Thanks! Wish I could figure out what was so good about it and make another. 😂. The kids are now 7 and 9 and we still ride. I should try an make a sequel this summer.
I must admit watching this was part of the reason why we got ours a tc mini. Thanks for the video and tell the kids they were riding like champions. Stay safe and have a good one
Have to tell this story. My brother got his son a XR 80 for Christmas. This must have about 1982. The next summer we're sitting at fishing camp his son comes back covered in mud and wants us to get his bike out, he got it stuck. Ok, no problem...right..? We follow him into the woods (swamp) and couldn't find his bike. "Where's your bike son?" "Right there daddy" WHAT THE?...... HOW?..... This XR80 was buried handlebars deep in the mud. I mean you couldn't even see the seat. We had to go back and get the 4 wheeler to drag this thing out
Hey man, every dirtbikes video I see are very young kids ZIPPING through there yard with no helmet. Thank you for putting a professional helmet on both of your kids
That's awesome my daughter had both the pw50 she also has the stacyc she now has the ktm sx 50 mini she's also 4 and she absolutely LOVES it its so crazy what our little humans can do when they really want to do something that they love
My 3yr old has the Stacy 12 and my 5 almost 6 year old has the Stacy 16. Want to move them to 50CC would you recommend the PW50 or perhaps the Honda or KTM. PW has a lower seat and automatic transmission. What are your thoughts?
My daughter is 2 and I want to get her started asap. What bike to get. She has a strider and loves her bike. She lifts her leg over the bike and sits down very comfortable and puts her feet up asking where the pedals are lol also is there a fear element when they hear the motor for the first time?
Those kids have skill! I started riding dirt bikes at 4 years old and never learned how to let off the throttle until I busted my kidney in a wreck 16 years later.
Great, I bought the KTM SX Mini like in this video for my 3 year old grandson and a KTM SX 65 for my 8 year old grandson and they both took to riding these fast little bikes like baby ducks to water, I treated myself to a KTM SX 105 which is mega fast, you just can't beat riding dirt tracks with your family, thank you God for my many blessings 🙏
Aaaw the boy is soo sweet, i‘m sure in a few year’s he a profi MX Racer! He had so much fun on it!! Greets from Upper Austria, near Mattighofen where the KTM Bikes are made:)
I would have KILLED to have had one of those when I was 7!!! That was back in 1966! I finally got one but it took several years of begging. My first bike was a Yamaha Enduro 100. Small, but it did everything I wanted it to do.
They di so good I was riding my brothers motorbike at 2 years old by myself but I did have training wheels but that’s besides the point any ways you all did amazing keep smiling and keep being happy love you all have a great day/night
Mines dominating the strider races at 2 years old right now, he turns 3 next month, and will move to stacyc for a year to get used to that speed, then maybe at 4 years old he can race 50cc so I will do pw50 for a year or so, then to the ktm 50 or e2 by age 6-7. I don’t want to push him too hard just yet or scare him but he really enjoys it.
That’s awesome! This video is about 4 years old but we’ve been thru it all. The Stacyc’s are awesome and our kids ride them all around the neighborhood. They don’t have to ask us to ride them or need our help getting them out of the garage so they see 10x the use vs their dirt bikes. Have fun! It flys by!
That’s the parents fault, you just gotta take the training wheels off. Took em off and my son picked it up in about 2 weeks. It scared him because he was used to the safety net was gone. Now I threaten to put em on if he doesn’t slow down xD
Motocross is a rich kids game man. How any normal kid gonna fund seasons worth travel, bike, rebuilds an set up…price of tear offs alone is mad. Then add on tuition, practice etc. UK especially, just to practice is a full day event because so many complain about the noise you’ve got to go to official spots which are scarce.
Looks amazing. I’ve got a 2 year old who is just leaving the balance bike. Hopefully going to get him a Stacyc 12 then progress to a dirt bike. He loves anything with an engine.
Watched this video before and it reminded me of 32 years ago when I was doing the exact same thing with my 2 boys. Then I saw my previous comment and it made me laugh. KTM has sure come a long way with their mini's. Was enjoyable to watch. Hope kids are still all in. Including mom. Sometimes that changes when speed enters into the equation. Good luck.
Way to go dad! I wish my 10 year old grandson had started like this. But his dad….🙀 When he does, it’s gonna be a KTM. I used to MX. I ride a Husqvarna now. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
4 clicks to start. Then just slowly worked out to 9. I wouldn’t even tell him when I’d do it and he never noticed. Just move it out as they get more and more confident. I was stressing if that would wear the clutch faster. It didn’t. Long story short, 2 kids learned on that clutch. 85hrs on the bike before it needed replaced. The trick is to change the oil with ATF moterex every ride day.
I’m gonna try to get my kids into dirt bikes when I have kids, I recently got into them a few months ago and I will for the rest of my life Edit: just off-road vehicles like atvs dirt bikes in general
hey andrew, thanks for the video. if you would do over, would go put him directly/earlier on the ktm? or still would start him on the pw50? my kid is about 3 and a half y/o. the small stacyc 12 doest hold him anymore. too slow and delicate on dirt. deciding what the next bike will be. stacyc 16, pw50, ktm 50 min.... thanks!
Hey Ray. I would 100% have my son ride the pw50 again before the ktm. It’s just a good stepping stone. Especially since he’s still 3. My son has had a few bikes/Stacyc’s now and the pw50 is not a decision I regret. I bought both the 50 mini and sr. with less that 7hrs each from parents that rushed to put their kid on them. They are race bikes and can kill their confidence in my opinion. A pw50 is easily a 3rd cheaper than a ktm. Start there and then transition to a ktm mini. Most kids racing go thru a period of racing both at the same time. If you ever want to discuss more add me on instagram devries211. Good luck
@@AndrewDeVries211is your son just 4 or nearly 5 here for the ktm mini ? My sons just 3 but can cycle a bicycle on his own. thinking of starting him off on an ofset 12.5 s , what you think ?
Can’t wait to get the kids involved! I want to get my 2 year old girl going. What does getting them started look like? How did you get them to start getting on the bike? Also is there a fear element they experience when hearing a 2 stroke engine for the first time. Thanks for any help! 🤘🏻
What’s the best way to build the confidence that your 4 year old has? Our son turns 4 in may and we’re planning on getting him a bike for his birthday. What can we be doing to prepare and when he’s on one what’s the best steps to take? Great video!!
