Your comments about the value steps on the light side vs the dark side were fascinating. I’m sure I would not have caught that even in practice. I would have just thought I was dealing with an anomaly and wouldn’t retain the info. But I’ll be watching for it now.
This is extremely helpful! Are you able to link the value scale jpeg and link to the value scale card? Thank you! Looking forward to coming back to this exercise!
I've just recently discovered your channel and it's fantastic.I've a question if you don't mind which is about michael hardings permanent orange v his cadmium orange.Do you know if his cadmium orange has a little more punch and would it be necessary to spend the extra on it or would the permanent do?
The permanent orange is actually better, in terms of higher chroma. It's more of a red orange, but you can easily send it a little more toward yellow orange with cad yellow.
Paul, is the shadow inside the top end of the loo/toilet paper roll a cast shadow? And, if so, would it also be of the same value (from the same light source) as the external cast shadow? Unfortunately, you did not address this issue near the end of another excellent video from you.
