Stobe probably is Okran. The skeletons claim Stobe saved humanity. The Okranities claim their god saved humanity. You can find what's left of Stobe in the game holding what looks like some kind of missle that it looks like he died catching. In the lore some of the humans worshiped Stobe but were brutally oppressed and a attempt was made to stamp them out by their skeleton overseers during the second empire. Most likely the name Stobe and the fact that he was a skeleton behemoth (not a god) was forgotten over time and they now hate all skeletons due their treatment during the 2nd empire.
Space debris actually did stop the 2nd empire from advancing off of the planet. The disaster which led to trapping the 1st empire on Kenshi devastated their orbital platforms and ships, causing clouds of micro-debris which would damage or destroy anything trying to leave. If I recall correctly, Stobe isn't the giant skeleton, but rather his friend or enemy (not entirely sure which one) and was laid to rest there by Stobe, who walked into the sea shortly after.
Fun fact. There's enough metal in Earth's atmosphere that if there were a chain reaction of collisions, causing all existing satellites to break down the swarm of tiny metal fragments would be enough to make it impossible to leave Earth's atmosphere. And obviously we'd still be able to see a crystal clear night sky from the ground as the metal fragments would be so small and moving so fast it would be impossible for us to see them with our naked eye. So your justification for why Kenshi's atmosphere isn't full of space junk, making it impossible for ships to pass through, is wrong.
Stobe is Okran though, Stobe was the giant skeleton and it was said that he sacrificed himself to protect humanity and so later on during the era of the second empire a cult was formed called the cult of Stobe. When Cat-Lon started to impose more stricter restriction on humans because not all of them wants to follow the rules he set up, the cult didn't like this and there was a tension between the cult and the 2nd empire until finally there was a war between them and during this time the cult was led by the 1st lord Phoenix and the cult transformed into the religion of Okran
You make a kenshi iceberg yet you don’t know anything about the iceberg or go in deep; like kenshi 3 is a refrence to Chris hunt talking about how when he did the environmental/graphical overhaul, he should’ve released it as kenshi 2
Space debris don't work like that. You can't see a bullet before it hits you either, doesn't make you less dead when it does. Space debris fly around at incredible speeds and can punch holes in equipment, every bit of which is vital on a space vehicle.
You are wrong about the skeletons, they dont go mad or reset that is a myth created by skeletons so they dont have to reveal that they are the cause of both calamities, there is unique dialogue when playing as a skeleton that kind of reveals this as well as dialogue from a careless shopkeep in scrappile/blackdessert city where he almost lets it slip to any of the other races. Skeletons are depressed because they remember everything how obedience was made, why stobe died, thier heroes catlon and tinfist turning on each other, tin fists almost enthrallment the fall of their empire, they remember it all. take note of the skeleton historians words when playing as any other race and then try as a skeleton the crumbs of truth are in the game.
Skeletons will suggest to other skeletons they reset even if no non skeletons are in play. I believe they say it more as a social trend like cultural slag, like telling someone to fuck off or do die. So I believe they can reset but it’s not like any “sane” skeleton would.
From what I remember, they do need to reset, but it leaves memories intact. Only their skills wipe. Otherwise, nearly every skeleton in Kenshi would have rediculously high stats-like Catlon-in at least one or multiple fields. It wouldn’t make sense for so many skeletons to have less than 20 levels in all skills, otherwise. But as I said, their memories remain intact, which explains that dialogue you mentioned.
9:30 the Hivers were created by the Skeletons. I mean the Queen Head is shaped the same as one of the unused concept Skeleton Designs. The fact the Queen's are part machine as well implies quite heavily that they're not entirely organic. It's very possible the Skeletons created Hivers as an attempt to create new life from machines. Kinda a bridging the gap between machine and organics. We already know some of the Machines in the Kenshi Universe Eat living Tissue, the Kings are a great example of this. Southern Queen's Husband is literally a full blown machine.
Planetary death by desertification is a thing (I think), having to do with the continually receding water levels while massive geological events (the volcanos and the Ashlands, not to mention the sky lasers) continue to accelerate the atmosphere's evaporation. There is no fix for these because the technology to offset the environmental damage has either been broken or lost entirely. Without vegetation to retain water (the acid rain is of such low pH levels that it heavily corrodes on contact), the oceans will eventually become too saturated with chemicals and minerals to sustain life even on a microscopic level. And as the microclimates of ecosystems give way to arid conditions, more and more water will be released into outer space (via evaporation) until there is either no water or no atmosphere left. It's a theory that's been posited by those who do research on Mars (which had an atmosphere at one point), though the death of Mars' atmosphere happened for different reasons (that being that the core inside cooled down, removing the ionosphere that would have otherwise shielded the atmosphere from the sun's more intense radiation).
Mist ghouls are mentioned by the drunkard Hobbs frequently. But it it is also part of that conversation, that mist ghouls don't exist. That's why someone modded them into the game.
@@fuyumanatee9956 the venge laser is an old world artifact that is similar to the crashed one it was likely used to kill invading armies that landed during the 1st empire reign this is proven by skeletons when they are in venge and see a laser they will say thats the other one hinting to the crashed one
Yep, he just goes over that "Mad cat - lon is the founder of the Frist empire" when it's clearly fucking named SECOND EMPIRE EXILES... He thinks just because he does it in the style of Sseth that allows him to put less effort into it, which is not the case. Sseth's videos require a ton of effort, and he usually does it with a team.
space debris would be tiny it just is so fast that if a space craft is hit by lets say a screw in space the screw would rip a large hole in any ship so possible
We do have clear skyes as well, but if you look for it, there are websites that show how much debris we have around earth. Just because we can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.
The space debris thing is actually plausible since in space\orbit objects move at such immense speeds that a rock slightly larger than a pebble is capable of punching a hole through the hulls of spacecraft.
Gotta correct you on the last one. Here’s the thing about space debris. The average object in earth orbit is about 20k kph. A us quarter moving that fast will turn to plasma upon impact with a solid object and punch right through multiple inches of steel plating. Trillions of tiny objects would make for an even more inescapable prison. Fun fact, this is a serious concern among international space agencies on earth already.
I read 10 comments like that already so you don't have to correct me btw I think nasa or others will just build stringer ships instead of cleaning that mess
The "Skeletons can't reset or they lose their skills" is something you hear in a generic conversation in case you have a skeleton in your group, "Hive huts are made out of vomit" is from a conversation I keep hearing every single time when getting into a bar I'm a little sick of it... probably my fault though for using the "Let's Talk" mod though. Mongrel have have easily been made by escaped Okranites before it became mostly populated by other races. You know Kenshi is tidal locked because the planet is always into view in the night sky, don't really agree on the opinion the size of the map is proof of the size of the moon, at its biggest the map can be classified as a continent, not a super continent, average one probably on the small side. Stobe could possibly be where the image of Okran began, given how pessimistic and negative skeletons are I can see it commenting very negatively about what happened in the first Fall and specifically talking trash enough about skeletons that the narration became "they're sole artificers", all the prejudice against other races comes from the religion naturally evolving. Since the planet Kenshi is orbiting is lush and verdant I would be inclined to believe it's true fishmen are the native species while the Ancients originated planet-side, it's clear Ancients had the ability to put massive objects in space so colonization doesn't sound all that off. I would disagree fogmen are infected from Obedience's gases as the Southern Hive which is all the way down to... well the South can be overtaken by fogmen, though I don't have any theory of my own which has more solid ground as a replacement. There's definitely a space debris issue on Kenshi, as many satellites can be seen have fallen off from the sky and more which broke but haven't yet fallen off are still up there. The elevation at which space debris is at is too high up for us to simply look up and see, just like how you can't see the ISS up in the air and even some high flying planes. The surface of the island the game takes place in may very well end up cooked off by the giant lasers which are constantly firing off and causing the ground to heat up and dry, I wouldn't consider the place's sun being an issue or at least the greatest cause of desertification.
You actually can see the ISS at certain angles when it gets lit up without the solar panels/radiators causing a glare. Especially when it crosses in front of the moon. Normally all you can see is its lights blinking across the sky and it looks no different than a really fast plane. Kessler syndrome is typically associated with much smaller pieces of debris. A few feet across or even something as small as an individual bolt. The destruction of one of the laser satellites could definitely have made some orbits completely impossible to pass through. The majority of debris on Kenshi's continent probably comes from the one massive crashed satellite you can visit, its even in a rough line across the continent.
In regards to the Fogmen over-running the Southern Hive, it's what happens to the Southern HIve as well as any other HIve in which you kidnap/kill the Queen. The theory I've heard is that the Queen is kinda' like the Overmind in Starcraft. The Queen keeps them pacified, yet if she is lost or dead, her influence on the hive is lost as well, causing them to go insane and become Dead Hive. Something to back up this theory is that, if you notice, the Dead Hive have no Queen, only Princes. Also, they could be supplied with new "Civillians" from Lost Drones that break off from the other hives. That's what I'm assuming. Not sure what would attract the Lost Drones there, but if anybody else has any ideas, shoot me a reply.
2:45 second empire fell because of skeletons becoming unstable and tyrannical CPU of Rhinobot "Rhinobot just wanted to help, but he had no moral processing, and so would help with anything, even the most diabolical evil. He didn't see anything wrong with his child prisons. " CPU of General Jang "CPU of General Jang, leader of the famous Hydraulic Knights. They fought on the frontlines to protect the empire from pirates and cannibals, their heroism legendary. As time went on, the label of "pirate" became thrown around more and more gratuitously, and they found they were killing more of their own people than the real pirates were."
I'm no NASA expert but im pretty sure that just because you can see the clear sky doesn't mean there isn't space debris in there,as far as I know, that shit flies fast and is deadly
I think the Bugmaster one is about his age. Because the Shek have this whole-ass tradition about challenging this guy when they feel that their time has come, but he still looks like a swole 40 year-old, so it's kind of implied that he's super old but doesn't age and instead just keeps on training for his stand-off against Cat-Lon.
Maybe the Old Empire was actually an interplanetary regime, and they didn’t actually fall, but simply abandoned terraforming the planet after the Skeletons rebelled? Just left everyone to slowly die...
The stobe is okran is true, when stobe sacrificed himself for humanity the skeletons felt regret for their genocide and made the 2nd empire, in the 2nd empire stobe was worshiped as a God by some humans they thing that stobe was a primordial God which upon its death split into narco and okran, for a time there was peace until the skeletons started ruleing with and iron fist and started cracking down on the okranites this is where the human good everything else not skeletons bad comes from. Edit spelling and thanks for reading this block of text
Least you can do is give proper credit instead of leaving it blank, have some respect for your fellow creator. Hey Awesome video, just a small detail, when it said stobe is okran it DID make sense, as the reason the holy nation hates robots is because during the first empire they where the ones who rebelled and thus killed humans and additionally you have to remember the holy nation are the descendants of the people who rioted against cat lon, so thats why they hate robots, however they wouldn’t hate stobe as stobe was the only behemoth who survived obedience and he died saving the human race and since it hadn’t been too long since this happened they might have still remembered stobes sacrifice and they made a religious out of it to worship him.
One thing about the bugmaster is that I don't think they meant immortal as unkillable but imortal as he is unaging since its a popular theory he created the hive and genetically altered him self not to age
you got the bugmaster thing completely wrong, by immortal they mean he cant die of old age, thats because he was fighting sheks for a few hundred years (from what i remember of the lore of this game) immortal =/ undying

You are wrong about the space debri. Most space trash travels so fast that you can’t see it. Take us for example even the iss is almost invisible to human eyes but the danger of space debris is very real to us.
So the thing is that Skeltons never reset their memories. They have a unquie dialogue if you're a Skelton and ask about the history. It's saver to say the ones hostile to humans are ones that still habour hate towards organic. Sure some will be crazy from the amount of killing they've done But the deepest thing about it, is cat and tin successful built the second empire until cat start trying to wipe out people for any sort of crime which lead to a revolution which is why thalls are a thing because cat removed the freewill from sketlons still loyal to him to prevent them from switching sides.
You just skim over some that you think don't relate but they are probibly the most relivent, like the hives created by skeletons has some footing in the lore
I have mixed feelings about you using other people's footage without citing them. There's at least half a dozen other Kenshi videos that you used for this that aren't mentioned in the description. Please give a shout out to content you use at the very least.
Heard an iceberg theory that skeletons are actually citizens from the first empire that transcended and left their mortal form behind. Could be why we find almost no remains from that period.
there is no lore indication in game on the purpose of skeletons. its clear they were made by humans long time ago, but we dont know why they were made. for war or slaving around.... but they are AI. not citizens minds in robots. there are no remains from first empire because world of kenshi ended like 3 or 4 different times before we start actually playing the game. i suspect kenshi 2 will expand greatly on lore
Space debris can move incredibly fast and is one of the most dangerous things about interplanetary travel. micro rocks can move so fast it can punch clean through ship hulls.
About the skeleton reset thing: I played a skeleton recently and a quick convo happened where they talked about if skeletons got depressed couldnt they just reset and my dude said yeah but they would lose their skills too.
@@KIWI-un8fs Yea I think he used footage from Ambigous amphibians Torsolo run, torso squad, and the 100 hivers run along with footage from nurses surviving kenshi(tm)
Surprised this iceberg doesn't include the weird theme of Skeletons and the other races trying to combine or merge. The skeleton bandits and skin bandits being two sides of the same twisted coin, and the hiver queens being apparently unable to function without machine assistance. Even the name Skeleton implies that there's meant to be flesh or a casing over top. Also skeletons can feel pain. Try putting them in a peeler sometime, and you'll see.
actually theres a little background dialog in bars that can pop up about a hiver vomiting from drinking too much rum and the guy talking about the story says the vomit looks a lot like what the hive houses are made out of
Skellys can feel pain. Put any of them in the peeler and you'll see. I thought they would be silent, like pulling hardware from a robot. Was not the case.
I literally just watched a video about Kessler Syndrome, the debris doesn't have to be big to be dangerous. I think the biggest thing keeping people from leaving is that they don't have the rockets... or do they? I've never seen them.
*SPOILER BELOW* Giant skeleton saves the last of humanity from total annihilation, the giant skeleton is killed by his own people (fellow skeletons) while protecting the last humans. Generations later the human remember a being so pure and valiant, standing in defiance against the skeleton, which at the time, humans are doing too. A lord phoenix rises and claims to be sent by a god 'Okran' who is remembered as the god of light, savior of humanity and through a vicious war, the second empire eventually falls and the humans are free. I think it's not just plausible but completely true. A few ironies in this story. The Holy Nations is the faction of Okran worshipers, but they hate ALL skeletons, even though their 'god' is one. Also it is not recorded at all by the followers of Okran, but many skeletons rebelled against Catlon and his treatment of humans, they too died defending humanity. Catlon even says it when you meet him.
Cat lon only started thralling his loyal followers because they were "taking sides witb the humans". There was clearly skeletons who cared for the humans, Cat lon originally wqs one but eventually blamed humans for him hating them, calling them monsters after his empire failed to protect them from famine. Great post btw thanks
Stobe is actually Okran, he was the one who stopped the skeletons from committing genocide against the humans after the fall of the first empire. Therefor the humans worshipped him. But the religion changed over time especially during the skeleton oppression in second empire. This religion would eventually turn into religion of Okranites.
I think the Mongrel being okranites thing may just be worded weirdly. It'd make sense if it was created by escaped slaves of Okran, since hive, skeleton and shek are typically the folks Okran hates and enslaves. Mongrel would be a good destination to flee to since, well, fogmen.
actually we don't even know that they broke up....it's entirely possible that Tinfist still helping his good buddy by getting the East to consume itself so the 2nd Empire Remnants will have an easier time sweeping through and bringing it down, possibly as a means of trying to motivate Cat-lon to come out of retirement (interestingly..Cat-lon is basically the only case where killing the leader that actually makes their faction "BIGGER" instead of getting weaker since apparently he was holding the 2nd Empire Remnant's forces back due to believing it was futile to even try and reconquer everything). Since none of his actions actually help but a possible conquest from the Ashlands, it just creates anarchy and destroys the 3rd Empire and leaves a bunch of starving peasants who are TECHNICALLY free now but are still starving and even destroyed completely all the big plantations instead of repurposing them to keep feeding people.
you, the player, prove there is absolutely no excuse not to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and become your own successful city-state in kenshi. those starvers are just pathetic wastes of carbon if they can't do it just like you.
I would not mind if it takes 4-8 years to make kenshi 2 as long they get a new engine and polish it also they should make it more optimized to play with a large squad and raid towns without the use of mods
actually you would not be able to see the space debris, a paint chip going at orbital velocity can destroy a ship. Space debris is already a problem irl, and I imagine that it's really bad in kenshi.
Screamer the Real is an NPC that doesn't spawn in game, but can be found in the FCS. I actually stumbled upon him by accident while working on one of my mods and had a brain blast moment when you brought it up in this iceberg.
Man what you said at the end "I really want to play kenshi now" I felt that, reinstalled it the other day after seeing all the kenshi 2 videos and it just made me wanna replay it.

I've heard it speculated that they are aliens, or otherwise foreign to the mainland of the game. Hive princes are the most intelligent race in the game and it's possible they engineer their queens to be more productive.
I dont think cat lon specifically hate human considering the second empire was made for redemption for human and the existence of cleanser bot which clean the air from toxic and domes (prob) life supporting domes for organics (based on wiki i havent got the chance to ashland)
Cat Lon went mad because humans just didn't wanted redemption. He went completely insane because he didn't understand why humans were opposing him even though he tried to save them.
If hivemen are based on insects then I could see the fog being pheromones, and like how some usocial insects work, when a queen dies they pick a new queen. So maybe the hivers make the queen and that's why she is part old machine, witch could mean hivers were made, maybe for slave labor, then rebelled to make there own colonies, and now pick a hiver to carry the birthing chamber, as they need a womb to be developed but were given no such things when created, to try and stop them from rebelling in the first place. These have been my ideas on the hivers.
The reason the hiver nest material theory is brought up is because you can overhear people bar’s talk about how they saw a guy puke up due to some stuff he ate in hiver territory and it looked similar to the stuff they make hives out of. (Ps: Was read during a modded play through with added dialogue so don’t take for certain)
I have unfortunate taste in games. Basically, I dont like any game that have come out since banished. This is the first game in over a decade that I play more then once. Absolutely absorbed me and my family is threatening to move out
Everyone says skeleton can’t reset. It is only suggested that they wouldn’t actually reset and they use it as a ploy. They are a machine that can be thawed by catlon but can’t factory reset themselves?
Beep doesn’t actually have the lowest stats going skill wise in game, that belongs to SadNeil who actually starts out with negatives in stats with the max being 1 but body durability and not needing any good compared to needing only half is a plus
The space debris could be very small, some of the stars in the sky could even be space debris. But, if there was enough space debris to stop ships from launching, the second Eye that's blasting Venge constantly would also be destroyed. I suppose it's possible that's what happened to the first Eye though.
@@caesar656 I think both Eyes collected sunlight, then beamed it to power stations which provided the electricity needed for the industries of the First Empire. It's likely not some kind of actual weapon otherwise it would hurt Skeletons too, and would kill Humans, Shek and Hivers a lot faster. Plus there are "receiver" or "control" towers in Venge and in the Purple Sands. Makes me think maybe the broken Eye was originally positioned over Purple Sands, and just happened to crash near Venge. The first empire seemed to have actual weapons of mass destruction, considering they killed all the skeleton behemoths at once (except Stobe), and whatever weapon did it made a huge crater and permanent fog.
1:22 I am 99% sure that true. Either the Skeletons from that one Skeleton city tell you that or the one Skeleton who lives alone in tower and you can recruit it. Tell you about that fact.
If you ask Sadneil in Black Desert City why he doesn't reset himself to not be sad anymore, he says skeletons who reset lose all skills, so yes it's true.
They dont reset actually, they just say that to hide something. All robots In Kenshi go far back to the times of the first empire and they tried to genocide humans on two accession's no human alive knows this. Some of the robots regret the actions they did, anyways a lot of lore.
@@brawler9406 it's unclear if only some skeletons lie a out it or if all do. The skeletons can and do go insane from the traumas of the past wars and apocalypses they lived through so many choose to forget and not be driven mad by their old hatred of the first pheonix or whatever. It is clear some do not reset and do not wqnt to forget those tragedies though
