everyone (including his crushes dad) he had to win or risk losing everything. His stance, mood, and action were all in the form of a snake. Balance, focus, and strike like a snake.
it was fantastic, jaden should have pushed more in training and learning how to act. will pushed him but it was the wrong approach, their movie bombed hard.
The thing that makes this scene so great is everyone was expecting the Daniel larusso crane kick but they got a full on backflip kick and that took the movie to a whole other level
@@nippy1234 Movie was decent, far from good though. Og will always be far superior. When this debuted no one said it was good, so ppl do care of you commented
the one thing i will say somewhat contradictory is the physical. the backflip kick was REALLY phantom, to the point its somewhat distracting to me. emotions and all that were great. but the physical was sorta absent. i suspect that comes from their age too though. in that the ability to throw a punch and hard stop an inch away from the target is something difficult to pick up even over a few years. i didn't think this was a bad movie, though i think this fell into a similar pitfall the avatar last airbender movie did : it gets compared to its source material, and because it doesn't hold up to THAT, it gets generally panned.
@@narufan987 i dont think it was a great movie, but i dont think it was a terrible one either. i would need to rewatch the movie now to see if that statement has aged with any grace, figure i was 12 when it came out
Danny Diaz it was cheesy lol, not badass at all. This movie isn’t even possible, no kid can knock someone out like that 😂 one of the reasons why I hate this movie

This is Instinct. When you've gone through so much already and when you're at your weakest, you have that inside you that forces you to do something that you've never done before. And that's what happened here.
It's not Karate , it's Kung Fu but if you pay attention to the actors , from Chen , Taraji , Jackie Chan and even the evil coach it was exceptional, watching Jaden suffering from pain is like so real , very realistic. Kudos to the Director.
