Sarah Jayne Dunn really impressed as a concerned parent here. Had I not known better, I would have believed Ella really was her daughter, and had killed someone. Ella being Mandy`s daughter, I don`t blame Mandy one second for setting her first. The tragedy, though, is that if she instead of assuming the worst, had gotten Ella to come clean about every detail about what happened, it would be obvious that Ella acted to protect Charlie from being attacked, and possibly killed by Jordan, and therefore that her intention was to protect Charlie, not to kill Jordan. So if Mandy had phoned Darren, both kids could have been helped. Cause the police, since the findings on the scene would have fitted with how Charlie and Ella described what had happened, could not charge neither Charlie, nor Ella with deliberately having planned and intended to kill Jordan, all the time he was killed by one single stab in the back. That is a not deliberate death, but a tragic fluke one. And all the time both Charlie and Ella were convinced Jordan would kill them or harm them, they are justified both to protect themselves and each other against any credible threat. Jordan being both older and bigger, could have presented such a threat to them. As long as the findings on the scene matched what Charlie and Ella had explained about what happened, it is unlikely they would have been charged, one of the knifes being Jordan`s, and the other found nearby the scene. Something like that cannot have been a planned killing. But even if Mandy protects the truth from coming out, getting Charlie acquitted should not present too big a challenge, since Jordan was killed by only one stab with the knife. The autopsy report, although showing in detail how deep and at what angle the knife had penetrated into Jordan`s body, and what damages it had caused there, would not tell neither who had held the knife, or under what circumstances, it all had happened. Still the forensic examiner being an expert witness, usually very experienced (they don`t give cases with underage killers to newcomers) has a lot of knowledge and professional integrity a defense lawyer could exploit to his/her advantage. imagine the forensic examiner (FE) in the witness box, being questioned by the barrister for the defense (D): D: "Even if your examinations of the body have determined what knife and what injuries that caused the victim`s death, it does not specify who inflicted them, is that not correct? FE: "That is true." D: "So your otherwise excellent autopsy report does not point in any particular direction in the search for whoever stabbed the victim, only which weapon, and which injuries that killed him. Therefore you don`t know how that stab came to happen. Is it possible the reason the victim was stabbed in the back, was that say the victim where holding the defendant in both hands, about to toss him away, and that the defendant, in panic, stabbed the victim in the back to not be thrown against the window, or on top of tables and chairs, to protect himself from injuries and pain?" FE: "It is not my job to speculate..." D: "But you are an expert forensic examiner, it must be possible to say if such a scenario is possible, or not!" FE: "I suppose it would be possible." D: "What if the defendant was on the floor, fearing the victim was about to stamp on his head or throat, and to avoid that made his way through the victims leggs, so he was behind him, there saw the knife, grabbed it and stabbed the victim in the back. Could that explain the stab wound that killed the victim?" FE: "I suppose so." Having toreadored with the forensic examiner, using a few other scenarios which clearly placed Charlie in potential danger, and which the forensic examiner reluctantly had to admit could have been how the stabbing of Jordan had happened as a red cape - creating doubt, narrowing the possibility for the jury to be fully convinced about Charlie`s guilt, cause so many of the scenarios pointed to Charlie as the one being attacked, and Jordan as the attacker, that the jurors view of Charlie would more be the scared and defenseless little boy being attacked by a twenty something drug dealer attempting to kill him, it would be time for the figurative stab in the neck: D: As a forensic examiner, would you describe the scenarios we now have gone through to be of a nature that can be described as traumatic, for a young boy to be fighting for his life against someone older and stronger than him, intending to kill him? Should the FE be evasive in his/her answer, that offers the defense barrister the opportunity to paint the various scenarios for the jurors again, confronting the forensic examiner with the challenge of coming up with an explanation for why the different scenarios cannot be described as traumatic. Either he/she will admit that they are, or the jurors will lose confidence in the FE as an independent expert, thinking instead he/she will do or say anything they think will help the police and the prosecution. Should the prosecuting barrister object, claiming the FE is not a psychologist, cannot read the mind of the defendant at the time or similar, jurors - who is very curious to hear the answer of the FE at this point (having already concluded the answer to be yes themselves) - would see that as an intervention from the prosecution because the facts goes against them, and weakens their case, and that is why they are so keen not to allow the FE to answer the question. By starting the question with "As a forensic examiner," that creates the impression that the question is one the FE should be able to answer, and since all the jurors likely quickly will conclude the answer to be yes, it would be traumatic, any hesitation or attempt to row the FE would try, would be seen as an attempt at dodging the question - undermining the overall confidence in both the FE as an independent expert and the prosecution`s case. At the same time what the jurors will see in their heads while thinking of the incident, is terrified little Charlie being attacked and tried killed by Jordan, until he is lucky enough to get hold of a knife from one of the tables to stab Jordan with, and save his own life. So when the follow up question: D: In your time as a forensic examiner, have you ever heard of cases where a person is so traumatized by the incident, that he or she is incapable of remembering anything from it at all? That question traps the FE completely. Cause if he/she tries to say they never have heard of any such cases, they know the defense will confront them with real life examples - if they are unlucky, cases they themselves have been working on. But if the FE answers honestly and says yes, that will substantiate a possible claim by the defense that Charlie acted to protect his own life, but because the incident was so traumatic was incapable of remembering it all afterwards, so not remembering anything about how, but knowing he killed Jordan, he gave the police a story he thought was what happened, but as they confronted him with more and more evidence his version of events was not supported by the evidence, came to accept their version of events instead. Even if the police, using evidence from the crime scene to ripp Charlie`s explanation to protect Ella apart, had gotten him to confess to have killed Jordan with intent, such a confession would have been raised doubt about, had the FE reluctantly have had to admit there was cases so traumatic they could be blocked from memory completely. Offering the defense the chance to claim that Charlie had not been taken in lies by the police, but simply didn`t remember anything of the incident at all because he had been so scared of losing his life, and therefore constructed an explanation to why Jordan was dead that he found most likely - and therefore voluntarily confessed to having killed Jordan, cause he honestly believed, at that time, that he had. But when the police found holes and untruths in his explanation compared to the crime scene and the autopsy report, he just accepted their claims, cause he had no recollection of what happened himself. Until he was charged with murder. Something he knew could not be what happened, cause he had not planned to kill neither Jordan, nor anyone else that night, so much he remembered. He hadn`t lost his memory completely, only for the time he and Jordan fought. And here the fact the knife that killed Jordan was from the restaurant and had not been brought there, and the only knife that had been brought was Jordan`s own knife - suggesting that if anyone came with the intent to kill that night, it was Jordan, not Charlie. All in all all of this should have established more than enough reasonable doubt to get a teenager acquitted of the killing of a 20 something drug dealer. But off course, had Mandy told Darren what Ella had told her, Charlie and Ella could both have told the truth. A truth that would have matched the findings of the crime scene and the autopsy report, and neither would have been charged since both of them feared for their own and the other`s life, after Jordan found them hiding under the table.

One interesting thing with this case, though, is the blood palm print on Darren`s shirt. That quite clearly is left by a hand pressed against Darren`s shoulder. But it is a clear imprint, not something you would see had someone (Darren) wiped blood off their hand to clean it, cause those types of prints are more stretched and oddly shaped. So just by looking at the blood print, it looks more to be from someone pressing their hand against Darren to push him away. Could that have been Jordan, trying to protect himself from being killed by Darren, after Darren had realized that if Jordan talked, Charlie would be in big trouble - if alive? And the reason the hand was bloody was that before he needed to attempt to defend himself with it, Jordan had pressed it against his wound to stop the bleeding? But the massive blood loss having made him so fatigued, he didn`t stand a chance to stop Darren killing him? One thing is for sure, that bloodstained shirt of Darren`s must have some key role in this, otherwise it wouldn`t have been included. Cause normally Darren would not have bloodied his hand by checking the neck or hand pulse of a dead stab victim who had been stabbed once in the back. So is the blood an indication Darren could have blood on his hands in a more figurative way?

I hope Charlie gets out however, everyone hating on Mandy, in all honesty if it was your child been forced to 'plug drugs' and they thought that was their only way out of the situation they was in because they was that terrified for what was going to happen in their lives next, would you want them to confess and be in jail going through even more childhood trauma or at home trying to make up for not been aware of what was going on in the first place 🤔

Just goes to prove how selfish mandy is .your took Nancy's husband with vim and pin the murder on Charlie know full well what your daughter has done .never really liked mandy she is too self absorbed and sly for my liking..only positive out of this could maybe in the long run bring Darren and Nancy back together. To all you that are moaning that mandy is telling Ella to tell no one of course she is going to do that she is protecting her daughter which is her number one priority. Also you are all moaning that they are letting Charlie take the blame it is his fault he chose to tell the police it was him. If he did not touch the murder weapon and put it back were Ella got it from then his prints would not be on it and it would have been Ella's, also if he had not told the police it was him then the police would have checked the murder weapon and they would have found Ella prints and that would get Ella put away or put down as a main suspect. So yes it is Charlie fault for not keeping his gob shut. Also maybe she should not have been joined a drug operation then.

when it comes to the trial storyline they will probably stick ella nancy darren and brooke in the witness box and whoever defends charlie will use a tactic to get charlie off and get ella to confess and break down. they will probably attack nancy over her painkillers and darren over his involvement with drugs and mention brooke's mum and the fact she was the one who killed becca. i wonder if they will bring back justin for the trial storyline after all he is charlie's real dad and isnt anyones idea of a saint

The plot thickens again - after a not very convincing death scene for Jordan, which was almost as bad as the idea of Bobby Fowler at age 11 killing his 20 year old sister with one blow with a music box, and being convicted of murder. How could and 11 year old have planned to kill a 20 year old woman, much taller than him, with just one blow with a music box? If he had intended to kill her, he would have hit her repeatedly, or used a weapon more appropriate for the job, like a hockey stick. However, had he entered the living room with a hockey stick, his sister probably would have been alerted to what was coming. So consequently Lucy`s death would had to have been a tragic accident - Bobby couldn`t have planned it. He got upset, hit her with the music box in anger, but because she had multiple bumps to her head that night, that last one was enough to kill her. That is not murder, but a tragic accident as a result of a chain of unfortunate incidents no individual could be blamed for, cause they happened independently of each other, and without the various inflictors being aware of the others, and the serious threat their collective doings posed to Lucy`s life. Oaks almost fell into the same trap, but saved themselves by having Ella given running speed before stabbing Jordan in the back, otherwise that steak knife would not have penetrated deeply enough to cause Jordan his life. But with the running speed, it could - even if it doubtful it would have killed him instantly. Most likely he would just be in pain to begin with, until he had bled so much he bled to death, or his blood had been infected, and he would die from sepsis if not treated in time. But even if Hollyoaks managed to somewhat save the credibility of the SL with Ella`s running speed, Jordan`s behavior was odd. After having allowed Sid and Juliet to flee, why did he not realize what he needed to do was calm down the two kids under the table, so he would win them on his side by protecting their secret from Victor, so they in turn would keep his about having allowed Sid and Juliet to flee? It didn`t really make sense to me why he would shout at them, and scare them, when he ought to know they had overheard what he told Sid, and therefore preventing them from bringing that information forward to Victor, should have been Jordan`s priority. Had he instead told them to calm down, he was not going to hurt them, he just needed them - for the safety of Sid and Juliet - to not tell Victor what they had heard from under the table. Then he would off course ask Ella why she wasn`t on her way with the drugs. And after having heard her, told both her and Charlie they should tell Victor that Sid and Juliet had robbed them of the drugs and the money. Providing credibility to what Jordan would tell Victor, that Sid and Juliet had ambushed him and ran, when he was going to transport them to be liquidated. But instead of telling this to Victor`s face, Jordan by know, would have left the village with the drugs and money Charlie and Ella supposedly had been robbed off, phoned him from far from the village, told Victor he didn`t have to worry, cause he (Jordan) was going to get the drugs and the money back, and get rid of Sid and Juliet once and for all, cause he had a pretty good idea where Sid and Juiet would be. After that he hung up, destroyed his phone so he couldn`t be traced, before Victor had the chance of asking him where Sid and Juliet were. A few days later Jordan is back in the village, together with a 3rd cousin of his, phones Victor, tells him his trip was successful in every way - where should they meet. The 3rd cousin comes with Jordan to the meeting with Victor, asks who the third cousin is first, annoyed Jordan has brought an outsider to the meet up. Jordan tells him he is his 3rd cousin, and one with access to a boat they used to get rid of the remains after Sid and Juliet. "They are fish food in the ocean now," the 3rd cousin says, and shows Victor a photo on his phone. It is the body and faces of a dead Sid and Juliet. Their bodies, lying on the deck of a cabin cruiser, and anchored down with chains and scrap metal, to sink deeper. Their faces are bloody with cuts and bruises. "First they wouldn`t say where the drugs and money were," the 3rd cousin explains with a sadistic grin and points to the beaten up faces. Flashback to a scene where Sid and Juliet are being applied make up that looks like bloody cuts and bruises on their faces, and the "3rd cousin," with a police identity card dangling on his jumper looking on and saying, don`t bother applying make up elsewhere than the faces, the bodies and the surroundings we can do with photoshop. Flashback is over, the "dead" and "beaten" faces of Sid and Juliet is seen on the phone display, and Jordan`s voice heard as hesitant voice over: "I told my 3rd cousin he would be well paid for his services...". "Off course he shall," Victor replies, and hands him the cash from the bag they have brought the drugs and the money in. In a van nearby, a young officer looking at a screen informs his superiors both in the van and on the line: "We should get his fingerprints from the money." Another man inside the van - not a police officer - says: "My client has given you Victor as he promised. You should have every opportunity to follow the money and the drugs further up the food chain to the very top. I expect the terms for his cooperation, full immunity for himself, his cousin Sid, and then Juliet, Charlie and Ella will be honored, and also that arrests - for my client`s safety - will be made sometime in the future so his involvement in this never will be known." The leading investigator looks at the lawyer: "Don`t worry. Our focus is on the king pins - both in this country and abroad. Those below Victor in the hierarchy we will not be bothering with." As the lawyer is leaving, the lead investigator says: "Remember! Walk in a straight line from the door, so Victor don`t realize there is people inside this van." The lawyer nods. The lead investigator feels like giving him some praise, and says with admiration in his voice: "It was very wise of you to persuade your client to come to us. He could have been in a lot of trouble if he hadn`t." "I didn`t persuade him - he came to me with the idea, and asked if I could get him an immunity deal with the National Organized Crime Squad if he told everything he knew." Okay, that way we would not have gotten the Darren and Nancy against Mandy development (possibly beaking up Darren and Mandy in favor of yet another Dancy era), instead Jordan would both have been alive, and more or less redeemed because he saved not only himself, but Sid, Juliet, Charlie and Ella as well. In addition to stopping Victor and the whole drug gang. Personally I would have preferred to have Jordan alive - even if I will admit the idea of having Darren and Nancy on the opposite side to Mandy in a criminal case - possible trial - involving their kids, is a good one

Charlie did not deserve to go to jail, and take the blame for Ella she's the one who killed Jordan not him, but hopefully she confess to it sometime soon to the police within the future in the series here, excuse me are u kidding me with that ending here, now Charlie's taking Charges for the murder of Jordan wow I'm speechless here.
