The Kia EV6 debuts as one of the best new electric cars on sale 

I own a Porsche 911 and an Audi SUV and never thought I would say that a freaking KIA looks good.

Fantastic review m8! Very detailed and the best I have watched.

This is a quality EV, as-is the Ioniq 5 - it's really just a style choice between them. I think we are witnessing a brand transformation with Kia/Hyundai - quality interiors and great technology. This is their chance to break the shackles of their legacy "budget brand, budget interior"... by re-lanching themselves as a class-leading all EV manufacturer - and they know it! Before people could compare a Kia Sorrento or Kia Sportage with it's big-brand VW/Ford competitor and "desirability" played a big part in the decision-making... but now they have fewer competitors in the EV space and the "brand snobbery" plays a lesser priority to the tech, range and EV practicality. Bring it on I say - this will only make every ICE manufacturer sit-up and wake-up, resulting in better and cheaper EV cars for us all. Having said that Kia/Hyundai just have to bring the price down a little to gain serious traction from brand loyalists - pricing is just too close to competitors. I;m sure once they switch, they won;t go back, but bring it down 10%, flood the market, and then increase it slowly later when they have the best-value-in-class awards. They have only a short window of time to do this before Chinese manufacturers like BYD enter the UK/European market in force with cheaper alterantives.

Great video! How did you find the A/C level in the cabin? With all of the issues being reported with the heat not working in cold temps I’m curious how the air conditioning is working in the hot? Canada has cold winters and hot summers, I want to make sure I’m not setting myself up with a double whammy with this purchase. Thanks!

Thank you, absolutely fantastic review, and great to hear the test consumption and the approx consumption at 120kph during the test, this is crucial detail that is so hard to find when considering an EV. Listening to this detail tells me I should manage 300km from one, even with a heavier right foot than most EV customers. I'm hoping to get one on 19s, great to hear the ride sounds good, it should nicely over bumpy bumpy Irish backroads. When I test drove a 2020 BMW X3 2.0d xdrive MSport on 19" wheels with big high tyres (albeit run flat), I found the compression from the dampers was too stiff over bumps, I.e. it tried to settle too quickly in response to every bump and in turn left the passengers spines deal with the bumps at higher, but still legal, speeds on bumpy roads. Do you think the EV6 suspension would cope better with bumps than the BMW I describe above?

Hyundai/Kia are world class auto brands, not as cheap either, but still very competitive agains the japanese brands.
