The Karate Kid FILMING LOCATIONS Then and Now 

The footage in this video is now over a year old, and was not filmed with my 4K camera. I tried to salvage it the best I could to make it a good viewing experience. I plan on doing a complete tour in the future.

That was one of the best KK filming location documentaries I’ve ever seen. The double shot moments were extraordinary and well done.

Brilliant. Growing up in Scotland, California looked like a different planet. Seeing the locations now brings on nostalgia tingles.

I remember watching back in the day "two movies for the price of one" ...The Karate Kid and Back to the Future. U're my hero for tonight bringing back some great 80's memories.

That was perfect. Makes the hair on your back stand. I was in highschool when this was on the big screen. 80's definitely rocked. Awesome job! Funny the word "Awesome" is from.the 80's, still used today...lol

This was terrific. The 5th Cobra Kai is Jimmy, and he does have a line in the film, but it’s said pretty much off camera in the intro scene of them on their bikes just before they ride down to the beach and approach Ali and Daniel. He says - “I thought they broke up.”

Brought back the nostalgia watching this brought tears to my eyes as like you I’m a huge fan of the karate kid thank you for doing this and sharing! Awesome video!! Very well done... I really enjoyed watching. I live in New Jersey, and last summer, I was able find and visit the location of the opening scene , where Daniel and his mom are pulling away in the car from there old home, while the children are chasing them

I DONT BELIEVE IT NICK P...Hi this is Keith again from England UK I have just watched and commented on your Brilliant JAWS coverage....Believe this or not we have done the KARATE KID locations too..if you look to the right of where Daniels Mother parked it is all Built up now along Saticoy street...When we were there we could see the chained fance and the field where Daniel got beat up by the Halloween Skeletons...and the Beach Guard house scene Leo carrillo state beach, we saw the Dojo too along Lankershim Boulevard..And even Terry Silvers weird built house used in Karate Kid 3......This is brilliant once again Nick GREAT JOB.....Wished i had put all my stuff on RU-vid too......

I'm from Florida but I like my best trip is to take the full opening of the karate kid opening trip with Daniel and his mom took from Jersey to the motel out there in California I wanna plan the same route through the desert just like in the opening lol one day .

The opening credits take place in Sedona, AZ

I know this may be too far fetched an idea but can you show the filming locations of Toy Story? Thanks for putting up with my dry humor. I do have a curiosity though of the filming locations of the 1970 film M*A*S*H with Sally Kellerman played Maj. Margaret O’ Houlihan, this may have been entirely a sound stage but it may be worth exploring.

The apartments at "South Seas" are remarkably well preserved, still like the 80's....The beach looked fantastic, that pier: 2 where Johnny and the crew pulled up. 5:38 Its a sham that in "Cobra Kai", they couldn't have used the original/same school location for the series, as its also still the same as back in 84. It looked so derelict, I hope they're not planning on tearing it down. They've already now changed "Kreece's" original dojo, for the now scaled-down "Cobra Kai" version. Someone else did a video where they actually had "Kreese" meet them at the original dojo how it is today..(before the new business alterations) and the original mirrors were still on the wall..(only "Kreeses" office wall was missing). Pity they couldn't have grabbed that location again, and had "Johnny" running it....8:22 Was hoping you'd throw this tune in..(the date night tune). 11:50 Wow..man..someone's back garden right on the spot where Johnny kicked Daniels arse, before Mr. Myagi saved the day/night:)....12:22 I'm sure it became some sort of boutique recently. I'm really surprised to see it looking like it was again. 13:14 That is a great shot, oh man...."Johnny Garrison" who died in September 2019 due to kidney and liver failure, one of his stand-out lines, was near the end of the movie, shouting for Johnny to: ~ "Get him a body bag, yeah!", during the climactic fight....15:29 2 out of the 3 trees still there as well:)..15:50 Looks like the same streetlight outside the house too.

Nobody in this karate kid Movie Knew nothing About karate That's why Jackie Chan made a new version of the Karate kid And that 1 was a lot better

I love The Karate Kid (1984), I love that the movie settings are real, without Green Backgrounds, currently most of the movies are pure lies, the film's settings are fake I like about TKK that the actors did the fighting scenes themselves, also Ralph, William, Rob, Ron, Chad and Tony had to learn karate for two months to able to film the fight scenes, Not like today when the actor of the movie uses stunts or body doubles in all scenes. The Karate Kid (1984-Forever) ❤

the man introducing the fictitious crane kick @ 19:00 was not mr. miyagi. it was his stunt man darryl vidal standing in for him who came up with the idea of the crane kick out of thin air strictly for the movie. he is also the one who fights johnny lawrence in the tournament.

Yes, indeed, its such an awesome film. Whenever I feel isolated, I rewatch this movie and just makes me feel happy at the end. This is a classic movie that everybody should watch. I've seen this movie countless times and just never gets old.

This is great! So much garbage on the internet and then you see something like this from a classic movie!
