How many of them do nutrition testing?

Farmers (growing wheat) look quality only in one aspect and it is protein content, so all the Mn, Mo, Ca, Mg and so on is not a quality they are looking for because noone is paying for that.

@@karl6458so it looks like a pricething? Shouldnt the national government bodies set quality standards so that every farmer knows what he needs to grow and sets the prices for this for consumers? Maybe simple but could help

@@hansscholte5472 it is a matter of price. Essentially there are animal feed wheat as the lowest quality because of the low protein level, then comes food wheat for human consumption and highest quality should be organic wheat where no chemicals are used and this is also most expensive for consumers but making money from it is quite hard.

@@karl6458 agree Karl. So what do you think? I’m involved in a self help group with people with Parkinsons disease. More and more evidence comes at the table there is a correlation between PD with Wine farmers in the North of France and the fact a lot of pesticides are used in Wine crops. Possibly a matter of time when evidence will be reported about neuro degenerative diseases like PD and our foods. Quality comes at a cost

you are way more fortunate than we are here in the Philippines in terms of products to use for regen ag. you have Graeme Sait's company fully developing similar products. here, tis just importation if at all, and very expensive. which does not mean we cannot be also creative to grow nutrient-dense food..blessings to all

Piggybacking on your discussion, are there any known good European products similar to those spoken about on this webinar? Most of all interested in the biologicals such as biocoat gold, spectrum and micro 5000 organic.

Kirstin, I am also in Australia. I have a one acre bush block, which will be our forever place. Looking of ways to produce healthy plants. Learning so much from AEA even just the general principles.

@@drtootsi surely there would be such products in Europe which actually is more advanced in these kinds of products overall. the names of companies or products escape me presently...blessings

@@drtootsi I was talking last week with another viewer from Europe and he suggested Mack Bio-agrar in Germany. I don't have any experience with them, but I looked at their product range and there is some similarity. I've also had good results with products from Symbiom in Czechia; they are well known for making quality mycorrhizal inoculants (including some for ericoid mycorrhizal plants, they claim to be the first). In addition to making the inoculant, they also have an organic fertilizer blend that has been designed to not only give some nutrients to the plants, but to last a few years in the soil as fungal food. I've used their products early on starting my small farm and am looking to purchase again for a new project as well. edit- I'll note that the products can seem expensive from Symbiom, but if you use their fertilizer in conjunction with compost and soil health practices you can reduce the rate dramatically. It took me three years to use up 100kg of fertilizer in an intensive no-dig market garden with approximately 1000m2 of permanent bed space. I found it useful to use around 1/5-1/3 of their recommended application rates. If you are looking for cold/machine extracted seaweed products searching from Ireland is a good option as a lot of seaweed is harvested there in the EU.

John Kempf has mentioned applying the Primer trio (Rejuvenate, Spectrum, and Sea Shield) to the soil (way before planting) as early in the Spring as possible....and that Fall applications of the Primer (after harvest) are the most effective. Many farmers also spray the Primer into the furrows when planting. Some soak the seeds in the Primer solution just before planting.

Hey Dwight.. yes as mentioned a soil surface application works really well, especially in the fall or spring, so we're not limited to in-furrow applications by any means. If the primer is being applied in a context where there isn't an irrigation option then timing the soil primer just before a rain would work really well, to get the application below the first couple of inches of soil.

I would argue spraying it would be a waste of time. The quality of the product is hugely influenced by the equipment..many sprayers kill microbes. Spraying it on the ground would probably involve lots of water and if you live where we live, evaporation would toast the microbes and force dormancy or death. I am looking forwards to seeing actual data supporting the new industry of selling omnipresent microbes that isn't from the vendor

Biology is a hugely critical factor in having healthy soils and producing healthy plants. We love to hear that people are working to support the biological populations in their soil; it's wonderful that you've been able to gather those materials and put them to good use. Yes, we do sell products, some of which are biological products, but we also have a ton of free resources and information available on our website and here on our RU-vid channel. Different folks, different strokes. While there is a sales aspect many farmers/growers don't have the skill, time, or interest in the creation of farm-developed amendments. On our small acreage (3 acres) we are able to do a lot but not everyone has the same capacity. Having a "product series" that can facilitate the soil biology, is priceless. Supporting the research and the outreach education to the general public is a win-win, using their products.
